I used cherry wood for the first project (the bird on the heart). The dimensions of my whole piece of wood (together with a 'handle') were:
7 cm x 2.5 cm x 1.7 cm or
2 3/4 x 1 x 5/8
I used oak for the second project. The dimensions of my piece were:
8.5 cm x 2.5 cm x 1.2 cm or
3 5/16 x 1 x 1/2 in imperial units (hopefully it makes sense, I am still struggling with these units).

you really are the best for beginners. Thank you for not making these too technical and explaining. Are you a teacher?
Thank you so much! I am still trying to find the best way to approach it, so I appreciate the feedback! I have taught languages, I don't know if it is helping... maybe! 😊😄
Love it, so concise and straight to the point. Will be carving them for sure! Thanks for the patterns too. As someone who has no idea how to draw they will prove useful, lol
Thanks for sharing. I'm a beginner and found this a great tutorial to follow. Will definitely be doing this soon.
Thank you so much for this cute little bird, and all your other videos.
Thanks for the tutorial and the patterns will be very helpful.
Thanks for the tutorial. You inspired me to start whittling.
Wonderful, that's nice to hear! Happy whittling
Thank you so much for your wonderful projects ..Really cute and unique ..Thank you so much
You are very kind, Gene! Thank you!
nice tutorial thanks
Muchas gracias por estas ideas y por los trucos para teñido de las piezas. Yo utilizo en ocasiones el café bien oscuro 🙋🏻
Nice work and video Thanks
What a great video! Very well done! I'm going to mention this video, and your channel in the next Wood Carving Weekly episode.
Yaay, thank you, Cousin Jack :)
My pleasure!@@Werewolfwhittles
Glad to see another of your videos!
Very good tutorial! Wonderfully narrated! Thanks!
Nice!
I appreciate your videos. Do you have a particular knife that you prefer for smaller carvings?
Thank you! I mostly use Flexcut detail knife kn13. It's rather affordable and I've been using it for years
Cool. That's what I'm currently using aswell.
Not to pry, but I seen in another video of yours where you recieved a couple OCCT knives. Wondering if you like the flexcut over those ones or does it just depend waht you're doing?
Cheers@@Werewolfwhittles
@WobblingHobGoblin occ tools are really nice, they have beautiful steel.. I think I keep using flexcut because I got so used to it... it's like one jumper that you wear whole winter, you know 😄 but I will try to use occ tools more and will let you know the results in a new vlog!
Sweet, looking forward to it!@@Werewolfwhittles
What is that stuff you turned it black with please 🙏 I’d really like to make some for myself.. or buy some if you purchased it rather than made it
