Had an 181 Passat in yesterday, Peter - owner was adamant he wanted the DPF removed & the egr blanked.. endless DPF faults & the car was in limp - he'd been everywhere & had been milked with bills. Took the car in, had a goo - the upper temperature sensor, the one you can see right in front of yer face, wasn't in the hole.. as in it was just sat there flapping about.. rang the owner, talked sense into him about why he didn't want his DPF removed, how I could sort it for him. He reluctantly agreed. Cleaned the DPF, refitted the sensor, did a regen, cleared all codes - cars mintier than a pocket full of polos. Owner chuffed. Buoyed by this automotive triumph, I went back to a Navara I'm doing the engine on - went to fit the cams in, promptly broke the exhaust side one into more pieces than it was when God made it - any more than 1 is bad.. FFS... never broke a cam before, ever. Bad words were said.... No bother, I shall source a good used cam... 6 hours driving later, with periodic looking at worn out cams lads were selling that I didn't fancy, I managed to buy a pair (no way was he selling me just the one..) off a nice Lad so deep in Wicklow that there were wolves & mammoths still roaming around the parish. In the lashing rain. And the dark. On a friday evening.. If these break going back in, I'm jacking & joining the Hari Krishnas.. I like the Volvo 40 series yokes as a rule - however they have a PCV system designed by Santa himself, which when it goes pear shaped, leads them to smoke more oil than Bush did in Iraq. It is their Achilles foot. It's also easier to burn the car & hide the ashes than it is to replace, due to the Volvo nerds getting overly clever when they drew this on paper. That said, they're still a good yoke - better still when the ABS works due to your tender ministrations. I believe the K7 is quite good, but the K9 is a dog.
@@jamesward5721what a week you’re having 😂😂😂😂 When sh_t goes wrong it really goes wrong. Fingers crossed that the navara worked out this evening 🤞🤞 Absolutely no one avoids that kinda stuff going wrong once in a while. That Hilux chassis was a fair undertaking too 💪💪💪
Long press on the start button puts Volvos into position 2 key switch. Just press and hold until the dash lights come on without touching the clutch if manual, or brake if its automatic.
I stupidly ignored the TPM for 12 miles and its gonna cost me 230 euro for a new Michelin 245 45 19. 😢 (They come on after the air pressure drops more than 6psi i believe)
Peter got windscreen fixed. 1300 euro for a Polestar 2 or there around ( she had windscreen cover thank god). I checked while i was there to see how much itd cost for a new windscreen on my 16 Mazda. 268 euro!!😂 What da heck!!!

@@kennedysgarage3281 We will overcome, Peter - into every life, some p155 must sprinkle. I just shrug & plough on. Be grand. :-)
I have a Thinktool and when it loads up it says "Powered by Launch". I believe Thinktool , Topdon and Kingbolen all use the exact same Launch software

@@tomcurran65 good man Tom, one of those quirks that I’m not familiar with 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
@kennedysgarage3281 yeah I know my Volvos, put me in another car and I can't be bothered to learn it
Those 1.6 V40s are fairly quick 180bhp ish.
Same as Renaults then, maybe Toyotas as well?
