When it comes to the Conqueror's Haki, I keep seeing an idea floating around that, prior to Luffy using his to stop Ace's execution, Whitebeard was actually attempting to use his own Haki, but was too weakened to do so.
I think Whitebeard did unleash some Conquerors Haki in the Paramount War. In the scene where he meets Luffy and is visibly sizing him up, he spins his weapon and slams it on the ground, everyone reacts to that and at least one person in the battlefield passes out from it. When Luffy just stands there with no reaction, then Whitebeard turns and appears to treat Luffy as more of an equal.

Actually the goal of that execution was to kill Ace, merely because he was the son of Gold Roger. And for that they risked an attack from Whitebeard thinking it was worth it. Sengoku even says it
i really love the usj monument of whitebeard and ace's grave and that awesome quote about their lives. i really love that whitebeard had such a wholesome and blunt in ideal goal about just wanting a family and how his strength is more a secondary goal(along with being a good written "strongest character in the series"that isn't dwelled upon by the other characters with none of them really having a flat out become the strongest in the world goal, something that some other shonen jump series especially dragonball could learn from.) with him having no interest in the one piece (kinda like how luffy is after one piece just for him and his friends to be free and not for any treasure or fame outside of being a pirate captain as great as shanks.:3) and its cool how a lot of fans just went with calling him whitebeard and didnt notice much his actual beard being a mustache, speaks about how much a badass he was.
Can we also mention that White Beard is probably the only person I recall ever seeing channel his devil fruit power through his weapon. Didnt occur to me before, but thats incredible, and must've been his 'awakening'
The reason I love whitebeard is the fact he is honorable and somewhat humble. I also love the fact he's not arrogant and knows his own limits. Whitebeard in fact definitely could have been the king of the pirates but he wanted something with more value and that was a family. That was his real treasure. I love how whitebeard is also feared and respected by his enemies. I love the fact that even though he's really kind hearted he will in fact take you out if any harm comes to the people he care about.
The opening is Whitebeard's words to Ace after the Spade pirates fell at the hands of one of his division ships. It doesn't sound tyrannical at all, despite Edward Newgate holding massive manpower and the most powerful Paramecia Devil Fruit at his command. This guy is the guy you would want to place in power in any of the stories and legends you read of knights, chivalry, and the pursuit of ultimate goodness in the world. Rest in Peace on the island you called home, alongside the son of your greatest rival and the most infamous of your sons, Whitebeard.
I'm pretty sure Whitebeard used Haki (all three) during marineford.. Especially *conquerers haki* when Luffy challenged him after stopping crocodile he hit his ship with his staff and a Shockwave knocked out marines and his own crew
Probably in the comments already but at one point WhiteBeard did try to us his conqueror's haki right before Luffy used it in order to prevent being Ace from being executed but seemed unable to focus implying either as a result of his wounds or a result of his age he lacked the stamina to do it (at least in the anime, I'm not familiar enough with the manga to know for sure if the scene was anime only)
Whitebeard said he wanted to use it but couldn't, which leads me to what reileigh said in saobody, where he used conquerers twice and couldn't use the power anymore. This could be due to stamina, and seeing how old and sick whitebeard is, i believe that he just couldn't use it due to some sort of limitation.

