It's been especially frustrating everytime I hit a bump and my music goes to loud static from my Bluetooth transmitter lol. Just fixed it and we'll see how it works best time I drive but seems to be better. Thank you so much!! 😁
thanks mate mine same annoying problem.... slight movement an turns off.. so put s plastic toothpick down the bottom an pulled the pins to and now snugg fit... an works a charm

My Lighter was in the cup holder while using gps .. anyway it got soda and coffee on it during the months it got very sticky .. I sprayed it with lube , now it POPs into the back seat .. So dont spray it with lube.
it would probably be a lot easier to disconnect the battery and get in there with a flathead screwdriver but thank you for the tip, ill have to give it a try
In our older Freightliner the power pretty works but it flickers of and on with every single bump. I am assuming there's a loose connection. Takes forever to charge phone. Not enough power to run a GPS or little fan. Oh and anyone who knows freightliners with know it's bumpy ride!
i tried this before, maybe i didnt move the prongs out far enough? I didn't want to over do it. My lightet used to work periodically now it just doesn't pop up or heat up at all. I know its getting a current because the light on my cell phone charger comes on when I plug it in briefly to test for a current. I dont use it for anything other than a lighter because, both my auxiliary sockets are used for charging cells and other power source needs. Both auxillaries are working just fine. it has to be the prongs. i was twisting my lighter for a while and that made it heat up and pop out before. Could I have over twisted it and broken the lighter itself? is there any way to test the actual lighter to see if it needs to be replaced?
I just watched this video again and used my magnifying glass to see better of what he was referring to pry open, but I still couldn’t see, and it’s obviously not possible to watch him do it, all I could see was what he showed us twice that the cigarette lighter did pop out.
Ahh a Excellent question I wish to bring this Mystery of the Ages to light In my upcoming Video. Simply put , there is no area recessed in the outer ring to accept the two outer ridges that are the only thing holding your phone charger in place

Fixed!! Darn, that was getting annoying. I would of my phone in and get to work and realize it hadn't been charging the entire drive! Great tip!
yeah and then the sat nav turns off and no idea where you are xD

I loved my cigarette lighter when I smoked. I not longer smoke cigarettes but use the 12v for all sorts of things.

Hell, just pull the unit out and disconnect the leads. Then you can use a screwdriver no problem.

You had over done it, as in bent the tabs too far in. You would have needed to open them up slightly.

You dont show how to tighten the socket the lighter fits in, just the lighter itself.
