The car is misspelled on the title. It's Dolphin, not dophin. Also, you put a seal instead of a dolphin on the thumbnail.

    Great video as always Chris.
I’m sorry to say, your microphone needs an upgrade, as I really can’t hear you when it’s windy.
So, the Dolphin having a very poor battery at 45kW/h battery, and a very poor motor at 70kW is in no way worth $100 less than the MG4, (which has a 51 kW/h battery and a motor rated at 125kW) it is slow as a wet week, so the MG should outsell it 10-1. If it was $2k less, then you are getting what you paid for.
I’ll stick with my amazing Atto 3.
Looking forward to seeing you do a road test.

Hi Patrick, thank you for nice comment as always. Unfortunately it was very windy which caused me a lot of problems:)

It's really odd the comparisons that go round.
They aren't wrong, but for a whole bunch of marketing reasons all the manufacturers put out silly low end models.
In both the mg4 and dolphin the bottim specs aren't bang for buck, and nearly everyone will be getting mg4 essence or dolphin premium in the real world.
Annoyingly though because they try and gain interest and the 'cheapest EV' moniker / headlines these base models (half power and bugger all range in dolphin) get focus and media attention, who then make weird comparisons or discount the car entirely.

Hi Chris, love your video's, I'm getting an Atto within 2 months. But please please do something with your audio. The microphone picks up way too much windnoise, and I can't hear half of what your saying. In a video a few weeks back, it was exactly the same. Maybe a better windshield is an option.

Hi Peter, sorry about the wind noisy. I am saving up for a better microphone. Thank you for watching my video:)

Over priced at $40k. A brand new corolla hybrid is at $35k drive away. I go for the corolla instead. Being a chinese brand i can't justify how this byd should worth $40k. Not worth the price at all. Bring down to a more reasonable $35k drive away price. They should sell more units.

EVs are generally more expensive that the equivalent ICE vehicle due mainly to the batteries and the technology to drive them. Over time this price gap will slowly close however. If you have solar at home you can basically charge for free, so the fuel savings will be more than worth it alone.

@@johnlambert1744solar only works during the day, when you are supposed to drive the car… and the recharging times are ridiculous. Stop believing all the hype about EV… they are not ready for prime time nor are a smart economic decision, at least in Australia

what's wrong with chinese brand? this isnt 2000s....you have to move on from that mentality and dont listen to US propa

With rebates this car is basically equal price to a corolla assuming you earn less than 180k as a family. Obviously most people won't qualify for this (unless single). The other option is salary sacrifice which means you can pay the car off over 3 years with the equivalent of no interest paid due to all of the incentives.