So it’s true both notable characters nanowire to have beard in their names do not have traditional beards. Also another fact for whitebeard is his design can be said to be like that of former WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan
He reminds me of Yohrm the Giant a lot. They are both large and use quite similiar weapons, but it's not where similarities end. WARNING Dark Souls 3 spoilers! Yohrm the Giant, also known as lone ruler was elected a ruler of Profaned Capital. As an ancestor of a tyrant who enslaved them, he was hated by the people of capital, but these weak people had no choice but to elect him so they would have a protector. That's the opposite of Whitebeard's family, who might hate him at the start but will eventually learn to love him. Even thought he was hated, Yohrm was doing everythink in his power to protect his people, commonly throwing himself into battle as one-man army, and Whitebeard does the same for his family. Yohrm came even further to gain his people's trust. He gave them a Stormbreaker, one of two greatswords that were rumored of being capable of taking down any Giant with a single hit (seven hits in Yohrm's case). That reminds me of how Whitebeard's sons could atack him and he still forgive them afterwards. The second Stormbreaker landed in the hands of Yohrm's best friend after he promised, that if Yohrm will ever run from his duty, he would chase after him and even kill if that's needed. However, the world was dying, and Yohrm's kingdom was no exception. In order to save it, Yohrm sacrificed himself together with four other lords of Cinder (A title gave for the strongest) in order to link the flame and keep the world alive. However, his sacrifice had the completely opposite effect, and Profaned Capital died after a fire rained on it. That reminds me of how hard Edward was trying to save Ace, and still failed while also dying and strenghtening Blackbeard. But Yohrm's story doesn't end here, because first linking of the fire wasn't enought, and years later, after many failed attempts of linking it again, five lords of cinder were ressurected. However, seeing what happened to his city BECAUSE he linked the fire, Yohrm ran from his duty, because he didn't want to hurt others by linking the fire again. And so, his friend, with Stormbreaker in hand, chased after him. In a boss fight against him, I was so amased by everythink about him, that I didn't use a stormbreaker, fighting him with a normal sword instead, thus making the battle longer, more epic and victory more satisfying.
At 1:35 you can clearly see He-Man in Whitebeard's crew. This further proves that he is the strongest man in the world if even He-Man serves under him.
"Shirohige" is without question intended to be translated to "Whitebeard." The real pirate Blackbeard's name was Edward Teach. Oda purposely split that name up to Marshall D. Teach (One Piece Blackbeard) and Edward Newgate (Whitebeard). The namesake of the two pirates clearly informs what their names should be in English.
Kinda a weird story to share but It relates to the epathet at the end of the video. I was working retail a few years ago and my boss at the time was an angry 60-70 year old, at the time as a joke some of the other employees would call each other dad. Most of us were between 18-25 so it wasn't so bad. The joke was brought to a grinding halt by everyone when in view of everyone my boss called the newest hire who was 16, daddy.
After flashback it now makes sense why Rogers met and wanted to give location of one piece to Whitebeard Because it was a member of Whitebeard pirates who Rogers loaned for a year to be pirateking

The anime did mess up the stabbing scene of WB by squardo. You can clearly see there that the blade is going right through WBs torso so he should have a wound on the back. But then later it was shown that he didn't.

i really love the usj monument of whitebeard and ace's grave and that awesome quote about their lives. i really love that whitebeard had such a wholesome and blunt in ideal goal about just wanting a family and how his strength is more a secondary goal(along with being a good written "strongest character in the series"that isn't dwelled upon by the other characters with none of them really having a flat out become the strongest in the world goal, something that some other shonen jump series especially dragonball could learn from.) with him having no interest in the one piece (kinda like how luffy is after one piece just for him and his friends to be free and not for any treasure or fame outside of being a pirate captain as great as shanks.:3) and its cool how a lot of fans just went with calling him whitebeard and didnt notice much his actual beard being a mustache, speaks about how much a badass he was.
You are so underrated my guy keep up the great work
Thanks for the kind words, good sir! :D
"I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with a 72-year-old man making his employees call him daddy is a bad thing-"
Can we also mention that White Beard is probably the only person I recall ever seeing channel his devil fruit power through his weapon.
Didnt occur to me before, but thats incredible, and must've been his 'awakening'
Hadn't even thought of that great observation
Fujitora does it as well, but yes that is a nice observation!
5:55 It is implied that he was not able to focus due to his sickness. Re-read/watch Marineford after WCI and you will see the moment when he tries
Whitebeard the goat. My favorite character in the series
10:35 I'm so glad I watched till the end.
