I did not know Budapest was so famous for hot baths or for how many centuries! Impressive. Another good reason to add this awesome city to my travel plans. Thanks...always appreciate your useful travel tips.
Congratulations on this video. It is one of the best we have seen on the topic. Very informative. We have been to all three of them; however, the several times we have gone to Rudas, we have never been to the rooftop. We normally relax in the Turkish part. Looking forward to going back for more relaxation.
Again, after watching your uploads I knew where to go.. Thanks guys Really helpful. .Gellert is where I went on the 01/12/19. It was your upload that inspired me to see/ feel and again you were right lol 3hrs soak/steam 45 min amazing full hard massage. WoW. After returning to this amazingly beautiful city for the 3rd time this year, you have helped me see things that have literally taken my breath away- EVERY-TIME whether it be street talent, the friendly (very helpful) locals or the jaw dropping sights inc the Hungarian change of the guards (see my other uploads) not forgetting the beautiful architecture, wonderful public transport system, a HUGE amount of history, and some of the nicest foods I have ever tasted it is no surprise that Budapest, Hungary is my favorite place to be!! Massive shouts out to EVERYONE I met whilst there, It was a pleasure to meet you guys and I hope to again...PeAcE x Magik-Fingerz-uk Thank you for your helpful/fun uploads and keep up the great work guys. PeAcE. Magik Fingerz uk (Superb backing music btw)
I'm sure it'll be even more special when you visit then :) We made a whole Budapest series, if you're interested! The playlist is here: ruclips.net/video/IKwDpit0968/видео.html
I just love bathing and the Szecenyi baths are the best!!! Come early in the morning and enjoy that beautiful place before it gets overcrowded. Highly recommended!
It is my huge favourite and I have been there four or five times now amongst 9 times to the city. Too many people are starting to find it now and it does get crowded but maybe Cv-19 will slow down recovery of numbers.
Budapest's hot springs are so cool...Hungary always blows me away with its hot springs....I live 5 miles from one of the best hot springs in Montana and go at least a couple times a week (bozeman hot springs the water is 54C from source and diluted into about 10 pools no chlorine its a flow thru and drained every night ), Montana has a bunch of hot springs developed( Jackson and Chico) and undeveloped...i have been to hot springs all over and seek them out Italy particularly Tuscany has amazing hot springs, and Switzerland too. And the Istarske toplice in Istria croatia is a fabulous one(i lived and worked in Croatia) and lake heviz in Hungary .... the largest thermal lake in the world is near lake Balaton... totally worth a side trip...ok i think you guys get the idea l love hot springs....and obviously Iceland too
Gellert, for a nice medieval indoor pool experience, love the royal-looking pillars! Rudas, for the outdoor views of the city at night, and Szechenyi for traditional, communal outdoor fun! =)
Helloooo Eileen🤗once again you have done such an amazingly thorough Vlog I've never seen any other travel vloggers or show do!!! Well done my friend 👍🏽❤️ keep up the fantastic work !!
Next time you guys should try Palatinus Baths on Margaret Island. It has various bath units and saunas, but its more preferable to go there because the outdoor pools. The water is coming from nice fountains, also it has a wave pool, slide pool etc. Besides the entrance fee is way much cheaper from the other baths you've mentioned in your video ;)
Hi ! We spent a day at Szechenyi Thermal Baths also Lukacs Baths in January as we both have health problems . My husband uses the steam + saunas as well. The jets help my knees. We were due to go back in March & check out the roof top pool but it got cancelled due to Coronavirus. Our favourite thermal spa is in Baden Baden but I loved the swim up bar in the Titisee thermal spa!
I'm thrilled to hear this was helpful to narrow down your focus so you make the most of your time! We made a whole series in Budapest in case that's useful too (it's here: bit.ly/BudapestPlaylist). Have a great trip! :)
Loved this video...thank you and hands down I think Zechenyi Baths is the place to visit...loved this segment...please keep going ;-) because you're great at this!
Im going to Budapest in 10 days i am so excited!! i love your videos they are super informative and down to earth. You are really helping me plan ahead!! thanks
I went to the Szecheni baths recently, I got there early to avoid the crowds, I loved it, but going there in the evening looks even better, I only had the weekend, so time-limited visit
We went to the Czechenyi baths when we visited years ago. There was ice skating in the park outside, and sat in the pool after as snow settled on our heads forming snow hats! Some of the ice sluice rooms there would almost stop your heart, with the shock of the temp. change 😁
Wow, that sounds idyllic, Nigel! Hot tubs in the snow sounds familiar for Canadians too :) I wonder if you'd find the baths have changed much or not since you were there.
Although I avoid public pools, tubs, and baths (like the plague I envision they carry LOL), I still found this interesting! Awesome video footage as usual, you kids! Continued safe travels, till next time :)
I see where you're coming from: i've seen mold ridden hot tubs and sauna walls with peeling wood in gyms here in England. But in Hungary standards of the managements and the guests of the baths are quite high, especially bc bath therapies are part of our health system (like if you have rheuma your doc may give you a note that allows you say 10 entry in the hot/medical bath, and it is covered by the national health insurance) so they have to be up to medical standards. On the other hand in the blistering summer when the open air pools are in season, it is inevitable to meet a few of the fellow guests who are "differently abled in the cultural aspect"(uncultured swines) and may or may not piss in the pool. Glad you enjoyed it! Have you been to Budapest? We made other videos about the city if you'd like to see more - they're here: bit.ly/BudapestPlaylist :)
Been in Budapest few weeks ago. Visited 4 baths: Széchenyi = tourists, Gellert = tourists, *** = absolutely great, *** absolutely great. Hopefully tourists will still go to those popular ones so the smaller, great ones, keep their atmosphere and greatness :- )
So I visited the Gellert spa and it's a runny travel story I tell a lot because I got a massage and it was far from relaxing. I was rubbed very rougly, fully naked and instructed to spread like a star. It wasn't oil but a cream that smelled like Vicks vaporub. I felt so violated. That was before I spent an hour in the baths (tiled ones you preferred) that was only for women with optional swimwear. And it's never the ones who "should" that do take that option. I still have an embroidered towel from the spa that makes me smile every time I use it and reminds me of that experience.
Thanks for the informative vids! I am planning to visit Budapest next Christmas and would love to get some drone shots. Did you have any problems flying there? Was it easy to get a permit & insurance?
Hello, I'm very interested in Budapest en want to read everything about it. However, it is for me not possible te see your impression. How is thad possible?
Thank you, Mark! We went in the winter as well and the pools were open except one (the big outdoor one) at Gellert, but the rest were available to use. I also think the rooftop bath at Rudas seems better in winter because it's so cold and frosty looking out over the city view ❤️ xx
Your video is amazing :) i would like to ask you if you know what days we can visit the rhudas bath and swimming woman & man together in the pool you said on the video :) thank you !
Thanks, Anna! I'm not sure what the updated info is on that front - best to check their website (www.rudasbaths.com/) to make sure it's correct when you go :)
It's great to know there's a women only day at Rudas. I have heard of couples getting very close indeed in the baths. Not considerate and more to the point not hygienic.
Awesome! That's the same month we were there last year. We made other videos there if you want to check them out: bit.ly/BudapestPlaylist. Have a fun trip!
Hey Chris! That's a tough question as it depends what you want to do and how much time you can spare. I'd say you'll definitely fill whatever time you take there as there are plenty of places to visit. 5 or 7 days would be great itineraries and my guess is there would still be places you'd like to go or return to after that time. If you haven't seen, we've made a bunch of videos about where to visit in Budapest and Hungarian food. They're here if you'd like to see as you're planning: ruclips.net/video/IKwDpit0968/видео.html
Thanks, Aaron! We visited in December, too, and it was amazing. You'll be there for the Christmas markets!! You may have seen already but we made a whole series in Budapest (and about other European Christmas markets) I hope will be helpful for trip planning: bit.ly/BudapestPlaylist. We stayed quite close to the House of Terror museum which we loved because it was sort of between the downtown area and the Szechenyi Baths/Hero Square/Vajdahunyad Castle. We walked everywhere. That's also where the huge skating rink is that will be open in December! I'd look for somewhere on the Pest side (for sure) within walking distance of the places you'd like to visit. It'll be cold but not insanely so (I'm from Canada haha). Definitely dress for winter though. Have an amazing time!
Your video has really given me some great ideas and expectations for our visit at the end of November 2018. One thing on my list is to visit Memonto Park.
Hey Lucy! I'm so glad to hear that. We didn't get to Memento Park this time but it looks really interesting. Let me know how you enjoy it. We made a whole series in Budapest if you're like to see more videos: bit.ly/BudapestPlaylist. Hope they're helpful as you plan :) Have a great time!
Hello! This was in December. If you haven't seen our other videos, we made a lot with tons of other information about visiting and where to go/what to see/what to eat. Those videos are here - hope they're helpful: bit.ly/BudapestPlaylist :)
I m planning to go in Budapest in December.Could anyone give me advice about what should i do about the currency? Should i convert my euros in forints?Where should i do that so that i won't be ripped off? Or could i pay with euros?
in most places, you cant pay with euro! maybe the grocery store Spar accepts them but im not even sure about them. exchange places should be okay, banks usually change at worse rates! in banks it is usually 10-20 hungarian forints more/euro. there are designated money exchange places that are okay!
Because of sheddig of hair. Many people go in and out these baths, and without caps the filtering is gets worse, and water quality couldn't stay on the same level. So cleaning the filters, the bath, the water - is not really cheap, when if no one cares about.... that would be bad. So, people - please wear caps.
This is the rule in most of the pools that are for swimming in Hungary. As far as I know to prevent visitors hair from falling into the water. It's not a very consistent rule, because it only concerns bigger pools.

