Steve Walsh's voice on "Somewhere to Elsewhere" is mind bogglingly awesome!!!! It just sends shivers up my spine!!!

@Jay_Tee2023 - To me, Steve sounds like his voice is a bit raggedy, but he’s so damn good that the emotional impact is still there. No other singer gets hits me straight through the heart like Steve, my favorite singer for the past 49 years. The Coming Dawn alone is worth the price of admission. Incredible, classic Kansas song! Livgren and Walsh were seemingly born to collaborate.

Masque is a mixed bag, because the execs were putting increasing pressure to make hits. But Icarus, Child of Innocence, M&M and the Pinnacle are classics.

Masque is in my top 3. Sometimes it's number 1 depending on my mood.

"Curtain of Iron" really fits the current times again, especially now with a madman leading Russia. Apparently, Vinyl Confessions is Rich Williams' least favorite. PoKR is my #1, magical album sounding like it was recorded in another dimension.

Kansas has been my No. 2 ever since I first heard them in 1976 (right behind RUSH). I just saw them twice for the 50th Anniversary Tour.

Audio-Visions is sooooo underrated and this video is proof. You think it’s ok. Ok? You think the song Don’t Open Your Eyes is meh. The song is awesome. Listen to the instrumentation on that. Not all their songs have to be Song For America to be great songs. It also doesn’t fall in the trying to make a hit or satisfy the record company stuff either. That album in NO WAY is trying to sound 80’s. Nothing in the 80s sounded even close to that. Relentless just ok? Bua ha ha ha. As a trying to get radio play song it’s excellent. It was their attempt at a Carry On Wayward son hit on that album. It didn’t accomplish that but accomplished making an awesome song anyway. I know it’s a matter of taste, man. Your video was entertaining anyway.

His comment about “No One Together” being OK blew my mind, it’s their most progressive song since Howlin’ At The Moon.

@@baldridgeroy Does your list include Drastic Measures? And if it does, are you saying that you think DM is also better than AV?

I could make a case for Kansas, Song For America, Masque, Leftoverture and
Point of Know Return for all being No. 1-But I will put Leftoverture @1. Point
of Know Return @2. Masque @3.
Song For America @4. and Kansas @5.
At any point no other Kansas albums
should come into these top 5. They
are all masterpieces, PERIOD!!! I saw
Kansas 5 times all when they had released all of these albums. The
best show was the Leftoverture tour.
    1976 Milwaukee Riverside Theater
About a three hour show with 4
encores. They played just about their
whole catalog. I was in the first row,
Top 5 concert of all time.

Nice rankings of Kansas!! Just found your channel cause I wanted to see your Glass Hammer rankings.. Not many people know of that band, but my brother went to Belmont U when they played there. Anyway you can do a 1970s Styx ranking? Some good deep cuts on the Wooden Nicklel albums

Nice list. Masque is higher for me and the two newest are great but fall just outside of my top 6 or 7. I like Vinyl Confessions as well.
Just saw them a couples months ago and they are killing it on tour. Back to form as good as when I saw the original lineup in '80. Point of Know Return (my #1) in its entirety was somethings to see.

You completely are coming from this not from the perspective of someone who lived through this but definitely an outsider. People of the South Wind was the single from that album and is considered by many to be an unofficial State Anthem. Nice try but, fail here bud

Only song on Power that I can listen to many times is the track called “ Three Pretenders”…it stands out from the rest imo.
I am a Kansas purist honestly…past Monolith ( one of my personal favs ) I just get bored…the legendary energy is just not there anymore..Steve’s voice starts to sound stressed…the song writing and creativity is lacking .
