    An important reminder dear brothers and sisters! We live in a time where we have too many wannabe ''facebook scholars''. Islam is not a game where anyone can interpret and find out what Allah wants from us. This is an Important reminder, give a few minutes to see it inshaAllah.
    Some times we see Muslims being referred to as scholars when in fact they are not scholars. It is important to know what's required for a person to be considered an Islamic scholar. It is the scholars' of the religion we must adhere to, or else we are doomed to go astray. The Prophet (pbuh) said:
    ''Allaah won't remove knowledge after giving it to you by removing it (from you). Rather he will remove it from (later generations) by taking (the souls of) the scholars along with their knowledge, until only ignorant people remain. They will be asked for religious verdicts, so they will issue verdicts based on their opinions, leading others astray and going astray themselves.''

  • @mrir2008
    @mrir2008 7 месяцев назад

    Referring to the experts on the material fields while trying to make sense of what it means to be an 'Aleem-e-Deen' is not very effective. Material fields are based on objective knowledge, whereas the religious knowledge is subjective, self-reflective and to some extent intuitive. So, a scientist is supposed to be a scientist for all, but a religious scholar is a scholar only for those whose subjectivity allows them to perceive him like that.

    Brother, do you know how many hours of religion classes are there in our local masjid? One. In one hour per week, these students, how are they properly trained to recognize whether an imam is truly learned or not? If you won't teach these students the same. Why do we study advanced mathematics, physics, chemistry in regular school, but we are not taught in-depth Islam as well, over a number of years, in the same manner? When Islam is the most important subject of them all! It's easy to say, oh, one has to study for years to become a scholar. But who verifies? That is why there are fake scholars everywhere, and gullible people to believe them. Because they were not taught better. This is how our youth leave Islam. Because they don't have the proper knowledge to be able to defend Islam in the face of arguments brought by non-muslims. And so, they're going astray, because we haven't given them the tools, the key to in depth-knowledge. Not everyone needs to be a doctor. But everyone needs to hold onto their Islam. This is the difference.

    Asalamuwalaikum, I hate to critique a brother publicly, but this needs to be said. What he is saying is nonsense. He thinks his words are infallible because he has the title 'shaykh' which I have never personally accepted for anything as there was no such thing as a 'shaykh' as a religious title in Islam during the time of the Prophet (SAWS). He wants Muslims to do exactly what is condemned of Jews and Christians by Allah SWT by taking guys like him as lords beside Allah, and taking his words as infallible. Surah 9:31.
    اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا
    أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا إِلَٰهًا وَاحِدًا لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ سُبْحَانَهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
    (Translated: They have taken their rabbis and their monks (as) Lords besides Allah and the Messiah, son (of) Maryam. And not they were commanded except that they worship One God. (There) is no god except Him. Glory be to Him from what they associate (with Him).)
    Listen to him at 2:07 forward for the proof of his arrogance. It does not matter who the person is as long as they quote correctly. Even children can quote correctly, and many do. Where someone quotes correctly, there is no opinion...it is just the truth. But the arrogant who have so much pride in man-made titles such as 'shakh' usually can't take being corrected. Brother Ahmed Deedat never was so arrogant, and neither is Brother Zakir Naik. This man apparently spent years learning from 'scholars,' and he hasn't learned the basic lesson of all religions...humility. By his question, "Who are you..." he clearly has contempt for people who have no titles which shows a complete lack of humility. The opposite of humility is pride. Pride is looking down on others. Here is a translated sahih hadith on pride in Muslim (91): "It Is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), observed:
    He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise. A person (amongst his hearers) said: Verily a person loves that his dress should be fine, and his shoes should be fine. He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: Verily, Allah is Graceful and He loves Grace. Pride is disdaining the truth (out of self-conceit) and contempt for the people. "

