By FAR the clearest and most comprehensive video showing this process. It also applies identically to B7 2.0 TDI Passats (with certain engines). A massively complex job but Do-able with enough time and patience. Pity VW chose to make it so inaccessible compared to so many other manufacturers though!
For anyone in the UK attempting to follow this vid - the video says PASSENGER SIDE - this is a left hand drive vehicle - its the DRIVERS side if you're working on a right hand drive vehicle. Don't believe me? Check at the very start when the hand brake is pulled on....that's his right hand which means driver seat is on left
It's a bit weird, but though my mk.6 2.0 TDI (CLCA) looks the same, the EGR valve is just upon the throttle in the front of the engine. And it's a waaaay more easy to clean/replace it.
Well, it's too complicated in youre tutorial. In reality, you don't need to bleed the coolant, you don't need to remove the cardan shaft, definitelly don't need to remove the control arms. If you have the manual gearbox, then you don't even need to remove the oil outlet, only if you have automatic gearbox. But it's still a stupidly difficult job to do, that's for sure.
i’m in the process of cleaning my EGR cooler on my 2.0 MK6 with Liqiu Molly diesel purge, hope it saves me $400 plus the $600 in labor that I’m doing myself And why do they call this the EGR valve? for an MK6 the valve is on the top. This new part here looks like an EGR cooler

@@iGIVEH2OPE im not sure mate if that gonna help you. There is a mechanical problem in these EGR so Molly doesn’t repair it. There can also be a leak. It is an EGR with the cooler, it’s one part.

Removed the egr from hell today guys. Thank you so much for the guidance.

Hi! Thanks a lot for your comment! We’re doing our best to explain the unexplainable. 😄
Watching this like 'ok, Never mind, sorry for asking' 😂
Wow! Great video. What an absolutely ridiculous design that is though. That really is.
Perfect tutorial, just replaced the EGR on my Golf 6, 1.6 TDI , year: 2010. Huge thanks to the team!
Well done @Petyo Parvanov!
This EGR valve is a real pain in the ash.
@@UseTool_EN Thanks, it really is!
I thought my ‘11 tdi golf was a 2.0..
Easy-peasy 5min job :)
Four minutes max with the good tutorial. 😅
I love the happy no-problem background music with 'disengage the control arm, then remove the drive shaft'

These tutorials are very professional, can you make one for Golf mk6 1.6 TDI thermostat change ?
Next to give better access to the egr start to remove the engine
How long did it take to get it out
Thank you, can now see it's too big a job for me 😃
Thank you for the video, it's so helpful.
thank, everything is shown in detail
On a uk model left hand drive , I need to remove the drivers side drive shaft. ?

Only Volkswagen design cars that are so difficult to exchange or service parts!
Wait till you see a French car.
Toyota have entered chat. We absolutely hate you servicing your cars.
MINUTE 4.04 THE TOP TUBE IS NOT A 27 TORX IS A 30 TORX 3️⃣0️⃣
How about a 2.0 4motion? :D
Thanks. As they're both VAG, do you know if this procedure is very different for a 2011 Audi A3?
Hi! It shouldn’t be very different if it is the same engine since both cars are based on the same platform.
1:36... "remove the crank case". WHAT? :D
as someone familiar with this, do yourself a favor and buy an engine hoist.
Think this shows yoy how to strip your whole car 🫣😂
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

So I can follow this tutorial, but without steps which you listed? Or your way is differen? Thanks
@@mirekk.1320 You should check other videos, but yeah, with manual gearbox you can skip all of that.
if it's still so much work to replace, buy the original egr, not the manufacturer. the manufacturer's will not last more than 6 months
