I just saw a video on The Identical unit, it was sold by Anaconda though so I think this is one of those generic units that a lot of companies sell... Anyway that 3 to 4 minutes is it boiling water so yes it does Heat the water. The other video said you could do three cups before you have to recharge it and it takes 3 hours to recharge

It only uses nespresso pods or ground coffee. No keurig k cups

This version is not self heating. The cera plus or outin nano both have heating elements built in
