Daft Punk was a late 80s/early 90s European electronic music duo who had a BUNCH of hits. This is a mashup of seven of their songs. The looks of the PTX members are an homage to some of the looks the original Daft Punk used in their videos back in the day. This is one of PTX's first big videos and this is still all of the original members, before Avi left.
@3:43 the group is as follows Middle-Scott, baritone and subs for bass. He is the one who really came up with the idea for Pentatonix. Him, Mitch, and Kirstie all went to high school together. Top left-Kirstie, soprano. She is in my opinion the most improved person in the group. She was shy and not confident and if you watch some later stuff you see how much she comes into her own. Top right-that's Mitch. He's a chameleon. So is Kirstie. Mitch is a counter tenor and an amazing voice+amazing human. Bottom right-Kevin. He is the best beat boxer in the world in my opinion. He also happens to be a genius. He was pre-med and quit to be in Pentatonix. He speaks a million languages and plays instruments. He joined the group when Scott found a video on RUclips of him playing cello while beatboxing. Crazy. Last is bottom left-Avi. We miss Avi. He left on good terms in 2017. He is the bass and does some beats with Kevin and also sings as I'm sure you remember from hallelujah (he is the one that looks like Jesus). Not pictured here is Matt. He replaced Avi as the new bass in 2017. He is great. I feel like I hear his emotion better when he sings than I did with Avi but he can't get as low or do the tricks that Avi can. Daft punk usually wear shiny motorcycle helmets so PTX changed their look to mimic some sort of electronic vibe. I believe another pentaholic elsewhere mentioned that this video was made on an iPad.
AVI (who you call jesus) was in the group until 2017 in this video he is with the cornrows, Mitch has the High voice he just changes his look a lot he is wonderful, Kirstie, Scott and Kevin everyone in this video is the original members. They’re a ALL amazing and my favorites do tend to rotate over the years but Scott has been my favorite for a while! They’re all the original members here- even Jesus. This cover was released years so- 2013 I believe so they do look different. I definitely recommend checking out the year their videos were released to give you an idea if it is an older or newer track. Matt, The only new member, who replaces Avi as the bass singer, didn’t join until 2017/2018 I’ve been to eight of their concerts over the years and they ALWAYS perform this. It used to be their opening number for a while. I swear they could sing this in their sleep now. Their Grammy got this wasn’t actually for their performance (not that it isn’t amazing) it was for this arrangement. They are masters at arranging
