I don't think there's any greater sight in wildlife, especially in Ireland and the UK, than the deer rutting season. Just so wild and awe inspiring to see. Nature at its best. Thanks for the video Jason, enjoyed that.
Having walked the Spinc loop for the first time about 3 weeks ago I really enjoyed this video, thank you. Despite the loop being well signposted and nigh on impossible to get lost I somehow managed to do just that, ending up on top of Lugduff SE! Didn't mind at all though, stunning views and thrilling to be so close to so many deer (unperturbed by my presence), so beautiful. Had lunch up there before making my way back down to the boardwalk to continue on. Deffo plan to go again - may even go back up Lugduff and on around the red loop next time. Well done on picking up so much litter. Will aim to bring an extra bag and do the same myself on future walks, rather than just tut-tutting as I walk past! Thanks again.
That sounds like a great day out and you got more than you bargained for which in this situation wasn't a bad thing. That would be class, every little helps as they say. That fleece is still haunting me 😄 Take her handy 👍
Cracking spot for a hike. Funnily enough I was talking about forest bathing in my last video too. There's definitely a beneficial effect from spending time in the woods. 🌲🌳
Great job man. That route is stunning. Really is. The amount of deer is crazy. Loved the new camera as well. The history up there could keep you hiking for days. That's it. I'm going there. Cheers man. Loved it.
Another great video Jason it's an absolutely beautiful place it's disgusting to see so much litter we don't need people like that hiking fair play to you for picking up what you could
Good to see you out and about. Did this walk a while back on a hot day. Thought it was never going to stop going upwards. Great walk. Missed the bit by the lake , i stayed on the path. Maybe next time.
This was lovely to see as this is my local hike 😊 the visitors centre charge €4 too but if your early (during the week) this time of year they don’t always be there collecting 😊 Laragh has free parking and there’s a nice walkway to Glendalough from there
Ah yeah I was happy with the camera, it made things a lot easier but like everything it did have its drawbacks. I would have loved my bigger camera for the deer
One of my favorite places in Ireland. I've only walked the lower trails but may try the mountain trails next time. The ancient monastery is really special.
They've closed the trail for three months now, theya re repairing the boardwalks as far as I know. The next time you'll have sexy new boards to walk on, happy days. They were getting pretty bad up there to be fair
You're right Jason, it is stunning there. It's an artists paradise - with a potential painting around every corner. Thanks for taking us along with you mate. Can I ask you something? In your experience, do the hiking poles help when you are walking? I have trouble with my knees, especially when going downhill and are considering whether or not to get some. Cheers
There some beautiful spots down there and the area around the round tower was really beautiful. I can honestly say that I wont ever go hiking without at least one hiking pole. They really do make a big difference. They make crossing uneven ground and streams so much easier, they have saved me from falling and rolling my ankle countless times. They take the pressure off the knees going downhill and give you something to push down on while going up. Get yourself a cheaper set and give them a good go. It will take some time because they can be awkward at first. I can't speak more highly of them
YES Dude, glad to C ya out...! It's barely stopped pissing hard in S/E UK. Dogs been walked & fed, it's now dark & pissing hard again, but I ain't gotta go anywhere now, so just gonna sort sum grub & watch U doing ya stuff...!🤣👍 Perfick...!👊😄...
😄 you don't have to tell me, it's been raining here the last three weeks. I pop on me waterproofs and go. It sound like you have everything under control on your end, dogs happy and you got to chill so happy days 🙌👍
Great to find your channel. Loving the content and your presentation. Described you to my Mrs as this real nice Irish lad that respects the country side and has an infectious laugh. Brilliant. Anyways back to this video. Looks like a lovely place, those board walks are a brilliant idea, don't see much of that over here. I'm getting on now days being 62 and lived most of my life in big towns. Since my mid 50's I took up walking all over Scotland and England and never once came up close to a stag, always wanted to. But by the sounds of it they're something to stay clear of, do they attack? Cow's, now that's another thing. I do everything possible to avoid them. Anyhoo as I say, love your style, respect for the country and cheery attitude. Big thumbs up from me. ATB to you and yours. Dave aka wackyswanderings 👍
Thanks a million, I'm delighted to hear it. Yeah the board walks are very handy, it's there to protect the ground from the large amount of hikers on the trail. This trail has been closed resently for 3 months. They'd just started to remove and replace the board walks so I'll have to head back to try out the sexy new boards 😆 The stags are harmless 90% of the time, once you keep your distance they won't bother you. I came withinn 8 feet of one once, we surprised each other. He was a huge animal with a full set of antlers, absolutely stunning. He just jumped out from the woods on a quiet country lane one morning. On this particular hike it was rutting season which means the deer are breeding so the males have a surge of testosterone. That can make them a bit more aggressive. I'm raging I din't have my mirrorless camera, I would have got some lovely shots of them all. The cows, I completely agree. I avoid them wherever possible. I don't trust them. Thanks again Dave, hopefully you might stick around for the next video. You won't have to wait long as it's up tomorrow 😄 Have a good one 🙌
Good job on the video. Strange they not charging for parking at the visitor centre normally are and is always full in the day. I tend to park at the free overflow car park opposite Laragh GAA pitch. Walk up under the woolen mills arch into the forest and about 10 min walk to the visitor centre Or go left and up the hill to a logging road and right for better views. The “cave” you was talking about was a old mine entrance.
Cheers Brian, I've taken that out of the video. I was under the impression that they never charged, I'm going to check out Laragh the next time I head up there, it sounds class. You know what, an old mine entrance is even cooler than a cave 😄 It never dawned on me that it could be a mine
Good on you for picking up the litter. Me and my dad have started doing it when we go on walks. When other people see us doing it hopefully it will remind them to do the same, or not drop it.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean but I take a hiking pole with me every time I head out, even when I'm down in the woods. I have degenerative disease in my back so the poles help to navigate uneven ground and take some pressure off when I need it. I bought the Leki's because they are aluminium with a cork grip and they weren't stupidly expensive. Cheers for watching man 👍
Beautiful landscape! 😍 Beautiful and very old ruins!
I don't think there's any greater sight in wildlife, especially in Ireland and the UK, than the deer rutting season. Just so wild and awe inspiring to see. Nature at its best. Thanks for the video Jason, enjoyed that.
It's just a pity I didn't have my bigger camera with me but it was cool to see them
Excellent looking trip. Thanks for picking up all the rubbish, hopefully it will encourage other folks to do the same.
Looks like a great route, I keep meaning to get down there for an explore.