      Wa ‘alaykum al-salam wa rahmatu’llah, I understand what you are saying, but perhaps he is only trying to convey his message and is coming across as arrogant or prideful. I got that impression as well, but perhaps it was just in his way of speaking and not really what he is feeling. Allah knows what is inside his heart.
      I agree with what you were saying about the titles, but in the time of the prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when one had a doubt or a question, they would go see the prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, it was a pretty easy process. Today, with a simple search you can find an answer, but you don’t know who is who and who runs what website and there are some contradictions between the websites, anyways, to get to my point... Today there are people who say they know when they do not. They give you an answer to your question, but they don’t back up their statements with any evidence whatsoever. That’s what I find problematic, so I refer myself to people of knowledge, who have studied Islam throughly and quote ahaadith or verses of the Qur’an when they answer a particular question. His word isn’t infallible, but those of the ahaadith and the Qur’an are and the sheikhs and people of knowledge refer to those. They just explain it, really.

      U are not only criticizing him but also ur making people criticize him by planting the seed of a wrong picture in people's mind through ur comment.

    Worst answer ever.......

  • @thischickridesbikes
    @thischickridesbikes 4 года назад

    Hard to compare doctors, mechanics etc. You see, when there is a problem with your car, there is always a definitive solution. Even if mechanics do not initially agree on the cause of a problem, it can be tested to see who is right. Your car wont start and you take it to a mechanic and he says it’s the battery and another mechanic says its the starter motor, and yet another says it’s the spark plugs. Now we have conflicting answers to this question. Each can be tested to see where the true answer lies. With scholars you cannot have a definitive answer on some problems such as drinking of alcohol, wearing of nail polish etc.
    You mention not just reading a text book but actually practicing to be a doctor. How are you actually practicing to be a scholar. You say that you have to sit for years with scholars and learn the texts. So if I sit for years with a doctor and read medical texts, am i qualified to practice medicine? The comparison you make is not very convincing.

    • @zahid4902
      @zahid4902 4 года назад +1

      To me, the comparison is apt. A person who reads books of medicine but doesn't attempt to see and diagnose patients will fail to learn the practical application of what he reads in his books of medicine (i.e. the truth and usefulness of medicine). He fails to understand even the most basic application of medicine to the real world, to real people.
      This is similar to the person who reads books of hadith and tafseer, and fails to speak to a master of this knowledge, and then fails to apply it in the real world, real situations that call for 'hikmah' (wisdom) and 'itjihad' (independent reasoning). Indeed, the religion of 1400 years old, but is applicable to 2020, however, one who only reads books and fails to bridge the gap between theory and application is no scholar. This person read theory and then convinced himself that he is someone of 'ilm' (knowledge). He has gained no such thing... just like the 'doctor' who read his books but never treated a single patient.
      On your references: There is consensus among the scholars of Islam that alcohol is forbidden, likewise, if nail polish is impermeable, then it invalidates ablution. The two issues are not particularly contentious. Though, of course, I agree that you can't always have a definitive answer in Islam. There are grey areas (these actually give the religion flexibility), and the general principle is that where there is a legitimate difference of opinion, it is wrong to impose your view onto another person (an example is the length of the beard).
      So then, we see it is not necessary to have a definitive answer, as long as one follows something that is within the accepted spectrum of teaching (for most muslims, that is anything that is found within the four schools of jurisprudence: Hanafi, Maliki, Hanbali and Shafi'i).
      On your point on testing, 'fiqh' (jurisprudence) is based on evidence. If I ask a scholar for a ruling, I can trust that he will provide me with an answer that is underpinned by evidence, through his knowledge of the books of fiqh along with his practical training. The evidence scholars rely on is what is called the 'sunnah' (the way of the prophet, i.e. his actions and teachings) and classical interpretations pertaining to this (those interpretations of the 'Salaf' - the first three generations of muslims). Any muslim who endeavours to follow the Salaf will sure find the authentic Islam and can rest in knowing he is following the religion of the Prophet, peace be upon him.
