Just because LP doesn't have to write songs while completely tripped out on LSD and Pot to make sense doesn't make them any less of a amazing band. But as someone mentioned before, comparing Chester's singing ability to Maynard is like comparing apples to oranges. So is their music. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't give you the right to sit there and flame people because of their taste in music.

APC is by far my favorite band and this is probably one of my favorite songs. I personally think Chester has plenty of emotion in this song and the screaming adds an edge and his own flavor to the song. The original version will always be better, as Maynard is amazing, but I think this version is pretty damn good too.

Maynard just sounds like he is sloppy drunk and does not have an exciting or enthusiastic bone in his body. As much as you "rock fans" do not want to admit that a band that has gone "mainstream" such as Linkin Park can not rock as hard or harder than Tool, then you are sadly mistaken. @Hybr1d7h3ory Screaming isn't a measure of vocal ability necessarily, but when comparing the scream from the Grudge, and many other Tool songs, compared to Chester's one long scream in Given Up, which is what we were doing, it's really not that impressive, but screaming is a vocal ability along with many others if someone is considering diversity, which Maynard has much more than Chester. As far as screaming being incredibly impressive, I don't think that with many people save for Patton.

Also his scream isn't the full scream it's normally longer than only 16 seconds so I guess he can't do the full scream Maynard can still do around 16 seconds and he is in his 40's.

In my opinions Robert Plant cannot stand up against Chris Cornell as far as vocally Soundgarden against Zeppelin Zeppelin wins however Cornell in my opinion is much better and always will be he can sing anything. He has much better range and had way more control and did not lose his range within only a few years. Also Freddie is better.
