Just to put it into perspective: what both parties combined spend in a 2-year election cycle would equal somewhere between $5-10 for every American man, woman and child. I get the sentiment - truly, I do - but it is a literal drop in the bucket in terms of what we all cumulatively contribute (in tax dollars, let alone what we earn & spend) and what it would take to actually help & transform lives. There's no other easy way out: to accomplish such, we have to use our collective tax dollars and insist upon both policies and politicians who will pursue such measures. Voluntary poverty eradication measures have never worked nor will they ever work.

The total votes cast in Michigan in 2020 was 5.45 million. I live in Los Angeles county with a 10 million population. That is more people than in 7 red states. Math.
