Matt I found my edition of this game and have been playing it. For me the most important thing is being smooth on the steering inputs. A slow-in fast-out approach is the fastest way around a track.
Just finishing a race early in the game is an accomplishment.
the pitstops in this game are so much fun, u have to actually press buttons to lift the car and change tyres, thats amazing
On career mode driving for Super Aguri, I did 5/7 laps of fuel in the tank and won the race without pitting 😂
finishing a race, that is surprising indeed! And funny how this game still has feats current one doesn't have... and also how more realistic the bumpers are.... in current ones they are often just drove over and ignored
Did hundreds of races in this game and I never saw a car blow up on the grid. That's amazing

I just picked this game up again and holy shit. I can’t believe how hard it is on hard difficulty I’m trying to start my career mode on a hard with Toro Rosso, but I cannot for the life of me complete the test and get a seat
TR is so understeery that getting a seat is literally impossible. Try aguri or midlands they are was better

The way to pass with any team is to the 3-lap cumulative test at Magny-Cours, Catalunya and Silverstone are ridiculously difficult, so just exit the game and re-apply for the trial until the location is Magny-Cours.
At Magny-Cours beating a single lap time is very difficult, but beating the 3-lap cumulative is doable as long as you put in consistent laps

Oh god Nurburgring next race. Truly one of the track models of all time. Lets just say theres some extra camber on some of the corners haha

There is understeer if you turn to much on this game. Listen to your tyres, especially in fast corners