you should have gone into the Turkish Baths at Rudas as they are amazing and you missed the best part of the baths completely, the rooftop is nice but nothing on the ambience of the 14th Century baths.
Does visiting thermal baths appeal to you? Which one of these strikes your fancy the most? 🏊🏊♀️💦
Rudacs, last May.
On my bucket list!! The rooftop looks AMAZING!!♡♡♡
Without C, please.
Did the Gellért and Széchenyi baths the past week. Really liked both :)
Definitely Rudacs. There are fewer people who go there.
I did not know Budapest was so famous for hot baths or for how many centuries! Impressive. Another good reason to
add this awesome city to my travel plans. Thanks...always appreciate your useful travel tips.
Thanks! ;) We were more than happy to get into the hot pools when our feet were tired. As you can see, it was a lot of fun 💧
It's a really popular choice for a weekend visit from Ireland and the UK. Flights aren't too expensive if you book early.
Congratulations on this video. It is one of the best we have seen on the topic. Very informative. Thanks you are the only who gave the info regarding price, bringing your own towels and swim cap!
I'm glad to hear you found the video helpful!
I miss Budapest. I lost my glasses at the Gellért Baths but it was ok because I needed new ones. Did you go to the library?
I liked Lucac! Outdoor pool is great and cosy
Great job Eileen ! Was it difficult to film inside?
I actually went there, based on your video. We planned 3 hours there and ended up staying there near 6. Thanks Eileen!
I also recommend to visit Király baths, the most genuine, cheapest and locals-visited spa in Budapest ;)
Thanks for the suggestion, Anna! That was on my wish list but didn't get there...next time! :)
I wouldn’t have thought about flip flops! Thanks for that tip!
Hey Meghan! Glad to hear that’s helpful! Have a wonderful time :)
I really liked the smile on your face guys. :)
Thanks, Gabriel! We were having a great time :)
You have missed out on the Király Bath in the middle of Budapest.
It is the oldest one...500 years old and is the antique style turkish bath...
Cant wait to try them ALL!
Amazing! Enjoy!
Eileen Aldis Hope to go back soon. I should have mentioned that it was January when we visited and minus 10 C.
Was there in November was amazing 🇨🇮
I learned a lot from this video!!! Great presentation. Where did you get the aerial footage? Fantastic!
That's awesome, Betsy! We shot the aerial footage on our drone :)
Butifull cuntry i am visiting hungry budapast april 2020 i am very empress
I like it how informative you are.
Glad to hear that :)
Amazing video! Well done. Thanks :):)
Although I avoid public pools, tubs, and baths (like the plague I envision they carry LOL), I still found this interesting! Awesome video footage as usual, you kids! Continued safe travels, till next time :)
haha thanks, Trish! My sister feels similarly about hot tubs ;) I'm glad you still enjoyed it though!
So i tend to choose places that are less accessible for the plebs (water parks, spa complexes under some 4-5* hotel management, etc).
Very informative, and well done

