**Please know** I appreciate every single comment but the time has come where I can no longer reply to all ❤️❤️ 😢
Yay!! Congrats on all your success 💜💜💜
Try 99% alcohol to rub of stickiness
I've tried several transfer tapes, and choose Duck brand. Never seepage, never creases, never sticky. I hot glue around the cookie cutter. Molds always come out perfect.
Can I ask if you have a way to make the inside of your mold even shinier?
@@Terraann85 It's all dependent on how shiny the object is of which you're making the mold. Once a mold is made, there's no way to make it shinier, that I know of.
HI Claire, Thanks for your testing all of your videos are always very much appreciated Lin 👍❤️
When I made a mold, I used a sheet of glass from a picture frame and stuck the item down with double sided sticky tape. I love how you added the mica powder to the mold. I have tried looking for the popsickle acrylic blanks but can't find them from the link you posted. Xxxx love the work you are doing xxx
Heyy Tracey .. I was thinking this would work for sure by taping my items down 😍 so good to know it works. The blanks can be ordered from Moray direct on his Instagram as he makes them to order xx
@@ClairesCraftyCorner OK thank you. Xx
This was very helpful and I love the shimmer from the mica!
Thank yoooo Mizz so happy you found it helpful xx the search for the dream answer continues x lol
Thank you Claire. You are slowly but surely teaching me and giving me the confidence to move onto some resin projects. Take care. 😊😊😊
Thank you so much Rob x that's amazing ❤️❤️ makes me happy to hear
I love these moulds, so cute and fun 🤩
Hi lovely I always use 1 of 2 methods and never have a problem I either hot glue blank down or double sided tape it just the blank and put it on either foam board, acetate a tile or thin perspex as it's great as it's flexible so pops off real easy but love the results and I cut up a mold the other day and added it to liquid silicone to increase volume as I knew I didn't have enough then tilted the mold to cover the last little bit and it was on perspex so was perfect x
Don't be afraid to use the plastic sheet, I use them to direct pour of resin too and it works perfect. Great video thank you for sharing !!!
Thank you for doing this! I’ve been having trouble with my molds, pretty sure it’s because I’m doing the hot glue method but we shall see. Thanks again m! Your molds are stunning
Great video lots of great information thanks for sharing 😍❤️ xx
Great experiment, as always, I saw a comment about using a glass base, that's a great idea, I used a left over bathroom tile when I tried it as a base and it worked out ok but it was my first time of trying to make a mould and I used LOTS of hot glue lol x
Thank You for your time and sharing this
Could you clean the sticky one with an alcohol wipe? Also if you're going to repurpose the ruined mould, you can trim off the excess from the other two as well. Thanks for doing the experiments Claire.
Thank yoooo ❤️❤️ I am not sure if the silicone will like the alcohol .. but I might try that with the previous one that is really really sticky .. this one is not so bad at all just not as dry as the Acetate 😍😍😍
Hi Claire! 🙋🏻♂️
I didn’t make a mould yet but this video will help me a lot when that moment comes 😉👍 Thanks for sharing! 🥰 Have a nice day!
That's great to hear thank you so much Gabrielle xx ❤️
Thank you, Claire ❤
Wow thank you for sharing! I love it!! 😍
Thank yoooo Jacqueline ❤️❤️
Ahhh so these you can now use to create other resin pieces right??? I love the way you show different methods of doing it so everyone can see how differently they turn out or see what works best and what doesn’t. These videos are so helpful for people looking to do the same thing.
Heyyyyy babe yessss they can now be used to make tonnes of ice Lolly pieces x 😍😍😍 thankyoooooo
Hi Claire, thanks for another helpful video! Maybe you could glue the acrylic template with a thin layer of mod podge or similar light glue, down to the acetate film or to the foam board ( something made out of plastic) that no silicone will seep underneath?! And maybe it can be removed without any trace….
I've had good luck using clay as the base for molds. It's re-useable, and it saves on hot glue as well because you can just squidge the excess clay up against the edge of your housing to form a dam! The downside is that the face of your mold tends to be very matte and can be a tad wonky and uneven if you don't use a clay roller. Maybe not ideal for commercial mold makers, but it does the trick for personal ones.
I use just a plastic paper and hot glue around edges like ur first one but I also just use a little bead of hot glue to glue the item down to the plastic.
I have seen some use a tile piece and hot glue or double sided tape to stick the pieces down then hot glue the mold around it.
Have you tried Press n Seal? It doesn't have the same type of adhesive as packing tape (cello tape). You could also try a thin layer of wax (let set up enough to place your item on without being fully hardened).
Great info, thanks!!
Thanks so much Robin ❤️❤️❤️
have you tried spray adhesive? Quilters have a lightly sticky spray that washes away they use to put the batting between the layers without pins. I think there is also a similar adhesive available like that used on post it notes. that way you could apply it just to the object rather than the entire bottom.
Thank you so much Diana .. I have not tried spray adhesive... definitely something to research 😍😍 thank you so much xx
Informative video
Thank yooo Nidhi xx
For the non sticky surfaces could you put doubled sided tape to the blank to keep it from floating instead?
You could try soft sulfur-free polymer clay the cutter goes in nicely and the blank should stick. Nice experiment 👍👍
I have heard that using clay to lay your piece on works great. I have never tried it but I have heard.
I was thinking the same thing.
Great video Claire. Could u not use a silicone mat as the base? X
Heyyyy Kim thankyooo ... sadly silicone sticks to silicone 😢😢😢
Knew I had high expectations of the acetate 💜
Ohhhhh yessss haaaaaa I was thinking oh you will be happy with these results 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@ClairesCraftyCorner 😁😁
oh i so want to know the answer to that question too lol. i use double sided tape on the bottom of the pieces or even prit stick to glue them down. please find the magic answer lol
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Rubbing alcohol may take the sticky layer off the cricut transfer tape mould like what they do with gel nails to take away the sticky layer
Thank yoooo Liz .. its worth trying on my old one for sure 😍
@@ClairesCraftyCorner thank you for replying I love your channel
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😁
Thank yooo Diana ❤️❤️
I need me an ice lolly mould
Super simple way to remove hot glue..... A drop or two of alcohol. You may need to pull away a tiny spot to get it to seep between the glue and the item it's stuck to, however once you do, it will come off as if it was never stuck on. 😉
I am curious, is the sticky issue you had from cure issues, or simply that it grabbed the adhesive from the tape? Have you tried wiping the mold with adhesive remover to see if it can be saved?
Have you tried contact paper/ shelf liner? That cricket stuff is spendy.
I have to try this. I'm going to search to find the edge tape or equivalent here in Canada Molds Question. What is the recommended way to store your molds in-between pours? Paper inbetween them if they can be stacked? In lidded Containers? I now have a few to start and all varying sizes but don't know how to store them. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Heyyyy lovely .. I would store them in containers or in some plastic ziplock bags as they can dry out over time xx
@@ClairesCraftyCorner thank you so much for the tip!
Use double-sided sticky tape to tape the blanks down...
Thankyooo 🙌🙌
Life tip for the future, isopropyl alcohol will break the bond of hot glue and whatever its glued to.
That is a fantastic tip thankyoooo ❤️❤️❤️
Please don't use your heat gun to remove the hot glue, it will make a terrible mess! Just saturate a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and put it all around the hot glue. It should come off clean.
Ohhhh perfect thank you so much that's really helpful ❤️❤️❤️