Rest in Peace on the island you called home, alongside the son of your greatest rival and the most infamous of your sons, Whitebeard.
i don’t know how you can make any quote sound so badass
His voice 😅
0:38 can we just appreciate how smooth white beard palm is
Living in a dorm, always been boring.. yet, the fun from this video cheered me up no matter how tired i am..
R.I.P Whitebeard voice actor Kinryu Arimoto
Wish we could’ve seen more from whitebeard, he was gone too soon
Maybe that was the point? It serves another reason for us to hate Blackbeard.
I love the fact that you keep the same music for 101 videos!
Whitebeard is still one of my favorite characters in one piece and in anime in general. His power and personalty is so good
Now Imagine if Garp had whitebeards devil fruit and he decided to become a pirate king?? Hmm..
NOTHING CAN STOP THE FIST OF LOVE!
This could be due to stamina, and seeing how old and sick whitebeard is, i believe that he just couldn't use it due to some sort of limitation.
whitebeard did try to use conquers haki when ace was about to be pre prematurely exocuted. but his heart started acting up and the couldnt activate it
Got home lit from the bar and wanted to hear bout G.O.A.Tbeard and Grandline review delivers ALSO Watch this video till the end, Liams comedy is so underatted😂😭
He never turned his back and took every hit like a true tank. When you hear of One Piece, you hear of Whitebeard
Had Whitebeard been in better health, it is most likely the outcome of MarineFord would've played out differently.
Love the vids man
Beautiful Touch Up!!!
Cheers!
You need to make a version 3.0 of this video in light of Chapters 963 -966! Changes a bit of the law of this LEGEND!
Old Whitebeard video: The real Dad
New Whitebeard video: The Step-Dad asking, "WHY AM I NOT IN NEWWORLDREVIEW?!? I AM THE NEW VERSION OF THE OLD GUY!!"
So it’s true both notable characters nanowire to have beard in their names do not have traditional beards. Also another fact for whitebeard is his design can be said to be like that of former WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan
Nice vid dude always down when its about the !Beast WhiteBeard!
I didn't know why they called shirohigue "whitebeard" until I watched this video, thanks a lot!
Without a doubt one of my favourite characters in one piece a true beast of a man with a golden heart
After flashback it now makes sense why Rogers met and wanted to give location of one piece to Whitebeard
Because it was a member of Whitebeard pirates who Rogers loaned for a year to be pirateking
Whitebeard... So strong they called his mustache a beard..
happy birthday whitebeard!!! :3(i smile at usj making a burial to him & ace.)
no. 1 favorite yonko and love his motive for being a pirate just wanting a family(reminding me of luffy's goal basically giving him and his friends freedom.) not caring for the one piece and a great example of a well written "strongest in the world" character for shonen jump that i love every scene he appears in especially in wano with his relationship towards oden & roger.
Pops will forever be the mightiest Yonko and the fiercest pirate at sea
This gave me alot of goosebumps damn..
Ace and Pops dying was a big reason I left One Piece behind for a while. It hit me really hard.
He had a mustache and called it beard he named his ship mobyDICK and no one questioned it that is how much of a badass he was
The anime did mess up the stabbing scene of WB by squardo. You can clearly see there that the blade is going right through WBs torso so he should have a wound on the back. But then later it was shown that he didn't.
10:35
That last part, though.
Ah yes, the character with the best nickname white -moustache- beard
I’ve always found Whitebeard’s ability to channel shockwaves through his weapon odd
Well Fujitora also does the same with his katana so
Awakened df
Another fact about Whitebeard...
Only Yonko to be seen fighting and not using named attacks
I think you forgot to mention that Whitebeard was in fact sailing on the same ship with Mrs. Bakkin sometimes in the past
Whitebeard was so awesome he called a mustache a beard and nobody argued about it.
7:25 That’s the most gangsta shit EVER!
“can we gut much higher~ so high~”
Can't wait until we get more info on the Rox Crew
Powerful quote at the start 👌
I forget whitebeard had gear 2
