Beautiful fabrics. I am not very experienced or talented sewist but have participated since the first year. You're so right about not needing a lot of experience. " Just do it" It is so rewarding. Everyone wins.
Yes indeed everyone wins!! Thanks for watching.
Cute combos! That butterfly fabric is adorable 🥰
It really is! I might try to grab some more lol
I love this pattern. It’s so cute and satisfying when you do that top stitching in one fell swoop. ❤
It’s a keeper for sure. Thanks for hosting again this year Mari!!
Beautiful fabrics!! Yes joining in for the 3rd year. ❤ pillowcase style dresses, peasant dresses, (free patterns) and a few simplicity patterns
Wonderful! Thank you for participating.
Great encouragement video. This is my second year participating out of the four years. I did a tie dress as newbie sewist during the pandemic and I had some of same concerns about skills needed. But the beauty of PDAG is the simplicity of the requirements, no buttons or zips. You can do a lot with mixing prints, gathering and bias bindings. Simple styles really showcase the fabric. Quilting cottons are great fabrics for dresses. Hacking allows you to see possibilities beyond what’s on the pattern envelope. And, PDAG is a very worthy cause. Your dresses are stunning 😮
Thank you!!
I liked your signs! 📜📜
lol. We’re real high tech over here 🤣🤣
I used Butterick 5876 last year! And I used Butterick 3860 this year! It's easy to hack a pattern to meet the guidelines! Your dresses are lovely! ~Nancy
Thanks Nancy. They both a definitely in my top picks for girl dress patterns!
Beautiful hacks. You are very talented!!
Thank you! Every project is a new learning opportunity.
Thank you great informative video re the hacks. This is my second year of getting involved - last year I made five popover sun dresses & so far this year completed four with six more cut out. All of these are for a twelve year old, as they mentioned they don’t get as many of this size. I’ve also downloaded Alisa’s hack on the dress she did last year & hope I can make a few of these as well. Just waiting for Jaqui Onslow our ambassador in the UK send me the labels. Thank you again.❤
That is awesome Alison! The popover is such a quick and lovely make.
Thank you so much for sharing your hacks and the websites for free patterns. I agree with just doing it. I started this year and I was shocked that I can make them! I appreciate your input on how we can hack the dresses to make it easier. 🙂 Wow, I love the fabrics you cut to make the dresses. I need to learn to batch cut. I downloaded the petal dress, printed it, but could not figure it out 😞
You are so welcome! What part did you get stuck on?
@@85thAndWade I coudn't understand how to put the pages of the PDF together to make it make sense. If I don't see a tutorial, I'm pretty much done. 😞Thank you for asking to try to help me. Unless, you are willing to make a video showing how to put the PDF pattern otether. That would be grerat for people like me that are not used to it.
I am making pillowcase dresses but they're not from pillow cases. It's just the name of them. Stop by and see the video today.
You’re right Zelda. The pillowcase style is great, just not the retail material off the retail shelves. Thanks for stopping by!!
