      To be fair, anyone that can afford one only lease them. And they'll most likely return it way before their lease is up. This is common with any lease where the vehicle's MSRP is over $200K.

    • @v12-s65
      @v12-s65 10 месяцев назад +7

      @@chifineart why always lease? Leasing is the reason why car prices went sky rocketing cause suddenly everybody could afford nice & expensive cars. Your rates are still high as hell and at the end when you give the car away after 4 years you paid an extra of like 3-4% yearly interest, spent a ton of cash and end up with no car.
      Pro tip: have enough money so you don't give a damn or buy (lease if you don't wanna bother selling) a 1-2 year old car with +30% depreciation behind it if you care about your money.
      Myself I bought a 3 year old Amg with 50% off msrp instead of leasing, cause that would cost me 2-3 times as much yearly. Done 25'000km car has lost 7grand in value over a period of 2 years that would be ~ 300 bucks a month lmao. Keep it one more year and easily sell it after 👍🏼
      After selling end up spending 10 grand instead of 40

      @chifineart 10 месяцев назад

      @@v12-s65 Trust me, I don't get it either but the majority of buyers of $200K+ cars do it this way. I just purchased a McLaren and the things you see is outrageous. People leasing a car and then return it just to lease another one 2 months later. It's very very common. They lose money on it every time they do this but it doesn't seem to phase certain customers at all. These are also the same customers that do not look to buy - ever - if it's new, used etc. They create a funnel of used/leased cars to be sold to folks that save thousands. The common thing I see with these high end car customers is this: They want X supercar but X currently isn't available or because it's a custom made, the customer will need to wait say, 3 to 6 months for it. So they lease Y supercar to "fill the gap" temporarily. So they lease Y supercar. Then suddenly, a month later, a dealer in another state says they have the X supercar the customer wanted. So in turn, that customer will drive Y supercar to that dealership, turn in the lease, then lease the X supercar. This happens a LOT. I can't tell you how man McLarens on the lot were only leased for less than 2 months because they were "filler" cars for customers waiting on the vehicle they really wanted.

The only thing about them was they were heavily outdated with tech and interior look from 2005. These new ones are much much nicer, and design is gorgeous, however one key difference is that there is now WAY WAY more better competition that there was when these were first originaly around. Gonna be a tight market, especially since something like a Porsche Carrera S with similiar specs starts at 120k$, and u can get a top spec turbo S for 250k.

    Every time I see a Maserati, I can't help but think of cheap Chrysler parts bin interiors, even if that's not the case any longer. Certainly nowhere near a $250K car though... there are so many better choices well below that price point.

    My ace bought a pre-owned Quattroporte some years back. It's been fairly reliable, but the real problem is the dealership network. He's in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), a city you'd think would be covered by a decent dealer or two...it's not. Then, if something goes wrong, no matter how big or small, it takes forever and a day to get a part.
    Still, he smashes that V8 and it all goes away.

    A cigar smoking greaser is exactly the type of guy who'd buy this car, and that's why it's priced at $250k. A true automotive enthusiast knows how to spend their money, and if they had $250k, it wouldn't be on this car. Sadly, nothing in this review has convinced me that it's even worth half that price.
