I just started cutting keys for my cars at my dealership and could not figure this one out! After I watched your video, I successfully cut the emergency key for a 2017 prius. You are the best! My machine has the latest update and still has the same issue. I tried cutting with all keys lost, nope. Nothing. Followed your steps, BOOOM! Done! You rock!
Thank you, for all that you do... My Condor XC Mini Plus came with a small thin shim inside the package just for this same reason... First time I tried to cut the blade, the probe didn't touch the tip of the blade. I searched it online and I got lucky by finding a post somewhere that gave me this realization...
@@markmccormickkeys I'm sorry Mark. I didn't think about the difference in the way the clamps chuck the key up. The Condor comes with an M-1 clamp. You must be right about a glitch in the software after an update, being that you never had this problem in the past. Thanks again for your insite and showing how to get around the problem.. I saved your video in my bookmarks because I just recently bought the Dolphin II XP005L with the Screen and it does use the M-5 clamp.
I've found sometimes they will not go in the lock all the way, aftermarket key problem I am sure but if I file the tip at an angle and create a ramp I can usually get them to work right.
I tried camry toy40 single side, does the same thing in the beginning. Good to know a work around for this. I had tilted the front of the key up, and used a micro file to get the small portion the cutter couldn't reach. Shim didn't work, key just pops out.
I've been having the same issues...sometimes the method you're using works, sometimes it Doesn't.. the probe will read just fine, but the "Cutter" cuts in open air Above the key, doesn't go down far enough.. when that happens, I have to select the "77 Avalon" option.. there are two.. one of them has a remark that says TOY2018, it's not that one, its the other 77 Avalon option.. that option will have the stop at space #1, instead of space #2, then the probe and cutter will go far down enough on the 1 sided key.
I'm thinking that this may not be a Xhorse flaw. I noticed the OEM emergency keys don't have the channel down the middle. Maybe it's because I'm using aftermarket blades?
Thanks, we're trying to do things that our competitors won't do. So far, it's working. Most guys in our area are just looking to make a quick buck and not take on anything challenging. We are up for the challenge.

Very cool, thanks for the compliments. Keep this in mind and give back when you can.

Thanks, are you using an M5 clamp for these?

I may be wrong. Some of the key blanks don't have the channel down the middle. Those work fine.

Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the compliment.

@@markmccormickkeys i think software issue, I had to go look at a couple oem keys and all the ones I've seen had grooves in it
Man there's a crazy amount of work in your area I believe specially with toyotas

Put the shimmy under it for a piece of cardboard the same size of the key
I'll try next time. M5 usually doesn't require the shim.
Thank you
You're welcome
You are the man 👍
Thanks. Hopefully I helped.
