  • In this video I will review Yellowstone LE 2022 and let you know if I will sip on it until the bottle is gone and buy it again or if I will skip buying it once the bottle is gone and replace it with something else.

"If the second sip is good, the third sip should be more gooder". I'll be using that line!
Too expensive for me too! Lots of good whisky out there for less money. Thanks for the review.

I went to Limestone Branch Distillery last year and was able to pick this up there. I really enjoy it! Every year's Limited Edition uses a different finish. Last year was Armarone finished and the year before that Armagnac. When I talked to the distiller there they said they were considering a cigar blend style mix of finishing casks, but we'll see what they ultimately choose. For sure they said this year will not be Marsala superior as they don't want to do the same thing 2 years in a row.

The cigar blend sounds good. I will keep an eye out for what they eventually do AND I'll talk my brother in law into buying it.

Love your channel Peter. Not sure how I missed this episode as I disliked the 2021 Yellowstone Special Edition as it was young and not a great taste for me as well as the cost. This 2022 Special Edition is , imo, absolutely fantastic.
Love the Marsala finish in it and it has 15 yr and 16 yr bourbon as well as mostly 7 yr in the bottle.
Great price for what you get. I bought a bottle and after trying it went out the next day and bought two more. I then 2 weeks later bought another 2 to bunker. This is such a wonderful tasting bourbon with a fantastic mouthfeel and finish. The finish is medium and stays with you.
I paid $107 for mine and since then have bought a few more to bring to a couple bottle shares and as a housewarming gift.
I found 3 more last month sitting on a shelf but was in hurry and did not get them. Kicking myself as the next day they were all gone.
I see any again and I will buy them easily worth $140 a botttle

So what you're trying to tell me is that you like this bottle? Is that right? 🤪 Thanks for supporting the channel. I appreciate the feedback. Cheers!

Great review, Peter! Thanks for sharing. I’ve never tried any of the Yellowstone offerings, but I’ve been curious. I regularly see the standard Yellowstone and some store picks (I believe around $60) in my area. I did come across this same LE a couple of months ago for $120ish I believe. Glad I passed as it sounds like maybe not quite worth that price to me. Thanks again!

The standard Yellowstone is good. Solid bourbon if you were wondering.

@@whiskeyisajourney thanks, Peter! I appreciate that. The standard Yellowstone doesn’t get much coverage in reviews, so I’ve been curious. From the little I have researched, sounds like standard bourbon flavors with a lean towards the nutty side (maybe Beam like characteristics).

Love the channel. Picked up one of these a few months back. Looking forward to trying it, but haven't yet. I love their black label, which seems to come in 102, 109 and 115 proof.

Thanks. I appreciate the support. I have 1 black label bottle and like it very much. Mine is a Total Wine store pick coming in at 115 proof.

Peter, why do you tip the bottle before every pour? Is this doing something special for you?

    • @whiskeyisajourney
      @whiskeyisajourney  Год назад +1

It wets the cork so when I open the bottle it comes out easier and it doesn't feel like it's going to break.
