Many thanks for sharing :) I wouldn't have tried without it! I disassembled both half-frames at the end to get good access to the yellow carriage sliders. Found out it may be easier to remove the fork at that stage than when it's inside as shown in the video.
Hello again, first of all, thank you very much for taking your time and answering. After disassembling the product, what should we use to clean the oils on it? Do you use chemicals? I would appreciate it if you could make a suggestion for cleaning it.
Great video, thanks! I took apart the brew group to my 13 year old Gaggia Platinum Swing Up, but.... there was NO little spring and glass ball (shown at 0:20). Did the older brew groups not have one? No one has taken this apart before me. I've put it back together, and it's working as it did before. Should I get one, and put it in??
Hello! A glass ball with a spring creates water backwater. The pressure in the coffee pomace increases and the coffee oils are pulled out of the coffee. You can buy a ball and spring and try to install. Perhaps you will see a difference in coffee if, of course, the pump pushes through such pressure. I don't know, maybe you have an SBS valve installed and then a spring with a ball is not needed. If possible, send me a photo of your teapot to me in the Viber application and I can tell you more accurately. Thank you for using my videos!

Hello! First, you need to clean it from coffee oils and perform a full maintenance with replacement of all sealing rings. Also clean it from calcium. And if after all these procedures it does not push water, then you need to pay attention to the pump. I have a video on my channel about repairing the pump.
Thank you I'll try to find an o'ring kit and replace them. I already cleaned the coffee oil and have no calcium as I have a water softener. I still run the descaling cycle every other month anyway. I don't understand how the ball and spring are supposed to let the water through? Is it supposed to hold it until it reaches a high enough pressure?
@ced2k Absolutely right! When the required pressure of 15 bar is pumped, the ball begins to rise, thereby freeing the passage for water. Perhaps your pump is already tired! Watch my video of how I revive the pump.

Also, after use, when the unit is powered off, it performs a small rinse cycle with continuous hot running water coming out the dispenser, but only for a very short time. I have totally re-built the brewing unit per various RUclips demonstrations with new stainless steel plunger screen + plunger o-ring, disassembled & blasted out all the tiny holes in the plastic plunger, made sure all the elbows and holes are clear and clean, installed the valve spring and glass ball correctly, greased all the o-rings, sliders and pivots. I have also fully taken apart the dispenser locater under the LCD display, disconnected the tube that connects to the brew unit, blasted water + compressed air through it so that it is 100% clear. Fully internally cleaned out the dispenser unit. I have calibrated the coffee grinding unit. The other issue I have is that that GREEN does not work on the LCD display - however I can still faintly see the LCD instructions - enough to get by. I haven’t run the LCD display diagnostics because that is too difficult to see / follow. But it seem like the pump + grinder & heater all work. I have disconnected & reconnected the LCD & checked the other wires, but can’t see any damage. Years ago the green would flicker on every now and then, but dead these days..
Hey! Thank you 🎉. My saeco lirika plus is not making the self cleaning when I power on. Apart of that, everything is working. What do you think is the problem?
Great job on the video! I cleaned my brew group, but my machine still doesn’t dispense. After taking it apart and trying to get it to run, I found if I remove the glass bead and spring it works, but makes awful coffee. The o rings on the nozzle from the machine to the brew group look to be in good shape. I have very hard water. I clean it with vinegar every time the light comes on to descale. Is my pump shot? What do you think? I’d be grateful for your input! Thank you.
Did you figure it out? I have almost the same problem. I get a red screen with error, and something KICKS the door out. If I remove the brew unit, there's a rotor noise, and then if I put it back, it makes coffee.
@@ndavid7307 After speaking with a few people, the best guess was a weak pump, so I ordered a new one. In order to get the old one out, I had to take the unit so far apart that I think it will be a miracle if I'm able to get it back together.
@@joesbarbecue1 I took it to warranty (but they denied to service it for free, saying it was my fault). They said it's the 'infuser', I don't know what the hell it's that.
Here's a happyassed update. I got the pump installed, and sure enough it brews again. I tested it brewing 5 or 6 cups, then finished reassembling the thing about 4 this morning. Somehow, I ended up one screw short. I looked everywhere for it, and it couldn't be found. So I skipped one screw in the door hinge, then set the unit back up in the kitchen so the wife could have an easy coffee before starting her early day. The good news: We found the screw! The bad news: It fell into the grinder. The machine is back on the bench awaiting a new grinder gear, and new grinding plates. I'm thinking about giving up coffee.
After removing the crema valve from the piston/tamping assembly from the brew unit of an older (5 + yrs) Saeco Exprelio Evo for the very first time, I noticed that there was no tapered spring and glass ball valve. We're these specific parts not required at the time of manufacture of my unit or could they have forgotten to install them at the factory? I took time to clean the screen and it appeared to be in good shape. I recently noticed a lot of coffee grounds scattered inside the housing. I plan on replacing the large piston O ring and hope that helps. Any other advice?
Hello! In Belarus, grease is sold in cans of 1 kilogram, in a tube of 300 grams and a tube of 100 grams. In your area, I recommend looking for yourself. If this lubricant is not available, then you can use any food-grade silicone. Good and delicious coffee!
hello! my brew group makes a really loud "CROP" noise when i try to power down my coffee machine after making coffee. I am guessing the brew group is going back to home position. Is this a sign that i need to overhaul my brew group already. i have had the coffee machine for only half year so far and made maybe less than 500 cups thus far? Kinda way too early for me to overhaul the BG for me but i thought i should ask first!
Hi! Any suggestions, please, why after servicing my brew group and changing all O rings - the fresh grounded coffee dropping over the back side of the brew group? Any idea, what I made wrong?

