My Dad was an HVAC tech for 20 years before he moved into a management position. The company he worked for would always have new technicians shadow him to help establish quality control. He would've appreciated how well you explained this sump pump job.

Great dyi video. And yes the noise is common. The hole is to reduce head pressure and prolong your pump life.
TTP you have no idea how much I appreciate your comment, unlike me you know what you're talking about. I can't hear the gurgle outside the room so I've forgotten about but do debate reinstalling without the airlock hole. Thank you so much be safe.

Does the Quiet check Valves need to be installed in a vertical position? I know for the normal style check valves they work much better and last longer in a vertical position.
No they don't....I think. They function great mounted horizontally and it is easier to change the valve and the pump. Be safe happy new year
My company always installs vertically, but that’s how we were trained, also before the 90
Should be installed vertically with column pressure closing the flap. If installed horizontally they eventually gunk up with mineral deposits in the belly of the pipe.
