Bonjour et merci pour cette vidéo instructive. J’ai apprécié la technique des nervures de la feuille de chêne. Merci pour le partage et bravo pour l’utilisation des gants protecteurs. Michèle
Nice projects, no power tools, nice voice. Subed. I recently made a pendant from a spiral-cut-exercise. Things like this seem like a great way to practice.
Hey, I usually buy wood online - on ebay, for example. Etsy might also have wooden blocks. Check timber merchants online as well. And saw mills sell off cuts as well.
Thank you so much! It's not difficult to carve, actually. I was a bit scared to carve hard woods in the beginning, but it is really satisfying! Black walnut and padauk are among the best, I think
Hi! I wouldn't recommend using softer woods for something like this, as they are prone to breaking and they usually don't look that good unless painted. But at the end of the day wood is wood, so you could experiment! Thickness really depends on how confident you feel. They can be very thin and a bit thicker if you are scared of breaking it. I would say use approximately 7 mm thick wood (or 9/32 inches)
Werewolf whittler I subscribe I carve irish shillaglahs and spoons always looking for ideas much obliged but what's your accent ? Try using a brush like a nail brush on wood to remove fuzzy bits 👍🇬🇧🐾🦊

@@Werewolfwhittles thanks for the reply. I'll have to give those woods a try.
Good Job
Thank you kindly!
Great work! How thick is the piece you start with? As I am a beginner in woodcarving, would it be possible to make this with softer wood?
