Hi Cynthia. Hi Cynthia Hi Cynthia Hi Cynthia!😅😅😅😅😅😅 I just wanted to make sure you knew I said hi!!! Last year was the first year I participated to in project dress a girl. I heard briefly about it the year before but I was just starting my channel a few months before and did not really know much. Your dresses are beautiful.
I sew the right side of the bias binding to the wrong side of the neckline and armholes. That way when you turn it, you top stitch from the right side of the dress instead of the wrong side. It makes a nice finished look with less stress.
Lovely dresses. I did versions c and f in the one you did last year and am now working on larger sizes. I, like you, hoped to get 5 done, but am not sure I am going to get them finished in time.
I like the fabrics and the pattern you chose. I wish more patterns were as versatile as yours. I also agree with you about lining versus binding. I don't really mind binding edges, but it's not my favorite part of sewing. I can only imagine the face on a little girl when she sees her new dress! It really stuck me today how confident you've grown in your sewing abilities, rightfully so because you've grown so much in your skills since you started this channel. Thank you for sharing your journey with me! There's been zero sewing here. The repainted treadle base has been living on my cutting table. It's finally been highlighted with gold leaf, and we just have to touch up a few spots. Now my husband will start making a test top before he cuts into the birch butcher block. It's kind of hard to complain about not having a cutting table and it's been a busy few weeks so I haven't minded. I took a pair of my son's favorite pants apart and will make a pattern when my table is cleared, but I'm still not motivated to sew. We will be visiting our friend in Boone this week, so I am really looking forward to being back in the mountains! I hope the weather cooperates and it doesn't rain.
Oh, I hope you have great weather in Boone too . I know it’s been sunny and warm this weekend. It’s beautiful up there in that area too. Thank you for your kind words. I do feel like I have grown too. I’m glad that you and a few others have followed me from the beginning. Perhaps when your husband is finished working and you get your table back, your sewjo will return. 😊👋
@@nadinewoods6971 Thank you. We need prayers in WNC. We’re fortunate compared to some communities. We have no power and lost all communication (until today). Thank God we have limited cell service.
@@MountainAccentsSewing I am so thankful. I hope your parents are okay. I know many people had it much worse. A friend has had all road access to her area washed out and has no electricity. Some homes in her area flooded, but she was blessed that hers didn't. My heart breaks for all of you. I will continue to pray. If there is anything I can do please let me know.
Your dresses are so beautiful. I loved the design and used that pattern and loved mixing prints but I found that 1/4 inch elastic a bit hard to work with. I would like to find a way to gather a neckline without the elastic. I made the size 7 but year will choose a pattern for a larger size, 12 or 14. I want to experiment more with ruffles, flounces, gathers, and ties.
I'm learning to sew Thank you. I can't wait until next year and I'm able to make a new dress.
Very pretty little dresses!
Thank you 😊

Thank you for this tip! 😀❤️

I agree. That 1/4 inch elastic is so tricky.
