    Mind you I'm 65 years old and I don't ride things like that but I do understand saline and I grew up in the Florida Keys where we used to use flare parachutes that were four to six feet in diameter when the wind's blowing across the Inland Bays on a pair of wide water skis and we'd hit up to 30 35 miles an hour at times in one to two put chop! I would love to try a windsurfing or a hydrofoil board like that unfortunately I don't think my knees would like it great video she's incredible and knows how to read the wind quite well that comes from an ex sailor thank you

      @@erikdeeNOSPELLSNO On the day I filmed that clip it was blowing 30+mph and there is a constant wind swell to glide on. The prototype wing she's using is 1.4m and she is on a high aspect wing. I filmed this on my kite foil and holding my camera attached to a 1m stick. I posted almost 250 videos and most of them are a bunch of clips edited together while a few are just raw one single take clips like this one. We have an abundance of turtles at our spot and they are featured throughout my videos with lots of underwater shots as well. I also efoil and couldn't think of any reason to bring along a wing, just bring the remote (she is not holding one) and foil.

    Saw such a device at the local beach recently... wondered why I hadn't seen an old-type wind-surfer in years 😀

      I was an old school sailboarder. This is an amazing watersport.
      The hydrofoil allows for a small sail. It's a game changer.

    • @alfnoakes392
      @alfnoakes392 2 года назад

      @@noe616 Would I be right in thinking it is only suitable for deeper (one metre plus) water due to the hydrofoil 'stalk' length? I used to watch folk using the old style 'big board and sail' windsurfers in very shallow waters (thinking of Poole harbour with the tide out).

      1m + sounds about right, you can foil in less but to get up initially you need that 1m. 🤙🏼

    So what's the cost for a 'foil and sail like that?

    • @JDFollowCam
      @JDFollowCam  3 месяца назад

      You can get get started with as little as $1000 for a used setup. It can get pricey buying different size wings, foils and boards to cover different wind and swell conditions. 🤙🏼

      No 360 cam, I used the tiny Go2 action camera from Insta360. I have it attached to a 1m pole and I'm following with my kite foil 🤙🏼
