OBSERVATION and SUGGESTION..abby, thin the paint out and use flotrol added to the paint. Also, you might want to move ur truck. There is so much overspray, paint, shellac and other fine mist of what u are using all over the truck paint. Also, cut a 4x8 sheet of plywood lengthwise and get 2 of the larger harbor freight moving dollies when on sale. Attach 2 dollies to the underside of the plywood. Now you have a large rectangular 8 foot roller that u can put 3 side tables or your work pieces on and roll them in and out of your garage easier. It saves you from constantly moving each piece over and over agian. The plywood dolley also makes it easier to store your furniture in the. garage. Just roll where u need it. Taking the feet off was good. Also, IMO, very lightly distressed will make it back. When distressing came out people over did it. Every piece of furniture looked like a weathered farm fence or the side of a 100 year old barn. Your distressing is minimal, soft and elegant. It allows the furniture and its lines to be the focal point. Great vids and ur awesome.
Enjoying this series! The more of them that you refinish, the more I am liking a set that is "fraternal' and not 'identical". I think the mismatched sets add a lot of interest and character. I won't be so afraid to pick up a single night stand in the future. Thanks for sharing!
I have to think that they are. When Abby staged them, there are black frames right behind them and you can see that in comparison with the same lighting and everything, the nightstands are navy.
I love that refinishers get good money for their work. It's just not feasible in my area. I used to refinish and do a damn good job. Also my small town is always behind on trends so my items would just go over their heads and if they had the money, they don't understand why I'm selling on fb or wherever local, but they'll drop serious moola at a boutique or online. 🤦♀️
This series is so fun. I continue to be amazed at how much you can do to both make them the same identically or "fraternal twins". Paint is our friend !
I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm enjoying this series so much. I'm not personally a fan of the distressed look on furniture, but there are certainly buyers who are. I'm so impressed with your ability to make these sets look like they belong together. Awesome job!
Hey! It will be awesome that you try to flip furniture from that you find in other states ( just an idea). I saw some beautiful pieces here in south Florida and I was thinking about your project. Good luck, I love your channel!!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire series and I appreciate the amount of work that went into this project. I always describe all sets of vintage nightstands as sisters, not twins (kinda like my eyebrows😂), but you managed to make these all look good together. Thanks for the inspiration!
11:33 That set you love: it’s such a beautiful transformation! The hardware alone makes a huge difference! I’ve been on the hunt for night stands for 18 years - I know - and this proves that the same paint or stain, same hardware, and same height! I love this ❤
The distressed one I thought was ugly before your work. It's not my favourite but definitely a huge improvement. I think you made the right choice, removing the circles and the feet on the different ones.
Try adding phone chargers to these. It’s so convenient to put you phone away and wake up with it charged. Lost my house and notice hotels have them in lamps and furniture. More $$$ and buy in bulk.
Love your work! I love how you keep it real, frustrations and all! That's what it's about! Nothing ventured...nothing gained! Keep up the great work! You're inspiring to me!
I love them all. I have nightstands that are the same design but different colors and they are very satisfying to me. One is creamy white and the other slate gray. Matching lamps.
I know you haven’t done them yet but I think the natural wood tones will sell fastest. I love them all so far! I just found your videos yesterday and I’m already hooked!! You’re doing a fantastic job
I love this series so have subscribed 😊 I really like that you’re honest about the challenges of up cycling it’s clear that you are such a hard worker I wish you lots of success.
Loooooove set #4. I’m certain they sold first, but sadly - not to me. I would love a set of nightstands so I will keep an eye out at local thrift stores. After seeing your work I totally prefer a pair of sisters, not twins.
Really great series. I feel like the destressed ones almost look unfinished, mostly because its SUCH a modern paint color you can tell they have been flipped, and the distressing looks like the paint didn't give it full coverage. Totally worth the experiment, and it's obviously my personal opinion, but I would stick to the fully painted look, or feature the wood as an accent color.
I liked the distressed set the best, which is odd because it was my least favorite before the makeover. I think the “art deco” set wouldn’t have looked art deco at all had you left the trim and planted them black. I think they would’ve looked modern and would have been my favorite. Lol
I just found your videos today and I'm already obsessed with them. You have such a calm, interesting voice and you're very skilled and methodical to watch. I just couldn't get over the lifting and moving around of the night stands a hundred times lol You have so much motivation and determination. I was blown away. I have a night stand someone gave me that I've been wanting to paint for around three or four years LOL I always thought I would love to do this type of thing. I did redo a dresser for my baby when he was born and it turned out really cute. I really surprised myself. I think you've motivated me to actually redo my night stand finally! I myself like unmatched night stands. I really liked the black distressed. For my night stand I want to use chalk paint and do a stencil (One that makes it appear hand painted) Thanks for the motivation and the tips, and I guess Part 4 isn't out yet? Can't wait to watch more of your videos later. I love your dog, I had a Sheltie named Sadee. ❤Hope you get your prices for your night stands. Also I thought the white ones with the plastic were cute too.
