I remember my first panic toss. The Ranger that was spooked by a Sectoid tossed it at 2 civilians just chilling at the intersection adjacent to the gunfight. It was glorious.
I like how out of the 4 elite clone commandos are, one is unconscious, another panicking and wounded, one bleeding out, and the last is straight up dead and lying in a pool of acid, and the rest of the mission was up to two regular Joes; one that panicked and blew himself up with a frag, and the one with the badass voice (Gears of War, nice choice) had try finishing the objective.
But how did it end!?!?!? That was becoming such a good story. Could the squad sacrifice their lives to destroy that beacon? Would they call in Evacuation and run?? Would anyone else frag themselves???
Tyler Dice spoiler alert: they all died an I cried like a bitch (the last part may or may not have happened, historians still debate the matter to this day)

If you look at it as if it happened in real life, then you can imagine that in a panic he accidentally ripped the pin off the grenade and tried to get rid of it.
lol this happened to me lots of time, there may be time limit but stay calm dude because you got time to think every move over (that's why i can spend an hour or more just to finish one mission)

Some very fundamental mistakes (like running out of cover, panicking over time constraints, and not taking easy grenade kills on Codexes) but all stuff that's easy to learn past. Hope you're kicking ass and taking names now :)

XCOM 2 has three rules that you should always respect no matter the situation: - never get encircled - if you have the choice, reload instead of moving - spacing is paramount I almost forgot rule 0: *USE COVER*
I know this is an old video, but once I was doing Legend Ironman. I had 1 turn left to evac on a roof and had my team in position to get there. I had to run 1 overwatch. It missed and instead destroyed a rainpipe, blocking my access to the roof. Teamwipe and run-ender. Never doing Ironman again.
I discovered a neat trick with evac points especially the hard to get to ones. You can blow them up and move to a clpser position! I accidentally blew up a evac point and had it move right on top of my units :D it helps out so much especially when its surrounded by loke 3 enemy pods
Tyler Cafe depends really. I once compromised an evac point by accident and had to hoof it to another one....... behind enemy lines and had to slug my way through a mec and a few stun lancers. My team got wiped whwn the grenadier panicked and ran into the freaking open setting up my entire team for a hell of a flank as that dude was the lynchpin to keep said event from ocurring

I was on a mission where we extract a VIP. My medic grabbed her when an alien ruler busts through the doors and wrecked my team. No lives were lost as I had my Russian wack it hard enough to escape. Everyone needed at least 10 days to heal...
The first time I played Xcom2 on legend Ironman, the first one to get hit by the enemy panics and grenade fragged two of his buddies standing on a building roof way behind him. I got the message. I’m not ready for this yet.
and THAT is why once the fight starts, I consider cars like dangers, and not cover... hell, on the second mission from the start of the gale, learned that the hard way as a single truck explosion killed two of my dudes...
This here shows just why I started mass using the free reload upgrades for nearly all my soldiers. The goddamn Codex Psionic Bombs always come at the worst moments. One time I had two pods of 4 of those Codex in one mission along with a Sectopod, 2 shield bearers, two Archons, 4 Berserkers, and two Andromedas. Free Reloads my friend. They can really save your soldiers.
I only played XCOM1 but, I really tought that the music was part of XCOM2 and goes acording with the country where you were fighting (Flamenco for Spain, Mariachi for México and so on). Then I found it was from Ace Combat LOL; still a nice touch.

With all Honesty here, was an alright play. The only thing I would've done different is to focus on the codexes once the andromedon became a shell... They have a avarage aim with it. And heck you could move away from the Psi bomb and hit one of the codexes with combat protocol.

I lost a whole squat to a panic grenade. Early game legendary ironman. Chosen shows up. We are not ready. We one guy get hurt panics. We are on the third floor one turn away from the evac. they all fall 2 floors to their death. The run did not last much longer. Was very disappointed.

This has basically been all my missions as of late, only I use cover, and don't get to the objective because everyone is already dead.

In such a situation you focus on killing enemies as you cant finish the mission objective anyway but to prevent more casualties
