Watching because Discount Tire wants $265 for 4 TPMS
Toyota just charged me $280 for 1 (parts and labor)
Yes, it's insane
Update: bought 4 authentic GM sensors one Ebay for $49 then crawled back to Discount Tire who only charged me $40 labor so $89 total for 4 new sensors(!)
@@danlake111Nissan trying to charge me 309$ for 1 tire and 360$ for labor. 💀
No wayyy😂
When you rolled them to the van my brother and I both literally LOL’d. Love it!
This was the best auto video I have seen. The whole time I was like, “why are you working so hard?”. My tire shop charges $5 if you bring your own sensors. 😂
Well done. I’m subscribed!
Dude when u picked the other tires up I just knew u were going to the shop. Right 😂😂👍🏿
I appreciate your videos. Helpful while shopping for my 2009. Trying to fix everything I can by myself. It's got a lot of little issues, but I'm gonna take my time and be patient.
Awesome video dude. Now whenever I need to change my TPMS's your video will be my go to. I've saved your video. Thank you kindly. I've also subscribed.
A good common-sense vid. Yep, just because it CAN be done at home (especially those that have nice shop setups, etc.) doesn't mean it makes sense to do it yourself when replacing sensors. For most of us, it's not worth the headache compared to taking it to a small shop that'll swap them for less time and a low fee. Thanks for sharing this, for it satisfied my curiosity about the sensors on my '07 Envoy.
Dealership wants $220 to replace battery on one sensor.
@@Fgji230you've got to be insane if you actually take your car to official dealerships for repairs
We only have 1 tire shop in my town and they want 120 each to replace sensors.
@@soldier4christsoldier4chri90 discount tires did all 4. For like $45 total. Tax included.
@@soldier4christsoldier4chri90 people need to stop gouging.
Does the programming part work for a 2009 Buick enclave as well?
So they come pre program? And just need tire relearn?
How would the learning tool work if you have a sensor in the spare tire? 4:45
Great video thanks
Another Amazing video, Great Job Chris❤
Much love my friend, thank you 🙏
Can I use this method on 295/60 r 20
How do you turn the TPMS on or check the battery? installed 2 new ones, and neither seems to work.
I’ve been told that I should use only OEM tire sensors that the ones I bought from Amazon won’t last as long as OEM. Last maybe a year or so
AC delco is OEM just happen to be from Amazon
I got me acdelco amazon 1yr ago. They're all DEAD NOW!
@@youzen8606may be because of age at sale? Mfg date is printed on them.
There are a lot of counterfeit sensors being sold on amazon. It's very hard to tell them from the original ACDelco visually but they don't last long.
So, any time you change one or more you need to reset them all at once or just the tire TPMS was changed ?
You have to reset them all, but it’s not hard at all
Hay Man thanks!!, Well on the Oregon coast Les Schwab wants $108 for the front 2 not rebalanced , and they are not even OEM for my 2008 Volvo, I ordered original one's for $29 each, I am retired and have the time, (I'm bored) I'll do it my self, I fix everything else, might as well fix this too. Besides if you do not break the bead from both sides the tire stays balanced, its only one side I have to break. I have a 4 foot X 4 foot 4X4 U - frame I built for another project I did so I will adapt that to hold the tire and Scissor Jack, Should be a Piece of cake.
diy might only be worth it if you live in the middle of nowhere like a ranch or something 😅 glad you talked me out of trying it myself lol
Just did all 4 on my Buick. Was quite a bit of work but saved $60 labor.
what do you recommend if the tire sensor you put in doesn't beep during reprogramming (using the tool), any suggestion what to do?
Buy a new tire sensor.
How in the heck did you find a shop to do it for $25?😮
I’ve been calling everywhere, even small LLCs and it’s all $125 and up
Valve which company
I've used a similar trick by laying a 4x6 on top of the tire and driving another car up the 4x6.
200.00 for 4 tpms replaced on 2014 tundra at discount tire...no choice am not a mechanic and if I tried I would end up spending a whole day trying to replace them and prob break something.
2nd method is the best & if you go with your car they will program it for free lol
Thanks
Yeah. Most people have all these tools handy.
I’m the type that if I did this I would break 100 parts causing thousands in damage for someone else to do it for 100 plus dollars
Lmao. I tried tried to fix my drain only to bust it and have to call in the professionals because is was draining into my downstairs neighbors house
Pep boys wanted 234 for one sensor.
no need replace the old one, just change a battery.
At 15 years old, replacing the part is worth the time imo. You’ll still need to brake to tire bead anyways.
Tire shops ask for more than that, 130 dollar a piece for just one,
Local tire shop only 10 bucks
Forget all that work trying to punp the tire up ....a small squirt of starting fluid inside the rim and a light and it will inflate the tire in seconds and you wont have to use that stinky pump so long.
Try taking your car to a used tire shop. They will do this for about 20.00
Hate those sensors. Local tire store ripoff chain wants $80 each to replace them. Not gonna happen.
just use a little soapy water not WD40
Don’t do all that piece of wood and jack bs to break bead.for replaceing sensor. And it only takes 5 minutes to update ur sensors. Great video of what not to do.
What do you suggest?
Yikes, I'm all for DIY, but this is way too much work, throwing in the towel and going to discount tire. A man has to know his limits.
I definitely found my limits lmao
I went to shop and they wanted $75 for each tire with sensors inclyded... i say hell nah...
So, $75 for the sensor and replacement? Sounds OK to me.
Buy your own sensors and go to a used tire shop.
Man I just removed all 4 tires and took them down to the tire shop in the hood and dude put them in for $15 each since the tires were already off the car. A lot less work and I got to eat some tacos off the truck while he did the hard work
Dude told me $110 per tire/sensor.
@@ITSjpBitch1 I had already purchased the sensors at around $35 each. The $15 was to install each sensor so it cost me an additional $60
Do not jack it up like he did i mean for fucks sake
Yeah this one I’m paying the $265
Discount tire told me $60
@@jordanjames8864 thx I’ll check with them
Definitely how NOT to change a tpms sensor. 🤦♂️ wtf
The second method is my go to! I hate fing with breaking down tires!
ATTENTION: do not listen to this guy. Good things take time. Do it yourself. Do NOT pay for cheap labor on your vehicle you will pay for it later.
Bravo 👏👏👏👏
