I had a real A**H0LE of a math teacher in high school who kept accusing me of being high in class. The reality was A) I was wearing contacts that irritated my eyes and B) his teaching style was incredibly uninspiring and he treated people like dummies if they didn't understand his lessons right away. I didn't touch any drugs until after I graduated high school, but he just continued to get more and more vindictive. On a positive note, I'm a teacher now and I use this guy as an example of how not to treat my students.

Man that’s a total 180 from a few of the teachers I had in high school. I still remember my chemistry teacher had a few plants growing in the closet of the classroom. It was hilarious because me and my best friend had to sneak them out and into the woods behind the school when the county police came to do a drug sweep/lockdown. Similar stuff happened around there a lot, it was out in the countryside and a lot of that stuff was being grown everywhere at the time. Before meth and meth labs started ravaging the rural areas.

Recently in Dec 2023 a girl named Maya Kawolski was awarded $237 million because both the ER doctor and the child services agent made immediate assumptions that the mother was abusing her. The girl had an ongoing medical issue that they ER doctor didn't believe she had it. Well, they later found the smoking gun. It wasn't just one case, it was a full on class action lawsuit against this doctor. This whole ordeal led to her mother taking her own life. Sometimes professionals with children are so arrogant, they don't stop think they could be wrong on occasion.

The problem is the administrators ego wouldn’t allow him or herself to be proven wrong regardless of how many clean tests. Once it was discovered they were wrong they immediately went into ego defending mode and tried standing on solid ground which didn’t exist. Ultimately what this administrator has clearly shown is that he or she is not capable of doing the job and should be fired, bottom line. I agree with the ones below that say this should result in a lawsuit only settling with the firing of this incompetent individual along with a public apology to the student and her parents. And I guess it should also translate to remedial training for the entire school district staff on how to not let something so stupid happen again in the future. But in the world we live in that probably makes too much sense.

I just saw the story in TikTok and I came here, the fact that they dismissed the first drug test kind of comes off like they were looking for a reason to suspend her, and then, as you watch the original video of the meeting with the principal, they’re trying so hard to cover their own asses, it astounds me that when it comes down to it people just can’t admit that they’re wrong, and their system is flawed

So basically, if you are non-contagiouly I'll or have allergies, you're not allowed to school? Do they have an at home program for those temporarily and/or permanently disabled? Or are we going back to discrimination against disabled persons?

I had a nun in high school who called me into the office to "question" me about an upper class female who was "missing". She explained "several students saw you driving her in your car, you were seen smoking marijuana with her in your car". I did not know this girl, she had never been in my car, and i did not smoke cigarettes much less marijuana. I told the nun this. When i told my father about this he asked some questions. Found out later he called his attorney who sent a letter to the school. The nun pulled me aside at a basketvall game after school hours to tell me to tell my dad she was "sorry". I have hated the Catholic Church ever since. That woman never apologized to me! 6 years later when my only sister did not get into NHS she blamed ME, because the nun used to call her by my name, not hers.

I went to a high school that accused me of doin drugs. I wuz talkin to some kids and we wuz havin a conversation bout flu shots and the kids in my class said that they hated needles and I said that I wuz used to the shots. Then some fucker told admin that I wuz using drugs. So the nurse called me into the office and checked my arms for drug marks. They found nothin obviously. Schools act so damn entitled treatin kids however they want. Fuckin sick.

This country is really poorly educated on drugs. Even if she was high, really, throwing her into an alt school? Its not like she was suspected of using meth. I had classmates who smoked pot off campus, and they still finished high school without issue. Its just insane that not only do they not know what being high actually looks like, but that they were gonna throw her out for good over it.

Along with the stress of a public false accusation, her STAR test was sabotaged. No idea how the inept school can make this right, but at the very least they need school-wide retraining, a public admission that they were wrong, and an apology.

Public School Administrators can be vindictive, and from my experience they can and do hold a grudge. They will ruin your child’s academic career capriciously. School Resource Officers might even assist them.
Tread lightly. But if you decide to pursue legal action, put your child in a private school first, or home school.

*The **_ONLY_** way I made it through High School **_WAS_** ANTIHISTAMINES! Allergic responses are NO FUN, and the usual treatments, i.e. "antihistamines," can sometimes be worse than the allergic responses.*
In College I drug myself through nearly the 2nd semester of Chemistry (my 2nd try at it before realizing that the antihistamine I was taking was what was TOTALLY MESSING UP MY BRAIN! After waiting a FULL YEAR to repeat that class, I came back to the same College, same class, AND THE SAME INSTRUCTOR, _BUT_ NO ANTIHISTAMINES that time. When I got to the Final Exam, I not only received 100% on the entire Exam, but on the _FINAL QUESTION_ --- I CORRECTED THE TEACHER'S METHOD OF CALCULATING THE ANSWER. *THUS, I WAS RIGHT, & **_HE WAS_** WRONG!*

When I was in high school, I was under weight (85 lbs) with low blood pressure from heart defects from birth. Because of this, I was often woozy and foggy brained. I could've totally been labeled as drunk.
It's weird how often schools are trying to pin medical issues as reason for kicking out kids, rather than trying to work with them to help the situation.

