I have enjoyed your video and it really helps me with my recovery from my brain tumour and stroke as I try to get back to my modelling I mention my illness so you know who is watching and why thank 😂
What an amazing micro layout. I just love everything about it. You have done a fantastic job, the attention to detail is perfect. Well done, you deserve all the praise you can get.
That's a lovely little layout! I love the Scalescene kits, they give so much flexibility to scratch build stuff. Just finished of the engine shed kit and added workshops etc which is soooooo easy to do!
Great video, Callum! Mum and I are very intrigued with this. We think it would be a great introduction into exhibition layout building before we undertake bigger projects we want to do. Will keep you posted old mate! Cheers Caleb and Sue
Very nice little layout I like watching all about your little layouts that why I had a go at making one myself in lockdown and i had so much fun making it
Great video Callum! Funny that you’re using the Peco Loco Lift in the fiddle yard, I’ve literally just posted my own video on doing that for micro layouts 😂 Looking forward to reading the article in RM!
SDJR7F88 Definitely, perhaps it’s a good project for my next holiday, whenever that may be! 🤔 Thanks Callum, have enjoyed your recent articles on Fry’s Somerdale as well!
Try including a shuffle track inside the warehouse ..... smaller two wagon slide should give you scope for a four wagon out train if you have room the other side.
For a moment, when you mentioned the a4 box file, I'm like, there a layout.....in there? It looked a lit bigger in the thumbnail! Then when you assembled it, I was like, oh, that's how it goes😂
Superb micro layout mate this has inspired me to have a go now especially that I currently have limited space. Just subscribed. P.s did I see you on Sam's Trains a while back. All the best Dave
Excellent job! I like the boxfile concept but unfortunately they're hard to find here in the States and the shipping from the UK is 3 times the cost of the boxfile.
Hi Callum. Looking forward to your article in the November RM. Just finished mine. Added rod in tube for the points. Works really well. Also added lighting which really adds to it. Really long build but as you say well worth it. I really like the shuttle idea. Will be investing in one of those.
Hi Callum You mentioned pre you moving to Devon of the possibility of using in the future a Scale Model Scenery baseboard, just wondering how far you got with the idea and Scale Model Scenery baseboard you used. As like you I would like to build a more permanent layout than in a box file Terry
That was awesome thanks Callum! I've been interested in one of these for a while. I'd need to find a place that offers printing though, as like many folk these days I have a paperless office. That Rushton does amazingly over the points - am I correct in thinking they are setrack insulfrog Y points? Anyway, thanks again for another inspiring video. Cheers!
Hi Andrew, yes of course it is a great demonstration of a small / micro layout. Really amazing and perfect !! But what about how did you move all the locos at the same time on the layout? Regards from Bavaria / Germany Helge Joachim
Nice one Callum. I've skimmed your article in RM and am now looking forward to reading it thoroughly. Any thoughts about scaling it to N and adding more buildings etc. Cheers Jeff
Great stuff Jeff! Glad to hear the subs copies are out there (yet to get mine). I've seen someone scale one down to N on Facebook, must be quite the challenge!
Hi Matthew, I swear I featured the thicknesses for the first step? As for how many sheets, it depends on how well you use the card (fitting the printed sheets on them). I think I managed to get away with around 8 thick and medium sheets in the end, though I bought the car in packs of 12. Hope it's of help
SDJR7F88 what I mean is I see the thickness in artical but it don’t say how many sheets and of what as you and scale put all 3 up. That’s ok but I don’t know how many of what I need as nether you or scale don’t say. But thanks to you I have now downloaded the kit got a box file and just needed amount of card sheets I need them I will make it. If it was not for you I would not have given it a look in :) only down side and small One is the back board is modern image. You can’t see modern hourse and windows. I guess when in place you won’t ether see or tell. Can’t wait to complete it Thanks big thanks
Thanks for showcasing your build Callum. I'm working on this layout right now. How do you control the points on your layout? I'm thinking of putting in a motorized unit to control mine.
It’s also a good layout to practice things like weathering as if you go wrong just re reprint and retry. Cold I ass a boat to the layout ? Also I know it’s not done but Im my eyes could you not run a longer train that is longer than t layout. Give effect what your seeing is a snippet of an industrial scene. The fiddle yard end could be road bridge and other end could be entering a building to drop off the products. if you remove the doors it could be a building built above the railway and that building is not its intended destination. This means could have diff types a wagons and tankers passing with diff companies locos or liveried stock. Maybe even have a passenger coach like the rowntrees confectioners had with there workers hault. Would the points be box controlled or be controlled as the point it’s self? I don’t buy magazines any more (trying to save money) Dose the magazine artical discuss locos and stock that’s available and other add ons as if so will buy. If not could you discuss what locos stock to use?
Matthew Stamp, the LY02 Canal Wharf Kit comes with the template for a really nice open barge that you could build up and have your scene showing it being loaded/unloaded etc. You can also buy the matching T018 Narrowboat and Lock kit to make a real canal-side scene. The link to the Scalescenes site is in the author's comment at the bottom of the video or you can go to see the Narrowboat & Lock kit at Scalescenes in the Town section. Good luck with your building. PS: I am now building this Canal Wharf in N Scale (1:148) to fit across a T-TRAK Double module (620mm x 400mm). I will be adding other buildings to 'stretch' the scene to fit the extended width. My other modules will continue the Canal theme running across the front of them so that it suggests a part of the UK Canal Network.
it's more than a box file railway cos of the extnded track and power connection! Also moving it and folding it away will damage the model! I certainly wouldn't call this a layout!!
Many thanks Martin. Glad you like it. Certainly was a fun little project. Got some future plans for this one to make it a bit more user friendly :)

Great little layout and loads of potential. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and maybe got a few bits of inspiration.
Thanks Les! Glad it was of interest!
Nice work Callum looks great has a lot of opperating potentional for such a small layout.
Many thanks mate! Certainly is. Ideal for testing my little industrial collection
That's a lovely little layout! I love the Scalescene kits, they give so much flexibility to scratch build stuff. Just finished of the engine shed kit and added workshops etc which is soooooo easy to do!
They really are superb kits! Plenty of modelling potential! Will have to try a few more of there products :)
Wonderful modelling supported by an excellent video...Congrats Cheers Greg
Thanks Greg!!!

