When I was a child, me along with my sister and parents used to sleep in a single bed and every night we used to listen to Endaro Mahanubhavulu by M.Balamuralikrishna just before we sleep. That is my "happy place" which I visit in my mind when faced with adversities in life. This particular rendition by the father daughter duo gave me another reason to visit my happy place in my mind with a nostalgic emotion. They have melted my heart

@@thebeast4290 ok so a bit more research and some claim Saint Tyagaraja's birthplace was Thiruvaiyaru while some others claim it to be Thiruvaru, both of which are in TN. Also he was born into a Telugu Smartha Brahmin family that had migrated & settled in TN during those ancient times, so his mother tongue must have been Telugu & largely the reason why he composed all his divine renditions in it.
No offense really. Jfy that I am Tamil but I simply adore Carnatic compositions of all saints in all Indic languages including Telugu.

Reading the lyrics of Thyagayya, Annamayya brings tears to the eyes, how could people carry & express so much humility & devotion 🙏🙏
Many South Indians do not, either. But if you listen very carefully you can pick out many Sanskrit words. For them and for others like you an English translation is provided. It is sung in the Carnatic raga Sri (Hindustani raag is Shri). Note that the bulk of the composition alternates between lyrics (Sahityam) and Solfege and the singers take turns in singing both. The Solfege is not extemporaneous but is actually part of the composition.
Your Telugu pronunciation is perfect. This whole generation can learn from you. Loved this song and listening daily.

Ever since the release of this number there hasn't been a single day when I have not felt compelled to listen to it at least a couple of times! It grows on you to the point of becoming an addiction. Since I am not a Carnatic savant, I have tried to comprehend the magic of this rendition in my own intuitive way. This is recognized and honored as one of the best five compositions of Thyāgarāja Swāmi, and Unnikrishnan senior's role in building up the etherial ambience around this exquisite composition needs no comment. In my uneducated, lay opinion, I think he would have joined the ranks of the legendaries solely on the basis of his rendition of yet another Thāyagarāja composition, the "Merusamāna", even if he had sung nothing else! The magic of that rendition is perennial. It grows and grows upon you until it permeates the deepest crevices of your soul. So what is new here? I think what is new is the timbre of Uthara's voice, which emerges for the first time like a butterfly from its cocoon, in all its resplendent beauty and glory. I find the rich, mellow timbre of her voice - especially at the low frequencies that this composition builds around - totally captivating, irresistible and beyond compare. I feel this mellowness is here to stay. This is her true voice emerging from the honey-laced tones that we have loved so dearly for all these years. I would love to hear more on this from the true connoisseurs of Carnatic classical music who understand these matters far better than I do. May God bless and keep our Little Saraswati.

I have been attending Thyagaraja Aradhana in Thiruvaiyaru for many years. When I hear Pancha Ratnalu especially Entharo Mahanubhavulu, I invariably cry. Is it possible for a man to be in so deep in bhakti. What a humility . I wonder how vidwans sing this keerthana without tears in eyes. Hats off to Uttara and Unni.

Sri thyaraja is an avatar of valmiki who composed ramayana. He did rama japa (without food or water) for many years to achieve such greatness.
To give birth to such great avatar the parents and the previous 7 forefathers should have practiced eka pathni eka pathi (no unchaste behaviour) in word thought and deed throughout their life.

The great Saint Tyagaraja has written thousands of kritis (songs) on all Gods. But mostly kritis(songs) are in thousands praising , pleading, expressing, loving, showing his gratitude ON LORD RAMA. many many songs. All are gems. It gives you immense happyness when you sing to yourself doing your daily chores or listening to the kritis(songs) if you cannot know the language. IT IS WRITTEN IN TELUGU LANGAUGE. THE STATES ANDHRA PRADESH AND TELANGANA (SOUTHERN PART OF INDIAN STATES SPEAK THIS LANGUAGE) . THERE ARE ALSO OTHER VAGGEYAKARAS(GREAT MUSIC SCHOLARS) WHO WROTE IN TELUGU LANGUAGE , SRI SYAMA SASTRY. THERE IS ANOTHER SAINT-COMPOSER BHAKTHA RAMADASA WHO ALSO WROTE MANY MANY SONGS ON LORD RAMA IN TELUGU LANGUAGE.
