Craig James has nailed this review. I only state this because I fully agree with his positive review. The opening scene is a settler hammering a house marker stake into red ant infested soil near a river bank. This disruption of nature, through the Natives' eyes, who were stealthy viewing from afar, may have contributed to the settlers' deaths moments later. Seeing the ants, then the corpse bugs ravaging the adult body a few scenes later was the attention to detail that set the stage for this film. This was a 3-hour tour de force of master film making. Certainly under appreciated so far, this movie should eventually claim its status as a masterpiece in the years to come. I personally feel this is A+ work for a Chapter 1 entry. I asked myself, how could Costner have made this better... and there was no answer. This film is truly remarkable and everyone will have their own opinions of this motion picture art piece. Kevin should be extremely proud to have his name attached to this work. I certainly would be.
he made the movie his way and I feel he has a lot of ideas he's trying to get to. the impatient may not like this movie right now but I really cant wait to see what happens here given time.
Saw it yesterday my wife fell asleep, 2 people walked out after 40 minutes and the remaining 12 people we all chatter on the way out and no one had a good thing to say

I just saw horizon just yesterday. I really liked it! It shows the true hardships these people had back in those days.
yeah, I think these movies could really be something. hope people at least give the second one a chance to prove itself more
