To all the Tamilians claiming Tyagaraja was Tamilian. No he is not. A simple google search will tell you that Tyagaraja was born Karkarla Tyagabrahmam in a Telugu family. That’s why all his compositions are in Telugu.
But in those days, the Madras Presidiency consists of large parts of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Kerala , as I understood it. I may be wrong. So, nothing wrong in everybody's claim. The great composer is yours, as long as u enjoy his Kritis.
@@atharsh302 It is Sanskrit. Since Telugu borrowed from Sanskrit and not the other way around, it is logical to say that if a composition uses only Sanskrit words, then it is a Sanskrit composition. Thyagaraja composed in both Telegu and Sanskrit as did many of his peers. For example, Oothakadu venkata Subba Iyer is a Tamil composer. Yet you would not call "Swagatham Krishna", that he composed, to be a Tamil song.

Glad to see Mahesh and Akshay in an Indian Raga Collaboration after a long time. The rendering of the music really resembled an actual Carnatic concert. The Vocal singer looked a bit uncomfortable to be sitting in a chair holding a thamburu. Overall, a beautiful piece of work. Another feather in the cap for Indian Raga.

Exactly what I thought after hearing this masterpiece!
Good job
This is a classical south Indian song. North Indian music is slightly different.

The beauty of the entire song vests in this single phrase..very mesmerizing rendition

"Tyaga Raaja vandaneeya " 🔥🔥
As a kid, I was privileged to witness many classical performances of both Carnatic and Hindustani musicians and also performances of various instrumentalists such as Zakir Hussain ,Kadri Gopalnath and many many more.
As a kid I felt bored listening to them. But now I can truly understand the kind of effect it has on me. Indian classical music is a science in itself. 🙏

To all the Tamilians claiming Tyagaraja was Tamilian. No he is not. A simple google search will tell you that Tyagaraja was born Karkarla Tyagabrahmam in a Telugu family. That’s why all his compositions are in Telugu.
This is a Sanskrit composition. Thiagarajan composed in both Sanskrit and Telegu.

Telugu language. Carnatic music.

Can't express the joy of listening such fusion of Eastern and Western music. Both the classical music form (Hindustani as well as Carnatic) have the power to go straight to your heart regardless of whether you understand the underlying structure or not. #Blessed to be born in such a beautiful culture.

Tyagaraja gaaru.....The Great Blessed Telugu Poet. I listened many of his keerthanas.
I used to hum this song and was waiting for a version that would really fill my heart, my wait is over.
Now its a daily routine for me to hear at least 4times at night itself... Just addicted
Carnatic classical music is all about bhakthi. Any combination of vocals and instrument if it can generate that the purpose is served. Mahesh you are doing a great service bringing young talent and also making music to attract the youth to enter this ocean of elixir . Please make more such videos. I like Telugu songs than Telugu films. Film stories are not appealing and lot of masalas, but music is superb.
Earlier I used to listen to Tamil songs when Haris Jayaraj was ruling , now my playlist songs has 60% of Telugu songs.
Even our famous music composer for 80% hit Malayalam film songs Vidhyasagar is a Telugu guy.
I’m currently in Washington dc , working in world bank , listening to this South Indian song , a Sree Krishna devotee 🇮🇳

What so ever the modern music produce any good songs but the beauty of the traditional music is lot better and best and so pleasing.
Really nice rendering of Samaja Varagamana. Wonderful vocals by Ramakrishnan Murthy Sir. Mahesh Raghavan and Akshay Ananthapadmanabhan were also great as usual. Glad to see Mahesh and Akshay in an Indian Raga Collaboration after a long time. The rendering of the music really resembled an actual Carnatic concert. A tiny suggestion though, it would have been nice if the artists were sitting on the floor (like we usually see in Carnatic concerts.). The Vocal singer looked a bit uncomfortable to be sitting in a chair holding a thamburu. Overall, a beautiful piece of work. Another feather in the cap for Indian Raga.
True,
Yes. I feel the same. A chair creates a disconnect between the person and Bhumatha who is the source of all that we are.
Also, sitting on the floor is being more respectful to the composer Saint Thyagaraja in my opinion
Its recorded and later they shoot the video with lip sync
Scintillating and aesthetic Hindolam and the essence of Samajavaragamana ..Insanely holy heaven!!!
Every Indian should follow and preserve our culture....
