    3 doesn't have to be solved with trig. If u = x^2 + 9 and you split the top into x^2*x then you can get by with just standard u-sub. You end up with a different but equivalent form of the integral, ((x^2+9)^3/2)/3 - 9(sqrt(x^2+9)) + c. I did it this way and was very frightened when he started using trig (Either I'm crazy or Calc BC never really hit "inverse trig integration" very much. We just do U-sub and Parts). But the answers are equivalent when I check it with Desmos.

    Shortcut for derivative of a function of type: f(x) raised to g(x)
    Let f(x) be f
    Let g(x) be g
    Let derivative of f(x) be f'
    Let derivative of g(x) be g'
    d/dx(f^g)=(f^g)(f'(g/f)+g' log(f))
    For those who couldn't understand what's written above, It reads as:

    For no.5 29:55 can't we just use p-test and say that since P>1, it converges?

    • @laurenclapp4501
      @laurenclapp4501 3 года назад +4

      The P test is used to determine if a series converges or diverges. For number 5 here, we are asked to solve an improper integral. Both use the concept of convergence/divergence, but are 2 completely different Calc 2 topics