Hello! Most likely, you have not assembled the top valve correctly. There is a spring and a ball in the upper part. When assembling, you must first insert the ball, then the spring. The narrow part of the spring should be adjacent to the ball and the wide part to the top. Review my video with slow settings. Also, do not forget that there is a sleeve with a rubber band, then throw the ball into the sleeve, then the spring.
Bonjour!
The problem is probably not in brew unit but in the two gaskets on water valve. Take out brew unit and look inside an espresso machine, there is a "stick" with two gaskets, one bigger than other (both are very small). Change those, also change the main gasket on the piston of the brew unit (orange one).

that's not right, something goes wrong with the grinder, open it up, top cover is just 3 screws + 1 screw in the grinder, a lot of tutorials for it is available. Common issue for this machine is broken plactic around grinder, maybe that's your case
@@hungryseeker Hello ;) Thank you for your feedback. In fact I haven't updated my comment, but everything is back to normal after following this tutorial from A to Z. Hey, wonder if anyone can help me. A part of my original brew unit for my Saeco Magic de luxe coffee machine broke off, so I ordered a new one with a new spring and ball valve thing. Before everything worked ok, but now when I try to make a coffee it doesn't come through. I've observed the process with the door open and see that from somewhere near the top of the brew unit the coffee spurts out, with it all ending up in the brew unit and the bit where the old grains go. When I remove the ball from the brew unit, the coffee comes through fine but obviously really weak and not nice tasting. Could anyone advise me what exactly the problem could be here? I've cleaned the brewunit and regreased everything, ive ran the decalcifying cycle with the phillips descaling solution thing, ive tried the old ball and spring. This has all been over a long time period though (since September non-functional). Gratefuly for any help - its so heavy i dont really want to have to take it to a repair shop - ive no car! I've taken a video so can provide if would be helpful. thanks.

