I was sitting front row center on the Voices of Angels tour in 2017. Watching Eabha sing this was one of the most captivating concert experiences I've ever had.

Are you irish. What do you mean by "Keep Ireland Irish". Ireland like all nations are mixtures of peoples. In Ireland you had the "indigenous irish", then you had Vikings, Normans, Scots and English all mixing in and contributing to the current irish gene pool. I love all Celtic Woman songs EVER made, but I have a particular liking for all the Gaelic Celtic Woman songs (of which of course this is one.) As usual Eabha, you absolutely nailed & absolutely crushed singing this song

OK since a few people asked, here are lyrics and my translations. Enjoy.
You have to remember there are lots of versions/variations on these old traditional irish songs depending on when and where they were collected. So in the Sadhbh song for instance Éabha leaves out a verse that would not be "suitable" for a CW song 😇
Ard Uí Chuain
This is a song about a man who has left Ard Uí Chuain in Antrim in northern Ireland and
emigrated to Scotland. He's looking back and remembering what it was like and wishing
he would be able to go back when the time comes to die.

**Hurling is a traditional irish game played with a hurley ( a stick ) and a ball. It's still played tody.

and he'll take her to Galway
