    Well boys, I did. I passed my pre calc final w 86%. Near the top of my class.
    I went from barely graduating highschool, ( all D’s, and I was in like freshman grade math at senior ) To complete turnaround in the last few years. I’m now working on a chemistry major, and couldn’t be happier. Men like this ( organic Chem tutor ) make it possible for me to follow my dreams. Giving me the help I desperately need. So, here I am thanking you OCT. you’re the man, and without your help I wouldn’t be where I’m at now! I’ll see you in a few weeks for trigonometry videos 😅

      @@creativename4276 nice job buddy. You’ll do awesome.
      My tips for precalc are: make sure your factoring is up to date. Sum of cubes, difference of cubes, perfect square, all of it. etc etc. and just watch these types of videos if you get stuck. Some new ideas are introduced in precalc, transformations, zero theorem, series, graphing asymptotes. Etc. So just don’t sit at one problem for hours if you can’t figure it out. Search it up, or ask someone, and move on. But the factoring thing is huge, for you do it almost every single problem in almost the whole class. If you don’t know long and synthetic division, maybe brush up on that. Although they go over it as well.
      Overall, it’s an easy class. Just a lot of info. You got this buddy!!

      I took precalc my junior year in high school. So dang man, nice. As for tips for precalc, don't overthink it. I'm assuming you're in advanced math, and already took something like algebra/trigonometry. Precalc is practically the same as that, but in a little more depth. Just use your time to understand all of the concepts as well as possible, as you'll rely on them in both calc 1 and calc 3. Calc 2 is it's own beast lol. Final tip, if possible, memorizing the unit circle is very helpful, but not necessary.@@creativename4276

    For question 8 use Vieta's formulas which relate the coefficients of a polynomial to the sums and products of its zeros. For a cubic polynomial f(x) = ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + d, the sum of its zeros is given by -b/a. In this case, a = 1, and b = -3, so the sum of the zeros of the polynomial is -(-3) / 1 = 3

  • @brixgalvez1890
    @brixgalvez1890 3 года назад +12

    a quick way to solve the sum of the roots of the cubic polynomial on 21:59 would be -b/a where b is the coefficient of the x² term and a is the coefficient of the x³ term.
    additional info: the product of the roots would be -d/a where d is the constant.

    Since 80% of our pre-calculus exams rely on tools like Python or GeoGebra, the recent change in exam format-removing 50% of the first half and incorporating it into the much larger second half-means that many of the topics covered in this video are irrelevant for me and others in the same situation. We're allowed to use any 'non-communication' tools available, including certain websites, but this makes the content less useful.
    I would appreciate it if you could provide videos focusing on topics related to digital tools like GeoGebra, integration, and vectors, especially addressing more complex problems that cannot be solved without these digital resources.
