- The correct steering wheel with paddles for my car is 8T0 419 091 B WUL.
My airbag is 8K0 880 201 E 6PS.
My airbag cable harness is 8K0 971 589 A.
My original steering wheel was 8T0 419 091 A WUL.
The steering wheel that did not fit my car was 8R0 419 091 G WUL. Normally this is not an A4 part, but it seems some cars came fitted with this one, but mine did not, so I had to resell it and buy the correct one.
My car did not accept the coding for the gearbox, it only accepted the one for the steering wheel, but the paddles are still working perfect.

hey, good tutorial but do you always have to shift with the pedals or is it only when it is in manual mode.
You can always use them to shift, even when in D, but the car will also shift itself if you don't do it. When in M the car will only shift itself when over or under reving, the rest you do with the paddles.
Great video. I think they should have came with padel shifters in the first place. It makes no sense that the gti comes with them and not audi.

hi, thank you for your video! i have a question; did you take apart your old steering wheel? because i think that all audi steering wheels have a connector input for paddles behind the command buttons on your steering wheel.. Can you confirm this?

@@Boban_41 i wouldn’t know sorry. I went and bought a second hand steering wheel that had them on it. So i replaced the whole steering wheel and it didn’t need any coding. It worked right away. Car: audi a5 B8.5
Hey, great job with this install. Is your gearbox an s-tronic or multitronic? I have a multitronic 8speed gearbox and I am not sure it will work. Cheers

What is the difference between s tronic and multittonic?
From what I know, S-Tronic is a DSG gearbox and Multitronic is a CVT.
Btw: Multitronic doesnt have 8 gears, it has infinitly.

I have exactly the same situation here with my B8 avant - I bought a steering wheel with F1 paddle shifters, and my old steering wheel has all the other commands, except for the paddles. Should I also change the clock spring / steering angle sensor so the paddles can be activated? Or is it enough to activate them through VCDS?

Yes, as far as I know it's possible.

Hello. Check on the back of yours if you have any covers where the buttons would go. But, even if you have, you would need all the cables and route them correctly. Just does not make sense.
Nice tutorial, this would be the same for an audi a3 2015 that it doesn’t come with shiffters ? I heard some that is just plug and play
Might be the same. I know it's the same for the Q5.

@@oibrahimo1689 make sure your airbag fits the new steering wheel first. Then you need to install it and make the coding in the car systems.
Can you tell me, was there any settings lost after you disconnected the Negative of the battery?

In my case, nothing lost. Well, almost nothing, because the clock had to be reset, but that is about it.

I had to do it twice, ( the battery negative disconnect ) and first time was exactly the clock and date only,
but the second time for some reason I lost the one click open window from the drivers door buttons.
Essentially it is all fixed with a window switch reprogramming. which is only :
Hold the window button down for 10 sec.
Hold the window button Up for another 10sc. and all good.
And the feature is back online.

Would this work for a 2012 Audi A6 3.0T? It has a 7 speed S Tronic? I know the prestige trim has paddles but I got the premium plus which doesn’t..

Yes, you need vcds. It did not accept ALL the coding, but part of it was accepted. Without vcds it would not work.

i find in stering wheel only add stering wheel vibration and stering heater but i no find paddales shiffters
It's quite inpossible to guess what got damaged in the accident, but if you are unable to make them work whatever you try, they might be brocken indeed.

Era alta prindere la airbag. Nu conteaza ce model e, dar sa fie prinderea cum are al tau, ca sa poti reutiliza airbag-ul.

Pot pune un volan de b8.5 ? Are la fel comenzile ,doar ca are si padele. Mersi

Sorry, but I don't know exactlt the details of the cables. This is why I bought a new steering wheel with paddles already on it.

Does this work with any car from VAG that has DSG transmission ? I will buy a Golf V 2.0 TDI in the upcoming months with DSG transmission. Is it possible to install paddle shifters for that car as well ?

Da, functioneaza. Dupa cum se vede in video, nu mi-a acceptat una dintre codari, dar totusi functioneaza normal.
Eu daca as pune volan cu padele a functiona fara codare? Am tempomat,comenzi, tot,dar nu am padele.
Trebuie sa faci cel putin prima parte a codarii ca si in video. Fara codare deloc, nu functioneaza.

Salut. Au trecut cativa ani si nu mai stiu exact. Oricum, merg toate intre ele in generatia aia. Tot ce conteaza e sa ti se potriveasca airbag-ul tau in volanul nou. Si de asta iti poti da seama doar dupa ce iti desfaci volanul sa vezi prinderile.

Teoretic nu, dar tine cont sa fie airbag dual sau single stage, exact cum ai deja pe masina.
Dar nu cumpara ceva doar pentru ca iti spun eu ca probabil merge. Nu am nici pe departe experienta necesara la schimbat de volane.

It is from an A4, but was also used on A3. Not sure if it will work on A5 or not.

O gramada de modele au DSG. Problema e ca Audi le numeste pe toate S-tronic, asa ca e greu de stiut la prima vedere ce cutie e. Eu am motorizarea de 2L benzina si quattro. Masina e din 2010.

Should be the same thing. I do not think they have different steering wheels for different gearboxes.

Yup, exactly. But make sure you get the right steering wheel. It needs to have/not have buttons, the right airbag shape and fixing elements. Basically, it needs to be identical to yours+paddles.

You need a VCDS interface and any laptop with a usb port.
Where did you buy the VCDS interface?
Random internet seller.
Did you have to enter a password to get in the steering wheel module on the VCDS

@@rumruumm VCDS is the right way to go if you want to change specific codings. OBD11 Just changes random things because it is for so many cars and has to be easy.
