I hate your track videos, because I can't go anymore, hahaha. The sound of your ZR1 is amazing. Sounds like you were passed when that miata didn't yield to faster traffic, lol.
I'm surprised that driving that aggressive in Sport 1 mode didn't click on the VSC light at times. My Z06 does it a lot when I drive harder thru and out of the corners.
Damn miata fu**ed you right at the start of the lap, lol. I bet those banked turns as got to keep you honest with all those G's too. Too much front grip... and I bet that over-steer would bite you quick! Thanks for sharing.
Hey man, i love your videos. Can you tell me about the tire specs and suspension settings that you are running here? I also have a 2019 M7 ZR1 but i can only manage a 2:07. A lot to learn. Cheers
Thanks! The car had stock suspension with used Pirelli DH slicks 305/660-18 front and 315/680-18 rear. Alignment as I recall was ~ 2.4/2.0 front/rear camber, about 0.5mm toe out front and 1.5mm toe-in rear as I recall. I don't have much time at WGI either and it is a very intimidating track. Learn to use the data to compare to your self and see where you can pick up time for the ideal lap.
Luke is a very good driver and his Viper is an incredible car. I don't have much track time at WGI so the ZR1 definitely had a lot more potential with the right driver.
Holy shit ! 160 , I thought I was fast at 143 in the back strieght , great screen w,ith many helpful read outs, great speed in all the corners, I have a 2013 zo6 , it has 150 k miles , what do you recommend for my next Car? I don't want any risk of overheating
I had no overheating problems with either of my C7 Z06s and I consider them hard to beat if you want to run it largely as it left the factory. Just make sure if it's a pre-2017 one you add the secondary radiator.
I don't think there is a lot to gain in Race over Sport 1 but it does let you slide the car around more. I usually will start the day in Sport 1 and move to Race once the tires are warm but I really don't have a lot of confidence at this track and like the extra safety margin. The only time I ever felt the car slide was crossing the hump in T9 so I really wasn't near the limit.
A shame that on both fast laps you had to get around a car taking your optimal line (Porsche slowed bus stop & Miata). Noticed your speeds through the esses creeped up when you were behind the 911 and you retained that on further laps (low 120s vs high teens). How come you aren't using all the track exiting the carousel? What do you think you have in it? High 1:57s, low 1:58s?
I'm still getting a feel for the track and we had a lot of rain during the day. In general I was trying to stay off the curbs as they can hold water. It absolutely has 1:58's and I bet 1:56's if I could get as comfortable with this track as I am with VIR.
14:50 is the start of the 1;59.58 lap and 22:53 is the start of the 1;59.61 lap
Good lord, that car is so fast on the straights
That car really was a beast and I miss it. In the hands of someone with more experience at WGI it certainly would've had a better lap time.
Your lap times were just fine!!!@@HiPoDriver
Excellent! Looks Great! Bring back the C7's.
Keep posting the great vids. I enjoy them.
Wow the car seemed perfect on those 3rd gear turns in the second half of the track. Like it was designed for them.

1:56.52 coming 👍...I can feel it..LOL!!!!
Nice driving! I'm heading back up there this October with NASA.

Watched the video and I think I know how to lower my lap time !!! Put a 700 HP engine in my car!!😀😀🏁🍺
@Gerrit Todd I have confidence in my car when I turn in !!! Lap after lap is 😁😁🏁🍺 Buckle up and see !! ruclips.net/video/7Urh6QiJc4M/видео.html
there's more time in there at T1. squeeze in the throttle rather than coasting through the turtles at T1 apex
If you do any west coast events in your c7gs, blackwing, or c8 let me know. Would love to come out at the same time and get some tips or coaching.
WIll do! Someday I'd like to make a West Coast swing.
I got just as mad as you when that Miata came out.
Luke put up a 1:56 in his Dodge Viper ACR last year.

Well well, you beat the best time of all Nascar drivers. Terry Labonte could only muster a 2:11.47 so bravo on you.
Crazy the z06 runs 155-156
I keep looking at the Gmeter to see the map. And look for the distance ahead list. SMH, thanks forza...

Modify your c6 z
Wow! That’s a nice track! I think that you would be 1.5 Sec faster hits by switching to PTM Race
Do you prefer sport1 over Race mode? Or is it dependant on the conditions at a particular track, on that day?

What telemetry systems are you using?
That is the GM Performance Data Recorder and I'm using Cosworth Pi Toolbox for analysis.

Agreed. Are you in the Michelins or Pirellis?
Pirellis
Is that a manual corvette ZR1!?
Yes
That’s an awesome overlay. You doing that with Pi toolbox?
you getting your rare zr1 fixed bro? i hope u didnt get rid of it, and it shouldnt be totalled
No, it was totaled and is someone else's project now.
@@HiPoDriver Awe really man?? So someone else is fixing your car? Are u gonna get another ZR1??
@@zachattack2016 last I heard it was headed to Europe. I'm building a 2019 GS in to the ultimate track C7.
@@HiPoDriver damn dude.. how could you let her go.. and what are u gonna do with that G/S?
no dsc ?
At the time the DSC controller didn't work with the 2018+ cars. That's been fixed since.