I love this series! It’s something that no one else has done but is important. A suggestion… you might want to contain your sanding dust to keep it off your car and out of the body of water or hillside that your street run off goes to. I’m sure there are all kinds of toxins in it that can hurt wildlife. And as an older blonde, light skinned woman, I say watch out for that sun! In time lots of icky things show up. Skin cancer, SKs to name a few. Baggy cotton clothes cuts sun exposure down but keeps you cool. Am looking forward to the rest of this series!

I do like your dollie suggestion, I think I will be using it myself. I have also noted your other suggestions.
“Fraternal twins, not identical” is the best damned marketing phrase for that ever.
Hahah I love it!!! It’s all psychology 😂 I have the audacity of thinking I can create a design trend
This is the theory when drawing on your eyebrows as well!
Enjoying this series! The more of them that you refinish, the more I am liking a set that is "fraternal' and not 'identical". I think the mismatched sets add a lot of interest and character. I won't be so afraid to pick up a single night stand in the future. Thanks for sharing!
This is great to hear!!! There are so many single nightstands nobody wants for this reason and you can get super cheap or even free!
WOW, your black is showing up a deep navy for me.
Me too. Stunning work all the same.
I have to think that they are. When Abby staged them, there are black frames right behind them and you can see that in comparison with the same lighting and everything, the nightstands are navy.
There is SO MANY different shades of BLACK out there, doesn’t mean they are “Navy”.
Gorgeous!
@@Ketchme17My screen, they were definitely blue, not even close to Black.
Just when we thought distressing was dead, Abby Askew brings it back to life 👏👏👏
YES speak it into existence Katie!!!
Also wax 🔥
Also... the warmth of the dark, reddish wood underneath works really well with the anthracite paint 🥰
I love the Broyhill set in black and think those sold first. Great job!
Good guess 🙌 Thank you so much for watching!
Yes, the matching, taller last set were most expensive & first
I love that refinishers get good money for their work. It's just not feasible in my area. I used to refinish and do a damn good job. Girl, you have a high-end design style. You are doing a fantastic job. I would pay your price for your work. So nice ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!
I love the distressed set, you elevated distressing with the color choice and wax finish. Love this series.
Thank you so much!
Set #4 makes me want to redo my whole house. They’re gorgeous!!!
11:03 these look so classy and simple. beautiful :)
Can’t choose a favorite. I love how all the nightstands turned out….black and white ones.
Thank you so much!
I'm with you!
Me too!
You need more videos. I love listening and watching you while I paint! Build those playlists girl!
12:12 my favorite pair. im soo in love with the one with the curves on its doors.
This series is so fun. I continue to be amazed at how much you can do to both make them the same identically or "fraternal twins". Paint is our friend !
Thank you so much for watching!
I loved them ALL. But I agree, the distressed black ones you liked best are my favorites.
I absolutely love the black distressed mismatched set. Wish I was in the market for new furniture.
Thank you so much!
Those distressed ones are FABULOUS
Thank you!!
Your mom must be so proud of you! You are talented lady❤
I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm enjoying this series so much. I'm not personally a fan of the distressed look on furniture, but there are certainly buyers who are. I'm so impressed with your ability to make these sets look like they belong together. Awesome job!
Thank you so much for watching!! 😊 I appreciate your kind words
I hate that you took trim off set # 6. That was beautiful.
Hey! It will be awesome that you try to flip furniture from that you find in other states ( just an idea). I saw some beautiful pieces here in south Florida and I was thinking about your project. Good luck, I love your channel!!
Great idea!! It would be so fun to fly somewhere then get a U-Haul and thrift all the way back 🤣
This was a great idea for content. So far the transformations have been gorgeous. Hannah is also gorgeous.
I was thinking the same thing. I've been enjoying the transformation of each nightstand. Well done Abby!
Thank you so much!! Hannah is a sweet angel 😇
You did an excellent job again👍👍🙋🏽♀🙋🏽♀ taking off the bunt feet was a great decision 👍👍👍👍 You will get what you are asking!