Very nice little layout I like watching all about your little layouts that why I had a go at making one myself in lockdown and i had so much fun making it
Many thanks indeed Tom! Glad they have been of insperation! Just got to love micros :)
Awesome video Callum. I'd never heard about putting a layout in the A4 box file but it's a fantastic idea and I've got to do myself. Cheers mate 👍😀
Glad you like it Thomas! Really is a superb kit indeed! Hopefully the full article in RM will be of great help with the build too :)
@@SDJR7F88 to be honest I don't normally buy RM, I usually buy HM. But I'm definitely buy RM this month 😀👍
All are great mags! Been working on a few more articles of interest now that I've got into the swing of these down there, so stay tuned :)

Thanks Callum, have enjoyed your recent articles on Fry’s Somerdale as well!
A pretty cool idea. Your slowly becoming the master of the micro layout.
Many thanks mate! Forgot how many I have now! Just got to love them :)
Always wanted to do a box file layout, so this may give me the final push to have a go. Definitely going to get the November copy.
Many thanks indeed Matt! Highly recommended the kit! Certainly a fun build. Glad to hear it! Let us know what you think :)
Very good really like that water effect must try it on my layout cheers pete
Many thanks Peter! Glad you like it! Very pleased with how it all turned out
great layout. ive just downloade/printed all 34 pages from scalescenes to start building
Hope the build goes well Andy! Is a great kit!
Try including a shuffle track inside the warehouse ..... smaller two wagon slide should give you scope for a four wagon out train if you have room the other side.
That's the end of the box file through there. So would need to purchase another to extend it through, but all possible future plans :)
That is very quaint.
Really is indeed :)
Very nice, I have both boxfile kits but have yet to make them! I will look forward to reading the article in RM.
Many thanks Scott! They really are excellent kits. Takes a bit of work but worth it :) Hope it's of help!
Great modeling, well done
Thank you! Cheers!
This is fantastic, thanks for posting!
For a moment, when you mentioned the a4 box file, I'm like, there a layout.....in there? It looked a lit bigger in the thumbnail! Then when you assembled it, I was like, oh, that's how it goes😂
Many thanks indeed! Yep, all in the box file. Just shows how good the kit is :)
Enjoy the video thanks very much.
Wow! 3 comments on 3 videos in the space of five minutes! Must be a fast view... ;)
Wow, that's so cool.
Many thanks!
Outstanding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this idea! i may have to try it especially since each file could be a differemt scene or different but of the layout
Many thanks Josh! They certainly are ideal for that! Let us know how you get on :)

Many thanks indeed Dave. Really is a great little kit. Takes some time to build, but will worth it. Yes, I've featured in one or two of his video :)
That layout looks amazing! Cant wait to see the full thing!
Many thanks!
Excellent job! I like the boxfile concept but unfortunately they're hard to find here in the States and the shipping from the UK is 3 times the cost of the boxfile.
Many thanks indeed! Ah that's a shame, never know might come across one at some point.
Nice! I used to live in Radstock btw!
Thanks Phil! Glad you enjoyed! Oh yes, got to have a bit of local history on there ;)
Good stuff Callum

Hi Callum. Could I just ask what printer you used on your scales SNES build. The quality looks exceptional. Thanks Alan
@@alanmaynard7842 Honestly don't know, it was printed off in the office. I know we used thicker sheets of paper, which certainly helped
@@SDJR7F88 I think the quality of the paper does matter. I have used Matt photo paper.
very impressed and truly inspired
Many thanks indeed! Glad you like it!
Looks lovely Callum! :D
Many thanks Kameron!
Nice layout looking good keep up the good work
Many thanks indeed!
That looks awesome I was looking at the factory one I decided against it I wish I had bought it now
Still time, really are excellent little kits! Needs a bit of work, but worth it :)

Hi Terry.
Still not got around to setting it up yet, as I've been focusing on my new layout Lyncombe Vale, however I'll do hope to give it a go soon

Many thanks Andrew! Highly recommended! The Ruston's are just superb, no issue with the points. Yes, standard set track. Glad you enjoyed!
Just wanted to say this is a fantastic build. Great inspiration.
Can you tell me as a newbie, what the green loco is??
Many thanks indeed David. Glad you like it. The little green diesel shunter is a Tustin 48DS made by Hornby.

its almost finnished. ive made the bridge double sided, so it just lifts off, and fixs the weak right hand side of the file

I’m ordering this kit today! How did you get the adhesive paper to print out everything properly?
From what I remember it was just printed on normal paper and glued to the appropriate thickness of card
where did you get the trains
Can i ask what you used for uncoupling? Magnets? Hand of god off camera?
Hand of God off camera sadly. Though I might try and figure out some sort of system for it at some point
@@SDJR7F88 that’s fine. I thought there was some magic I didn’t know about

Found it on sheets so counted it up, 17 heavy 5 medium 1 light
Where would I find the card

Do all of the buildings come with the kit, or do they need to be bought/downloaded separately?
Yep, all with the kit, with the exception of the dock crane
