- For the past 6 weeks, I attended the Yale Norfolk School of Art residency, where I and 25 other AMAZING artists lived together, ate together, and created work together. We took classes, had studio visits, a show at the end, and bonded over so many experiences. This art residency was absolutely life-changing, and I am so happy I get to share it with y'all 💕

I can’t believe I stumbled across this... i grew up in the neighboring town and worked at infinity hall (in Norfolk throughout high school). I always wondered what the residency period at the Yale school looked like! From a fellow artist this is amazing

im a senior in hs so sorry if this is a dumb question but what is a residency? do you already go to yale? why is it only 6 weeks? i feel like I've heard the word residency but I never knew what it meant
hi ☺️ im not familiar with this specific one, but a residency is usual like a type of program where a group of artists will be hosted somewhere and will then create art through the course of their stay. It can be 6 weeks, a few months, even a year and it’s I guess a space where a group of people can create together whilst feeding off of their environment (sorry for the long reply)

How do you storage your videos and edit? I'm poor and need tips (am also an artist haha)
I use my macbook pro, final cut pro editing software, and a mix of my canon m50 and iphone to record. HOWEVER, I have made so many videos using just my iphone and imovie before!
@@brettpaint nice! thank you! Are you able to sustain yourself by participating in art residences? I don't have money to pay for university so I'm learning by myself (I'm painting every day, today started a huge canvas *anxious*) and then will apply for art residencies. I feel like I'm trying to get this art world from the edges, no clue what I'm actually doing. I'm trying to find communities or other different ways to have an art community that I don't pay tuition haha. Anyway, I like your youtube channel :)

just amazed at how UGLY the art and language come from American art schools versus the art schools in Florence, Russia, etc...
