Hi Anniken, hope your mother makes a full and speedy recovery. I'm very impressed that you managed to make a podcast this week in spite of all the unexpected travel and hospital visiting

Oh dear - what a horrible situation. Do hope your Mum recovers well. Don't apologise for the lighting - amazed you managed to post anything at all! Love the wry look to camera in the snow - you didn't knit a hat for yourself! 🫠 Keep safe, thinking of you and signing up for your brioche course meanwhile! 🫣

@DarylBatCarer-ms7od thank you 😊 Wasn't impressed with the snow because I had to drive home. Has snowed lots more today. I like it when it's sunny with snow on the ground but not when it's actually snowing.

@AnnikenAllis it's horrible having to drive in snow. Snow is only really nice when you can stay safe indoors and don't need to venture out!

Anniken, you just never know what is around the corner do you? I am so sorry to hear about your mother, but I am glad that she came through the surgery successfully and that you were able to get there safely. The color yarn you chose for your next pair of socks is really pretty.

@catharineking8640 thank you Catharine. You're so right. You just don't know what will happen which is probably for the best. She's doing much better & has been moved closer to home now so a lot less driving every day.

Hello Anniken. I do hope all goes well with your parents. It’s quite a stressful time for you. I appreciate your podcast especially at this time.
I’m currently making socks but would like to ask you if you’ve ever made bed socks. I would like to make some and I’m thinking perhaps a DK pattern with a sock yarn and mohair. Maybe alpaca with nylon.

Hello Rosina, I don't know what yarn weight and patterns Anniken uses for bedsocks but personally I find a 4-ply/fingering weight yarn is warm enough for them even though I get really cold feet at night. Any sock pattern should work for bedsocks, but I usually make them a little bigger than my normal socks and because they don't get such hard wear as daytime socks it's nice to use soft luxurious yarns - alpaca ones would be lovely, especially as it's warmer than wool but light

@rosinagreenwell1143 thank you. Most of my hand-knitted socks are 'bed socks'. I mainly wear hand-knitted socks in bed & pilates classes because my feet are always cold. I've never knitted specific bed socks though.

@ thank you. I was thinking of some fluffy ones for gifts. So much better than ready made.