Been on a roof top hot spring bath tub. It was in Pagosa springs Colorado tho. Hope to go to Budapest to tho. Nice video
Thanks, Antonio! Glad you enjoyed the video. Nothing like a hot tub with a view ;)
About Rudas bath. There are days when both wimin and man can go together in the old turkish bath.
It's great to know there's a women only day at Rudas. I have heard of couples getting very close indeed in the baths. Not considerate and more to the point not hygienic.

Great !
Thank you!
I think the most i liked it GELLÉRT BATHS 😘😘😘

Hey Chris! That's a tough question as it depends what you want to do and how much time you can spare. We'll be traveling with little children with youngest being 10 years old. Which spa is more family friendly?
I'd personally say Széchenyi as I think kids would enjoy the outdoor pool a lot and there are also indoor options.

what are the prices for the bathes?
is bathing cap mandatory for bald people also ? :)
good question! ;)
Usually not.
Drones are allowed there?
Hi, which month did you visit Budapest? I'm planning end march trip.....
Hello! This was in December. If you haven't seen our other videos, we made a lot with tons of other information about visiting and where to go/what to see/what to eat. Those videos are here - hope they're helpful: bit.ly/BudapestPlaylist :)
i didnt know that much about Budapest!
hey, what's the song playing in the intro of the video ?
Btw your video's are awesome !
Thank you! The music is from Audio Network.
Hey, is it possible to book Szechenyi on advance?
Hi! Covid has likely affected their rules so I’d double check their website to get up to date info.

Hey! All the music in this video is from Audio Network.
Here is also the Lukács bath and it have a beautiful historical Turkish pool too. It's smaller than the others but well worth a look.
The baths in Budapest are so wonderful.
Could have added costs of pools but still nice information
Brilliant video 🌈🤗😘
Thanks so much! :)
Eileen Aldis 🌹🌹💙
You need a swim cap to swim? Why?

@@EileenAldis Thank you! We loved this video so we'll make sure to watch all of them. We'll be visiting Budapest next January
@@99trips That's wonderful! Hope you have an amazing time :)
That's look very good
you should have gone into the Turkish Baths at Rudas as they are amazing and you missed the best part of the baths completely, the rooftop is nice but nothing on the ambience of the 14th Century baths.
I'm sure it's incredible! Next time :)
