What an amazing layout, it really looks like a little country railway station. The back scene really fits in well and gives that feeling of depth. Well done.
Like this layout, run round loop, outside station platform makes for an interesting track plan..well done, going to do this in N, in a couple of box-files..
Imaginative cameo scene. I think I would dispense with the fiddle yard and model it as the countryside. You can still use it as a fiddle yard. Thanks for uploading.
This is uncannily similar in places to my n gauge layout (although its nowhere near finished)! Same back scenes, metcalfe platforms, southern region although the track plans slightly different! It Looks great!
@@MessingaboutwithModels I know a lot of people still like to think you need tons of stuff to get started but so many layouts prove them wrong. You can really get to grips with details on a smaller layout.
Nice compact model, it is reminiscent of Culmstock in its design with the run round loop beyond the platform, and an engine shed. At Culmstock there was a creamery which would have been "across the road" (the line literally crossed a road) from the end of your coal siding to the rear of the station. I think the shed went a long time before the line was closed.
Yes, I was trying to capture that look of the Culm Valley. I did toy with putting in a dairy - Bachmann do a low relief one, but decided to stick with a small coal yard.
@@MessingaboutwithModels well it worked, that's the first thing I thought! Best to build something and learn, then build another, rather than trying to come up with the perfect model.
Hi, the box which comprises the scenic section is just over 46 inches long, with the lid that comprises the fiddle yard adds an extra 16 inches. they are both 14 inches wide.
Sorry for that, I didnt think about that as it was such a small layout. However, here is a thread on rmweb showing the track plan and elements of the build. www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/116666-upottery/

Thanks! Just shows you can do something in such a small space.

Nice layout. I like how youve used a cardboard box to get going. Shows you dont need to spend lots of money to get started.
Thanks so much!

Thats an interesting idea, I never thought of that. I'm looking at building something bigger to replace this, and I'll consider that.
Great little layout
Thanks!

Thanks, I can't claim any originality here - it was designed to get some practice modelling!
@@MessingaboutwithModels thats exactly why I've been working on mine! Mess around with scenery and everything 😊
Nice 👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice small layout cheers from Bruce blenheim south island new Zealand
Glad you like it! Check out my latest Micro Layout, Loch Doune.
Will do mate no problem
Very nice
Thanks, I'm afraid my camera work doesn't do it justice!
Bro this is amazing
Great, thanks!
I think this is what I’ll do! I’m gonna use several boxes so I can pack them away and set them up when I want
That's my idea - not sure how much time they'll spend in the box though!
What is it about the British and modelling?
Even a layout in a box tends to look great.
Thanks! Hope it shows you don't need anything fancy to start modelling.

What size is the model enjoyed

What do you use to keep the tracks and Scenics down?
I used PVA glue, because it was what I had to hand. Seems to work fairly well.
@@MessingaboutwithModels cool thanks!
@@MessingaboutwithModels I guess that means you can remove track if you need to
Why do these videos never show you a track plan?
