    my deathadder v3 wired doesn't really feel snappy, and that's really my only complaint, coming from the mamba elite, it just doesn't feel as snappy, i have no acceleration enabled anywhere, and for the life of me, i cant figure out why I'm not as accurate with this mouse

  • @adeergg
    @adeergg 6 месяцев назад +2

    i have 20.5 by 10.9cm hands. I also cannot comfortably grip in claw without my fingers trying to go under the mouse. I can play on small mice like the mz1 or starlight small just fine, but this shape just feels awkward comapred to the old deathadder. my thumb cannot hit a good spot on the left side and my fingers can never grip well on the right side. I cannot palm it, claw is uncomfortable, so i have to fingertip it. and if im going to fingertip a mouse i'd rather just play on the mz1. It's just a awkward shape unless you have smaller hands.

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  6 месяцев назад

      I know exactly what you mean -- I imagine it would be even a bit worse for you as your hands are slightly bigger than mine. Imo if you're looking for a good ergo take a look at the EC1-C or the wireless CW. I own one and find it to be slightly too big for me with my 19.5 x 10.5 ish hands, but for you it might work great.
      I mention this in the vid, but I think the DA V3 could be a lot better for people with larger hands if they simply lengthened out the finger ledge on the right side and rounded the harsh corners under the clicks that connect the front to the side pieces (eg like Zowie/Vaxee do). If you try to palm with large hands you by necessity wind up holding the mouse further forward and thus I find my fingers come off the end of the finger ledge and you feel that sharp/harsh corner which doesn't feel good. It makes me genuinely wonder if they even tested this shape appropriately it seems like such an obvious oversight imo.

    My normal deathadder v2 elite has a jumpy scroll wheel and i literally opened it up
    twice to clean the sensor. Im planning on buting either dav3 pro or logitech g pro x superlight

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  6 месяцев назад

      SuperLight is much smaller than the DA V2 or even the V3. It's not an ergo to boot but that's a good or bad thing depending on your preference. I found the SL comfortable to claw, but not palm for my 19.5 x 10.5 cm hands. The side buttons were hot garbage on my SL though before I sold it. Awesome feeling shell material/click feel though.
      DA V3 Pro I have a strong preference for the shell material/coating on the white one since it's more matte and chalky feeling VS the others which have basically the Zowie like perfectly smooth coating. Some like that, but I don't. DA V3 is a good mouse don't get me wrong, but I definitely think it falls short of its potential in a number of ways and I feel the shape would be way better for people with larger hands if they just made the finger ledge on the right side longer and rounded the edge corners under clicks like Zowie/Vaxee do.

      @@fivas That's good to know thanks. I had one, but I sold it a while back. It's a good mouse in some ways, but the shape wasn't for me and the side buttons were genuinely horrible on my unit. Nicest feeling mouse shell/material/coating I've ever used though.

    I have this mouse and I just cant use because how stiff the cable is, I know its needed more shielding for 8khz but I would prefer better paracord cable and only 1khz. That weight with nice cable would be much better than 8khz option.

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah, the cable is pretty bad. Not only is it shorter than the cable on the DA V2 wired it’s much stiffer and gets twisted up constantly. Very inflexible.
      They seem to have just carried over the cable from the wireless version where it was more acceptable since you’d be using it wired all the time (though I still value a good cable on wireless mice since you’ll likely have to play with it sometimes and eventually the internal battery will die/get bad).
      My bet is because of 8K polling it had to be thicker perhaps like you’re saying. Definitely an area for improvement. I’m also surprised that more mice don’t do the Zowie thing where they tilt the cable up since that means it drags on the pad a bit less.
      I don’t need 8K support but I would like 2K or perhaps 4K with a great sensor/implementation. Going off the optimum tech videos for wireless mice especially when you’re considering a balance with battery life it seems he settled on 2K polling after his testing.

      Other problem I faced with this mouse is even if we want change to tradicional paracord the connector is not compatible otherwise I would put my zowie C series cable on it or any other paracord. Lets hope we get Viper mini treatment but this time DAv3 mini (Atleast viper mini cable is still better than the current one) @@BlindBison

      @@cringekid69 Good idea with the cable swap, shame it’s not compatible here. A lot of people cable swapped the Vaxee Outset I recall as the original cable was like a stick lol. And yeah, I hear you. Maybe they’ll do that down road.

    • @Katze822228
      @Katze822228 5 месяцев назад

      @@cringekid69 the shielding is not required for 8khz to work, I'm using the dav3 at 8khz with a paracord and it works. But when I ordered my paracord the guy who made it said that the cable length for 8khz to work should be max 1.5m, i think i went for 1.3m or 1.4m to be save and because I don't need the cable to be longer. And like you said, the connector is different but usually if you order from someone who sells custom paracords they have that JST connector. There are other mice that use that connector, too. But you should make sure that the guy you order from knows about the different connector.