Such a beautiful scenery my friend, great upload! This whole video is just full of amazing shots and landscapes!
Good man, was good to meet you up there. Thanks for picking up the rubbish 👍
It was nice meeting you too, fair play for running it 🙌 No worries, happy to do it
Bwaha, I was looking for your comment, see he didn't scare you off LOL

Cheers Tony, that fleece is still haunting me 😄
Great video, thinking of doing the same hike. Fair play with the litter. Love watching.❤❤
Go for it, it's class especially mid week
Very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful place with us.
Nice video keep it going
Nice one Jason 👍Some spot ❤
Brilliant video Jason thanks for taking us along
Thanks or joining me Derrick 🙌
Good to see you out and about. Did this walk a while back on a hot day. Thought it was never going to stop going upwards. Great walk. Missed the bit by the lake , i stayed on the path. Maybe next time.
😄 those steps can seem endless, the old layout was particularly horrendous. It's much better now
Ahh love it Jason! Beautiful video bro, really enjoyed that!!

Thanks a mill for that, I've removed that mistake from the video. I must check out Laragh the next time, cheers for the advice 👍
Beautiful country side for a hike. Bits of it reminded me of some virtual hike videos I watch. New camera looked good.
Ah yeah I was happy with the camera, it made things a lot easier but like everything it did have its drawbacks. I would have loved my bigger camera for the deer
That’s a great hike mate cracking views 👍🏴
One of my favourite places in the country, handy when it's only about 45mins away from me in athy
Great video Jason and an amazing hike. Could you camp at the top of that? Hope you are keeping well 👍 Have a great week mate 😀
No unfortunately camping is not allowed in that valley. I did see some stunning little spots but it's probably for the best. Have a good one man 👍
Great video jason,i do the spinc alot and have never seen it as quiet, beautiful part of the country
I'd have been out earlier if I had the bigger camera, I had to wait for the sun to rise😄 Best way to avoid people, hike in the dark 😂
That is a cave Jason, it's called St. Kevin's bed. And I think they are a Scots pine!😂Great video!👍
Cheers Barry 👍

Thank you so much Alan, I really appreciate it 🙌🙌🍀
A curse on those who dropped litter in such a place. Fair play to you man.
It is a shame people leave litter behind, i am just getting into hiking and this video has been great. Thanks

Plenty of good hiking up this way. If you up this way again Djouce down to powerscourt waterfall or the like would make a great hiking video
@Brian.H.. cheers Brian, I'll definitely be in wicklow a lot more next year

That's the way I think about it too. Fair play for doing it and thank you for joining me on this one 👍🍀
Great hike, next time do it anticlockwise for even better views. Love your channel Jason 👍
You know what, that's not a bad idea 🙌
I'm watching your video, and my daughter walks in and says. Wow, who's he. I pure fancy him lol. You have a fan here 😊
😂🤣 I reckon you might have to take herself down to specsavers
@RamblingOn don't say that, lol. You're very handsome 💯
Leki Poles ?😂 Paul Messner is now a walking advert for Rab, the more subscribers?????? Patagonia jackets next I suppose.

Love my hiking poles, never thought I would, but they're a huge help. Patagucci jackets are nice, just overpriced for what they are...