Yeah, I would have told the principal that NO ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST MY child WITHOUT any concrete proof. If he still insisted on punishment without proof, I would have given the school board that they had a week to remove that administrator from the school board or I would personally do it myself. I already said that to a principal in regards to a teacher when I had to go into the school for an emergency "parent" teacher conference in regards to a situation with my nephew when the teacher saw me, explained the problem, and then threw some personal digs at me because she wanted to show who had the bigger acorns, yes, I looked a little unkempt as I was woken up by my mother to go deal with it because she couldn't drive, and was rather ill, so asked me to go pick him up, as That's all she thought I needed to do, so looked past the teacher, and told the secretary, nicely, "Please get the principal now." To which the teacher told me I can't speak to the principal, I needed to get out of her school and go back to my "drug den", to which I turned once again to the secretary and repeatedly the request, very loud. The secretary I think tried to call the principal, as she just pushed the intercom button, but, he had already heard the yell, and was running out his door by the last syllable. The teacher was demanding the staff to forget the principal, and call the police instead, but the principal was already out, saw me, recognized me, and, shortly after I recognized him. He was a regular customer at the restaurant I worked at. He and his family came in every Sunday after church, and 8 out of 10 times ended up at my table. When he asked what I was doing there, I told him the situation, what she told me my nephew did, and that I would deal with it, but, then went onto what personal digs the teacher said to me, including the "drug den" comment, the teacher cuts in and tells me to shut up and tells the secretary to call the police, and, the principal threatened to fire the first person that did call him. The secretary, and the poor lady sitting in the bench in the office, who I'm assuming had an appointment to meat with someone in the office, backed up what I said, then I gave him the "you have a week to get rid of her or I will" edict. Apparently, she lost her teacher license, and was fired, and someone in the district office did too, as she had crossed a few lines and the person in the office was covering up a lot of her misdoings. Did have a talk with my nephew, who after what was said by the teacher but before the storm, I gave him my keys and told him to wait in the car, to which he did with a disappointed look on his face. He and his cousin, my niece, one of the things they love the most was to be there when someone stepped over the line with me, and watch me give the transgressor the tongue lashing of all tongue lashings. He was disappointed he didn't get to watch, but, since this was at a school, and I was trying to pretend at having a modicum of propriety, I sent him outside. And, I grounded him from his video games for the rest of the week, which was four days. For a fifth grader that lived on the SNES and the Sega Genesis, that's a lifetime. My mother always had me deal with his discipline because I actually understood him, and explain why he was getting disciplined, and, she would wanted to keep my dad out of the discipline because he would make the grounding, lecture for 90 minutes, starting the whole lecture over and repeating it then start increasing the grounding for an extra week each time one would tune out, or appear to until the person he was lecturing was grounded for six months. Man, it's hard to believe that little fifth grader is now 40. Sorry for the word vomit. This did get away from me.

Shoot, that was not near as bad as what they accused my son of back in the 90s - I received a call from the school (Palo Duro, Amarillo TX) telling me that I needed to meet with the Principal and Laison Officer that morning. I inquired as to what the issue was and was told that my child had been accused of beating up a fellow student the day before and that they had "multiple witnesses". "Really", I replied a bit surprised and asked when it was supposed to have happened.
The Principal told me the time and I replied, "That would be impossible". Now it was the Principal's turn to sound surprised. I then explained that he needed to check the call records from the day before as I had called my son in sick, furthermore because he was not feeling well (and I did not want to leave him alone to his own devices) I took him to work with me.
After relaying all this information to the Principal I added that I could call the store and ask them to pull their security tapes. He declined and the matter was dropped, at least on our end.
Oh, the store I was servicing that day was in Borger. My son may have been alone all of 15 - 20 minutes during the time frame I was given by the Principal and now it is a running joke between my son and me that I gave birth to the FLASH ... because he would have had to run all the way back to Palo Duro, assault the alleged victim and make it back to Borger in a FLASH (no my son was not on the track and field team).

They thought I was ‘high’ when I was sober, yet didn’t seem to notice when I was blasted out of my skull. A friend & I once met up with two teachers, & the principal, outside our school, & the conversation turned to the subject of drug abuse. They claimed to always be able to “tell”, & they unanimously thought I might be “high”, but my friend was sober (in reality, they had it completely backwards) this trend continued my years at this school, they never busted me, because I never had any drugs (at least not when they suspected me,) I always thought “the war on drugs” was misguided stupidity….