Thank you! 🤗
I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire series and I appreciate the amount of work that went into this project. I always describe all sets of vintage nightstands as sisters, not twins (kinda like my eyebrows😂), but you managed to make these all look good together. Thanks for the inspiration!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching!
The distressed black sold first is my guess...
I love your puppers she is so pretty just adorable ❤
Thank you!! She’s a sweetheart
I think you did the right thing by taking the feet off. I like that the nightstands are different.
Honestly ngl the black/red set(set 4) looks really neat! as nice as the others are i think my personal favourite would be the black/red!
Thank you!! Me too!
I really do love the idea of two different nightstands. I think it’s awesome.
I think so too!
Loving this series, Abby! I’m with you and my favorite is the distressed set. I love what the black wax adds to the finish. It’s so beautiful.😍
Ugh me too!! I’m so obsessed with this black wax now
I like the broyhill set the best. I tend to like furniture with simple lines. It was a good call replacing the art deco strip.
I like art deco but they look great with both trims!
Thank you!!
Love the blue fraternal twin night stand and removing the legs was a great idea!!!
Thanks so much!
These mix and match pieces have been fun!...
Yes 🙌 hopefully I’ve inspired people to give single nightstands a chance
Abby, I the nightstand series. I cannot wait for part 4!
All night stands turned out great. My favorite is probably the distressed set.
I also think they were beautiful and the best!
Thank you !! Me too 😍
Love the oblivious pups! Great work. So fun to see your entire process. Favorite is set 4, of course. Great pricing.
Love the distressed!
Thank you :)
Love the distressed the best. ❤
Me too 😍
I think the black Broyhill will sell first out of the black sets❤
We shall see!!! 😎
I LOVE #4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9:46 I still love that you’re mixing & matching the pieces. I like an eclectic look. Beautifully done, Abby. ❤
Thank you! 😊
11:33 That set you love: it’s such a beautiful transformation! The hardware alone makes a huge difference! I’ve been on the hunt for night stands for 18 years - I know - and this proves that the same paint or stain, same hardware, and same height! I love this ❤
This is my favorite series ever!!!🙌🏼🙌🏼 You did phenomenal 👏🏼
You’re the best ❤
The distressed one I thought was ugly before your work. It's not my favourite but definitely a huge improvement.
I think you made the right choice, removing the circles and the feet on the different ones.
I love them all! You are a hard, and skilled, worker!
aww thank you so much!!
I definitely prefer the black to the white. Personal taste, but that's what 'personal' means! :)
Me too!! Dark furniture is my favorite
Love the black sets great job on all 3 I have to say the distressed set is not for me but still beautiful
Thank you so much!
Loved set #4 - nothing in my house matches! These are beautiful 🤩
Yay! Thank you! I’m so into the mismatch now!
Try adding phone chargers to these. It’s so convenient to put you phone away and wake up with it charged. Lost my house and notice hotels have them in lamps and furniture. More $$$ and buy in bulk.

Thank you!
Love the variety!!!😊
Thank you for sharing!
What a fun series! I often pair mismatched nightstands so this was right up my alley. They all look great!
Glad you like them! Thank you so much for watching!
A trick to get glue further into cracks is to hold the vacuum on the back side of the crack to suck glue through.
this is so smart!!! thank you!
@@flippedbyabby You’re welcome! love the channel, keep up the good work!
LOVE SET #4 ALSO!! GREAT JOB
Can't wait for the final video. I have been watching all.
Great job .
As a fraternal twin, I want a set if fraternal twin nightstands! 👯♀️
I was told that using bonding primer will make the paint stick excellently.😊
Hard to choose on DIY but you picked great project with the 3 different types of style
Thank you! 😊
Like the first couple best 😍
Love the redesign of the Broyhill set!
Thank you so much!
yay ! Excited to watch.you do beautiful work
Thank you so much!
I think the distressed set sold first. Love that finish.
Thank you so much! We’ll find out soon 🤫🤐
Love what you’re doing!!!

Thank you for the suggestion! The vacuum extracts the majority of the dust! Hope to have a shop with dust collection in the future!
Set #4!! 🎉
Non matchy, matchy is extremely stylish. You see it in very expensive homes all the time.
Thanks again for sharing! 💯
Keep up the great work! It sure looks like you are putting your all into it! And, Hannah is beautiful.
Thank you so much! She’s a sweet girl 🩷
I’m so glad to be on this journey with you! I’ve been waiting for part 3! I really enjoy it!
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you so much for watching!
