You had me at "You can print your own Destiny models." Being a big fan of Destiny since the beginning and loving 3d printing, this is something I'll be looking into. Thanks for the info!

Just found this video in the recommended side panel of my own videos, and I'm just here to say that the Destiny Model Rips discord has ripping tools that can rip both Destiny 1 and 2 models (and their associated textures) into meshes that are already separated (if you want to print it in separate pieces). Not to mention they're usually better quality than what you can get from Lowlidev. (and if you set up the textures on the model in Blender, then you can see extra details that you normally can't in-game, and add them to the model in blender, or add them in after printing.)
I should also note, however, there does require some setting up for printing, like you show in this video, but overall it's much better than getting the models from lowlidev.

@@chickenpotpie79 Yeah, that's the Google Drive that Destiny Model Rips owns and maintains. You can also get the models from there if you don't want to, or can't, rip them on your own.

Is it in multiple pieces or as a whole assembly? If it’s an entire assembly, what kind of monstrous printer do you have?
Also, dunno your infill % but you’d be amazed with how low you can go.

@@congruentcrib i have the longer lk5 Pro. The 1:1 Print is so big that every single part fits close in the volume.

Is it possible to get the 3d files for your guardian and its current equipped armor? Like the 3d file you see on the companion app?

Is it possible to rip out armor as well? Say if you wanted to make your own guardian for cosplay?

Amazing video! Is there a similar website to get guns from call of duty into blender?

  • @congruentcrib

Why not rotate your model so the gun sits flat? You wouldn’t have that stair-casing.
Also a solution for that is to print that section (or the whole model) with thicker outside walls and use sandpaper to help blend the layers.

This is awesome dude, really interested in this kind of stuff. Do you know if there is a World of Warcraft version of this at all? Would be super keen to make some weapons and stuff from WOW.

This is weird. I dont know when I subbed to this channel. It was either years ago when I started getting into 3d printing (still am) or recently as a destiny player. But I am betting its the former and this is just a weird coincidence.
Anyways super useful. I have been wanting to print sunshot but it seems very daunting.
