I wanted to share, I was having issues with the wiggles too in my special pens. Wanted to share cause I found out if you add a bit of hot glue into your pen holes & immediately add your favorite stainless tips in. I just got a 4 placer from Amazon and I love it. I am going to order a steel 6 placer and a steel straightener. I tend to be a hard presser myself, but I am trying really hard to have a lighter hand. Thanks so much for sharing!
I love my steel straighteners! I’m trying to have a lighter hand too - using my pretty placer crayon forces me to be a bit lighter, or I leave wax everywhere. 😂
Very impressed with your video! I am confused. I bought a 2 placer steel from Frenzy (Doni) I have to fill often with mud. Can you tell me if I want to buy 1 to buy a steel all in one for rounds and the square what do you reccomend. Also a steel 9 steel placer. Ricki Lieberman💙💎💙💎💙💎
If you only want to buy one tip, round or square is a personal preference. If you do more squares, I’d get the square. But the round tip will do both, if you like to work on both rounds and squares. My favorite all in ones are the round Cateared ones - the link to them on Amazon is in the description under the video. I haven’t gotten a 9 steel placer I like yet, but they do have some on Amazon if you search.
I wish someone would make metal multi placers that are curved like the 3D printed ones from etsy. They are amazingly quick to use by rocking down the line ofdrills, but a little fragile feeling.
I just rec’d an everlasting tip in the mail today & was excited to use it, but it’s too small for the 2 different acrylic pens I tried (one is a cateared pen with a metal cateared tip). I bought the other acrylic pen off Amazon bc it was pretty. Is the best way to get the everlasting tip to fit is washi tape in your opinion? My reason for buying the everlasting tip was bc I kept hearing great things about it. I thought maybe the well of the tip might hold more glue dots than the cateared tip. Any knowledge about that or if it even matters? I’ll now look for a video on how to use the washi tape to hold the tip in. Thank you for any help you can provide.
If I recall, the Cateared tips have a larger well than the everlasting tips. I wish tips and pens would be a standard size, but unfortunately they aren’t. If a tip doesn’t fit securely, I generally use washi tape to hold it. I’ve heard of other people using hot glue, but I’ve not tried that method. Thanks for watching!!
I'm wishing I can find a single barrel with a smaller diameter. I find that it picks up and keeps the drill from falling off or sinking in the well. I cannot find one. I have one on the wishbone ergonomic pen but that is exclusive to that pen and is not made for the acrylic or resin pens. I'm still trying tips but I think I also prefer the thinner multiplacers but not sure yet. Thanks for all the comparisons. I spent alot on everlasting from Australia and do not like them. This was very helpful and show we all have different preferences as well. I wish I could use glue dots but the glue is like rubber and doesn't stick or stay in. It used to work but now all my dots are like rubber so I use museum putty in the multiplacers. Also just got some catearred and they are ok, better than the pink brass. Love the quality.
I tried the everlasting tips as well, and though they are ok, I do prefer the Cateared full steel tip. I've tried the putty as well, but I prefer the glue dots. Our weather causes gumming issues with the putty. Thanks for watching!
I have been wondering about these steel tips and multi placers because they are so expensive and so many different types, I was getting confused on what was the best to buy. Thank you so much for this video it is extremely helpful and it gives me choices plus I was worried if they would fit my pens. I do use the thin multi placers but I will use either size to be honest. Great video have subscribed much love from Ireland. 🤗💎👍
Thank you for telling about the steel tips, but the sound is very low and you get out of screen ever so often, which makes it a little hard to see the different tips 🙂
Which one is the green one your favorite I want to order it but confused! Where should I order your favorite from? Where should I order the square tip from? Where should I order the steel straightener and multiplacers steel from? Please help I am very confused,! Where did you order the very lightest pen from? Thank you Ricki 💎💙💎💙💎💙💎🥋
You can find a link for the green pen in the description below the video. I got it on Amazon. You can also order the square steel tip and steel straighteners from Amazon - the link is also in the description below the video.
Have you seen the sets now that basically make the tips $0.75-$1.25 each depending on the lot you purchase? I just bought a set of 24 (2 ea of all of the options...2 single angles, 2 regular singles, 2 straighteners and then 2 each of 2-10 placers) for about $20 after taxes. I find they have the same issue for the bit that goes into the pen as the ones from the sets you've shown...the placers fit into the pens but the straighteners are not quite thick enough...I use clear tiny rubber bands (for hair) from the dollar store and it helps. The placers are not the super thick ones, but I'm hoping to give them a try here soon. They aren't stainless steel, but they feel pretty solid anyway. I also think it's funny how we view the well so differently. I LOVE the shallow tips because I don't have to use as many glue dots to fill them up. I also never put wax in any of them because I switched to glue dots before trying to any of the non brass tips and discovered that glue dots did not like the brass barrels if they'd had wax in them before. The wax lubricates the inside and doesn't give the glue dots anything to stick to. If you've used wax in the tips you've tried glue dots in with the shallower wells then that could be why your glue dots are coming out. I don't have that problem and never have. I have the issue of not being able to find the right stick to my glue dots so they don't want to release the drill to the canvas because the glue dot is stickier...this is especially the case for poured glue as DSA is a lot stickier.
Interesting, I didn’t consider that the wax would form a barrier for the glue dots. I just got a very inexpensive set of tips that I will be unboxing soon. To ‘prime’ your glue dots, try tapping them on your clothes. They pick up a bit of lint, which reduces the stickiness just enough to make it easier to work with. It sounds crazy, but it works! I will have to try glue dots in the shallow well tips - I’ve got several I’ve not used for anything. Thanks for watching and commenting!
There is a link to the Amazon store in the description below the video. There are several different stores where you can find steel multiplacers, but I liked the ones from the Recordarme store.
@@DiamondPaintingAnonymous I thought you really liked the double placer from DrillPenFrenzy? Did you think those were too thin? Do you have any other multi-placers from DrillPenFrenzy? Why do you like the Recordarme tips on Amazon better? Also, I never heard your take on the Square Single Placer? I was curious if you liked that?
@@svonnestickley6311 The double placer from DrillPenFrenzy is nice, not too thick. I don’t have any others from them, so I can’t speak to the rest. The Recordarme ones I have are the ones with the thinner walls, which I prefer. As for the square single placers, they are nice if you do a lot of squares, but I don’t think they are necessary - the round single placers work perfectly well.
I just ordered my first diamond painting kit so I am as brand new at this as it gets. I do have a question. Why does the depth of the well of the tip matter?
It doesn't, really. For me, since I use glue dots in my single placers, the depth matters because I may have to add more glue dots in a deeper well. Thanks for watching!!
I so agree on the thin multiplacers. I like the thin plastic ones but for square drills especially, the fatter ones work much better for square drills. I have gone nuts buying many different brands and I like the ss tips as long as it is deep enough to hold the wax for single placers and fatter for the multiplacers. Also, one brand on amazon is not stainless. It is plastic inside so be careful. Thanks for your video!
