I have always cleared my messages on my watch and not my phone, knowing that they would still be there, but you’re right this morning I did it and I was mortified to see that all my messages on my phone are gone😡
you can still retrieve the messages on your phone just hit edit in the upper left hand corner and select Show Recently Deleted Messages.. You can recover those..
Yeah just realised this today. I hate having a long list of contacts and texts from them, on the small screen of the Apple Watch, as you need to scroll down and down to get to them all. I instead liked to read/respond to them on my Apple Watch, and then delete the text off of my Apple Watch, knowing that they would still be on my iPhone. I immediately thought iCloud messages had been turned on (I always have it switched off) but when I looked, it was switched off. I'm really hoping it's a bug, and it gets sorted soon, rather than Apple changing the way this works, assuming we will like it.
@@TallysVids I was at the Apple Store store today and 3 veteran employees of Apple had never seen anything like this before they were stomped!!! No one at Apple could figure it out. I placed a call into Apple Tech support, NOTHING! This was a first for them hearing about my his, so I just filed a tech request to see if I’m doing something wrong..
Not anymore iOS 18 will delete iwatch messages on both devices now, it’s ignoring!
