When you take all these steps to create a plot that is ideal for turkeys, what size is the minimum area that a plot would have to be in order to appeal to turkeys? I assume that turkeys don't travel as far from plot to plot like deer do, so they would need a single plot of sufficient size to meet their needs.

It could be as small as 1/4 of an acre. Plant some clover, and you’ll have food and a nice strut zone. Most of their food comes from native browse so you’re only supplementing their food with something attractive.

A lot of times what you’ll notice is in the timber there will be areas where turkeys are scratching up the leaves looking for bugs and acorns. You can also look to see if they’re roosting on your property, and if it’s time for them to gobble that’s probably the easiest. Keep in mind too that it could be dependent on the time of year. Where they spend their time in the fall may not be where they like to be in the spring. Study what the sign looks like.
