There used to be a large Cryolophosaur-esque skull on display at a Museum I visited in my home of Ontario, Canada. It was labelled 'Albertosaurus', but even 6 year old me knew that the skull didn't match up, as I had read books about all different kinds of Dinosaurs, reading Dinosaur encyclopedias. I ended up telling the curator of the exhibit about the skull, which he told me that I probably wasn't wrong, it was just what it was shipped to the museum as. Still haven't been back, but I'm very curious to see if they've reclassified the skull. Was Albertosaur SIZE, but with that wicked crest, NO WAY that was an Albertosaurus.
So here's a fun fact. A woman by the name of Tess Gallagher, has stated that Acrocanthosaurus may have used a sort of Push and pull method when hunting. They'd sink their teeth in, and when they pulled, due to the way the neck vertebra were shaped, could've helped aid in ripping out chunks off Sauropods during a hunt. With 60 serrated teeth, that's one hell of a bite to cause some damage. While Tyrannosaurus may have that Crushing bite, i still think that Acrocanthosaurus is among my favorite predators of the Certaceous period.
Congrats on seeing one of my bucket list mounts. Fran has been high on my list. So happy dueling dinosaurs ended up in a museum. Know the whole paleo world held their breath when it went up for auction. Now get your spino butt to the Peabody!!!
Bro, I’m so sad 😭! I went on a vacation to North Carolina last week. And in my family’s plans was to go to that museum, but VERY last minute something unfortunately came up and we couldn’t go. I was SO excited to see the Dueling Dinosaurs! Well…hopefully me and my family can go next year on our vacation 😅. Cool video by the way!
YAYYYY! They won the legal battle!! Now people can finally do research on the dueling dinosaurs!! For you who do not know, there was kind of a legal battle between the owner of the property where the dueling dinos where found and the paleontologists who wanted to research it.
MANS IN MY HOMETOWN LETS GOOOOOO! I wish I could’ve gone to see dueling Dino’s but I was booked last weekend so I couldn’t. Gonna see it this summer tho so that’s gonna be fun
Idk if you’ll see this one spino dude, but I hadn’t heard of the mummy foot of thescelosaurus Thank you. From my observation that all but confirms tarsal scutes in all dinosaurs. We’d only had birds to look at before. And with crocodiles not having true tarsal scutes we couldn’t say for certain. But this proves that A theropods and Ornithopods are the two most closely related or… that all dinosaurs had tarsal scutes. As I understand it, despite all the parallels ornithopods are always on the opposite end of the room at the dinosaur family reunion. Them and Marginocephalians.
Man I wanna see the NC museum so bad. The acro was Fran right? I think there was some debate as to whether Paluxysaurus was valid or if it was a junior synonym for Sauroposeidon but idk the details. And man the dueling dinosaurs! I'm so happy they never went to a private collection and they can be studied! Also I dunno if the taxidermied guys appreciated the mockery lmao.
This is creepy... I was just researching things about the Acro last night 😂 Love this species, it's in my top ten favorites ever since I saw it for the first time in JPOG, ever since then, the more I learn about it the more I love it
"The skull doesn't look like an Albertosaurus" that's every Albertosaurus skeletal mount for ya.'

The experts there I spoke to refer to it as "the tyrannosaur, but likely tyrannosaurus"
@@TheSpinoDude I bet 50 bucks that it will turn out to be Nanotyrannus. Not bet with you, I just bet with someone in general.