      @@didaka8 Well I can say it is complete different and not too comparable to the Super light or Viper since the size and shape are really different. Superlight has my favorite shell material/coating but the side buttons are really mushy/bad imo and I prefer ergo shapes myself.
      For me of those options I’d probably use the DA V3 personally. It’s really not a bad mouse (it’s quite a good one overall actually) but it’s also disappointing for me as I wish they’d made some different design choices.

    i got mine from amazon returns, i paid like 45 bucks for it, when i got it i thought someone swapped it for a fake one, the way the scroll wheel felt, until i plugged it in into synapse and it detected it and im able to configure everything, still feels solid tho but that scroll wheel is dog shit, nothing too huge tho

    • @BlindBison

      The wheel is really bad I agree with you - well at least they’ve got a lot of room for improvement on the eventual DA V4 (let’s hope)

  • @Dew4lk
    @Dew4lk 3 месяца назад +1

    tbh the more time that goes by the more i agree with this video, now im starting to think that the v3 wired is just a downgrade compared to my v2. From main clicks, side clicks, scroll wheel (too high), shape (to narrow and something is just off which i cannot describe), prefer the weight of the v2 (seems like the sweetspot, starting to agree with zowie that the lowest weight possible isnt always a benefit). I guess my endgame now is either the EC1 or dav2.

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  7 дней назад

      Hey thanks :) Yeah, I don’t want to miscommunicate in that I do think overall the DA V3 is a pretty good mouse. But for me I think I prefer the shape and scroll wheel of the V2 overall and there are just too many little things (or big things actually - when it comes to the finger ledge slant back harsh edge and sub par wheel/clicks) that hold it back from being truly great imo.
      I really wish Vaxee would give us an EC2 clone in between the 1 and 2 in size and/or that Zowie would grant us a proper EC1.5 - but barring that maybe the DA V4 will solve some of our gripes - here’s hoping.

    It's all preference I guess. I love the shape, coating and click feel. The only thing that bothered me with the clicks was that the pre-travel is a bit too much so i taped them to the shell to reduce the pre-travel. That way the clicks feel really responsive especially if i directly compare them to the clicks of other mice. And that's the most important thing about the click feel to me.
    I agree with the stock wire though, it's way too heavy. I replaced it with a paracord.
    About the shape I had actually the opposite problem. I grip the mouse a bit further back and for me it always felt too long in the front and for a long time i couldn't quite tell why. But I recently removed the sticker on the bottom and experimented with the position of the mouse skates and i noticed that if I move the front skates from it's original position further back to where the sticker previously was, that "long" feel of the mouse goes away and that's how I use it now.
    I actually love the dav3 now, any time i try out one of my old mice again I immediately wanna go back to the dav3, it feels so much better in every way

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  6 месяцев назад

      I think it comes down to 1) How big your hands are and 2) What grip style one prefers. I'm starting to think I just have freakishly wide hands compared to the average lol
      I'd be OK with the DA V3 shape if the finger ledge on the right side extended out a bit further and if they rounded the sharp corners underneath the clicks where the side pieces/ledges connect. So, basically how Zowie/Vaxee do it.

      DA V3 Pro isn’t really “crap” it’s a pretty good mouse. But I do think overall the EC1/EC2 or perhaps the Outset AX/NP-01 are generally better built and have more thoughtful shapes in certain ways.
      How big are your hands? Mine are 19.5 x 10.5. If your hands are smaller I would recommend the EC2-CW as a strong option.
      Lots of choices though, I own tons of mice and none of them are “quite right” for me. DA V3 is on my desk quote a bit though despite my issues with it. If you claw grip I’d say my complaints are far less relevant if that matters.

      The original white pro one has a much better shell material and coating for my taste - more chalky and matte whereas now all the ones they’re making are that cheap smooth feeling plastic which I’m not a fan of myself.
      Don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad mouse but it really should be better than it is and they made some very strange oversights like the finger ledge harsh edge sucking and the clicks/wheel being pretty bad.

      The scroll wheel also fine it's just a bit higher for some reason which I cannot understand.
      But the shape needs more curvature I never understood what's the point at making the sides flat, I added grip tape to my mouse and it slightly helped

      Of course -- I certainly acknowledge if your hands are smaller than mine and if you don't hold the mouse in a palm/relaxed finger tip grip then basically none of this will apply to you. I'd still argue the mouse has some "objective" flaws in that you could lengthen out the finger ledge and round the corners under the clicks which connect the side piece/ledges (eg how Zowie/Vaxee do it) and this would make the mouse way better for people with larger hands without harming the shape in any way for other users.
      Beyond that the click feel/wheel feel/cable are really are subpar if you try this mouse side by side with the EC2-C (or Vaxee Outset AX specifically in the case of the clicks). Though there is unit to unit variance there to some degree there.
      Some people will be less bothered by these things than I am, c'est la vie
