Even if you don’t completely obliterate Sakon you still get locked out of the Anju and Kafei quest because Sakon never goes to the curiosity shop and while Kafei still ends up at the entrance to Sakons hideout, Sakon never comes back to his base on the third day. It makes doing every side mission in one cycle impossible.
@@Thedarksenshi I recall Kafei being at Ikana Valley but Sakon never arriving, perhaps I’m conflating two separate circumstances. I’ll give this a check tomorrow on both the 3DS and N64 version

Probably my favorite part of this game, really, only the curiosity shop has 3 different quests from it, stopping Sakon from stealing the bomb bag, which in the last day the owner replaces the bomb bag with the All night mask, which with this mask, comes the second quest, where we have to listen to granny's stories without falling asleep, and granny is being taken care of by Anju, Kafei's fiance, which then comes the third quest where you should not prevent Sakon from stealing the bomb bag, as Kafei would be waiting for Sakon to bring the bomb bag to the curiosity shop, but its futile as you stopped Sakon from doing so, so Kafei never goes to Sakon's hideout. Incredible, just how big this game is centered on the sidequests, if you think this game is small compared to ocarina of time, you should try getting all the masks and stray fairies, your gameplay time would be multiplied by 4.
Sakon is a cowardly thief who steals from Old Ladies and children (Kafei was trying to visit the Great Fairy after Skull Kid turned him into a kid only for Sakon to steal his Sun Mask)! Sakon also ponders about stealing from Camilla & her father home in Ikana taking the music box for himself! He's basically a villain and if it weren't for it locking Link out of specific side quest lines, Link would be doing Termina a favor by killing him! Even the Curiousity Shop Guy hates him (considering what he did to his buddy Kafei I don't blame him) to the point he short changes him for the Bomb Bag! Still I tend to save the Old Lady on the first cycle after acquiring the Deku Mask to get the Bomb Mask which allows me to purchase the Bomb Bag from the Bomb Shop, making the old lady happy in at least one timeline! The quest line with Kafei & Anju is one of those late in the game side quests as while you can start some parts of it you need the Hookshot to reach Sakon's hideout to assist Kafei! Still you can go through them to get the Priority Mail, Keaton Mask, & Postman's Hat or the bottle from Kafei's mom by having Link deliver the Priority Mail himself!
