Age affects us all differently. You can't just say it's this or that, he's just been blessed with genetics but part of it is his own lifestyle, living clean, eating right, etc. He could have died young as do many in the rock 'n roll business, why he did not is shocking in and of itself.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Aldridge backstage on the 1988 Motley Crue / Whitesnake tour in Hampton, Virginia. He was a complete gentleman and singed my drum sticks and Whitesnake CD. He took about ten minutes to talk to me and answer my questions, as he was genuinely interested in my opinion about the show. He's such a class act! He hasn't changed a bit in over 30 years as he hits his kit like they owe him money.
    Legend.

Agreed! Super impressive especially when taken in the context of when those albums were recorded/released. That band was a tour de force indeed. And (I believe) is unfairly viewed due to the gigantic shadow cast by Randy Rhodes. Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake were monster players, and had incredible creativity to invent these (now iconic) songs. Cheers All!

Tommy Aldridge makes it look effortless, but I’m sure he worked hard to became such an amazing drummer. Also, Tommy has no reason to apologize, but I love how he tips his hat to prior drummers and the musicians he worked with. Every musician can and should do their own interpretation while still respecting an iconic song and the musicians who came before. Tommy is a class act, which makes him a total pro. I hate when musicians are disrespectful to others and act big-headed - no matter how talented, you won’t win over the masses by being a jerk. Tommy is just one musician who is living proof that playing nice and working hard at his craft is a much better option.