Merci 🙏🏽 😁
@@ndavid7307 I just found and printed the schematic and parts list. There is nothing called an infuser. They must be referring to the brew group.
Great Video ... THUMBS UP! Should something like this be done every 1 to 2 yrs to maintain your brew unit? or was this just for a specific fix?
Hello! This procedure is desirable to do 1 time per year!
Thank You !! 👍👌✌️
Great! can you pls share a link for grease type to use ? generally i can find only 5gr tubes (very expensive)
I would claim under warranty. I have my machine for a month and already brewed about 150+ cups and it is working fine.
Hi! Any suggestions, please, why after servicing my brew group and changing all O rings - the fresh grounded coffee dropping over the back side of the brew group? Any idea, what I made wrong?
The machine is a Giro Black Plus
Is the screwdriver you used to disassemble the brewing unit a Torx? Also, what is the number of the screwdriver? It is called "T" thank you soo mach

Bonjour!
My gaggia leaks coffee into the grounds drawer, half goes into the cup half into the drawer could u please tell we which o-ring to replace
The problem is probably not in brew unit but in the two gaskets on water valve. Take out brew unit and look inside an espresso machine, there is a "stick" with two gaskets, one bigger than other (both are very small). Change those, also change the main gasket on the piston of the brew unit (orange one).
what do you call the spring in 4:49? and the little ball he dropped into the hole there? i didn't have one in my coffee machine
Creamer spring / counterpiston spring / conical spring. This makes the coffe creamier.

Amazing...thank you! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Welcome!
What do you use as a cleaning liquid?
I use lye. I recommend that you use a grease remover, a cookstove cleaner.
Super thuis up

Как часто, промывать и смазывать блок, без разборки?
Промывать раз в неделю чтобы не образовывалась плесень. Смазывать 1 раз в месяц.

Hello and thank you for this very clear video.
I have a problem with my Philips Lattego 5400: I clean it roughly every 2 weeks and I find a lot of coffee grounds everywhere in the body of the machine itself. Every time the machine asks me to empty the water and coffee grounds, I find lots of coffee grounds in the dirty water container and there are coffee grounds accumulated everywhere when I remove the unit 154206 :(
However, the machine makes coffee normally, that's what I don't understand...
Could you tell me what is not working correctly?
that's not right, something goes wrong with the grinder, open it up, top cover is just 3 screws + 1 screw in the grinder, a lot of tutorials for it is available. Common issue for this machine is broken plactic around grinder, maybe that's your case
@@hungryseeker Hello ;)
Thank you for your feedback. In fact I haven't updated my comment, but everything is back to normal after following this tutorial from A to Z.
The coffee machine is working perfectly again.
The major problem was the severe lack of lubrication of the moving parts. So I strongly recommend that all users of this machine follow this tutorial and do it roughly twice a year at least.
I fear that I will never get it back together again the right way...😢
Hello, i have one question. I have EP4346 coffee machine. Yesterday i was cleaning brew unit, i removed and washed it. When i was cleaning brew unit slot area, i saw a very small washer which is dark brown color . I could not find where this washer dropped from. Do you have any idea?
Hello! Unfortunately I can't imagine where it comes from.

can you please help me ? after cleaning the brew unit, my coffee machine just gives a very light coffee even with maximum setting . do you maybe know what the issue is ? with kind regards Danny
Hello! There can be a lot of problems. I can’t guess your problem, but all the signs indicate that the board’s firmware is not working correctly. Try going into the coffee machine menu and resetting the settings to factory settings. Subsequently, the coffee machine should automatically adjust the dose of coffee within 10-15 servings.

I've taken a video so can provide if would be helpful. thanks.

Anyone knows where can I find all replacement parts for Saeco Gran Crema in Germany?
Hello sir. I need some help. How do we repair the SWITCH to pull this one out? It was forced so it lost its original position. I was trying to pull that part out while the machine was ON because I was going to put back the recently cleaned tray, and while pulling this one and pressing the switch (which is so hard while the coffee machine is on) I accidentally snapped it and never went back to its original position. Any tips please? 😢 Would highly appreciate your help.

Hello! Maybe your coffee grinder has stopped working. A foreign object could get into the grinder, thereby blocking it. I recommend that you contact the nearest service center for the repair of coffee machines. We are happy to help you, but we may be too far away from you!
We can offer you to watch our coffee grinder repair video.
