I'm SO THANKFUL for RUclips. At age 76 now, it keeps me still a "little" young watching others enjoying their health. Enjoy it you youngins while you have it. It doesn't last forever. GREAT VIDEO FOOTAGE!
I started to Wing foil when I was 56 years of age, and am now surfing the big waves and doing downwinders/flagging. (I'm female btw). You are never too young or old to learn to do it. Get into it, you will love it! I am now into my 13th month of wing foiling and its so much fun and such a rush, so c'mon, give it crack. Reply
@sophiiageneve2317 I learnt to kitesurf at 51 years. My dear partner taught me as he has lots of experience as a kitesurfer, kite foiled and windsurfer. As I mountain bike a lot the balance part came easy. Reading the wind is harder but I got up on my first attempt.
That is amazing progress in 13 months for any age. I am 73 kiting for 12 years and just switched to winging last year. Foiling now and trying to learn how to jibe. Too late for me to be as good as I was at kiting but I think I will be able to do this longer. Who knows 1 year maybe 10. Either way it is a win for me.
Wish I was 20 again, just to explore this new sport. I surfed back in the 60's and that was awesome. This wing surfing takes surfing to new levels, litterally!
Lovely, this 77 year young in NZ would just love to be able to go back in time with that tech and really enjoy it like you guys! Of course you make it look easy lol
This 72 year young who grew up surfing ancient North Shore 60’s is LOVING another fun new creative way to surf with or without any surf … and with onshore winds we used to hate … Beautiful!
20years ago, I were concentrated on board sailing(= Wind Surfing) and after that changed to Kite Board. But some Time Rag, and required area were some issue of KIte control. (In case of Japan, So many people comes to same area) But Technology is improving day bay day.
it’s different but so much fun as it’s something new to learn, I was also windsurfing when I was very young. The minumum I would say with the biggest equipment is 8-9 knots. In the waves we had a bit more wind, maybe 15-17?!
I used to windsurf in Cabrillo but now live in San Diego area and there is no wind here. I tried kite boarding but the kite needs so much space to set up. I think I will try wingsurfing next spring. The foils seem so efficient. I’m getting old so I better learn soon before I die.
@@jupitorious7925don’t be bitter give it a try if you want or don’t. I windsurfed for 15 years or so and starting wing foiling this summer. You can harness in if you want and if you’re just using arms… as you know it’s excruciating on a windsurfer. Like black and blue fingers where holding on.
First spot: Pointe d'Esny. Magical. Second one seems to be Manawa wave. Didn't you see the whales behind the reef ? Perhaps, they were gone, now. Nice video.
Magical spots both of them! No unfortunately we didnt see whales at Manawa, but we went whale watching once to swim with some whales, close to le morne.
Looking for wind? Goes against everything I know and Love! Real Surfing which is Core! Glad You're finding your passion , looks fun but not for those that hate the Wind!LOL
haha I understand everyone who just wants to be at the beach… wind is the most annoying thing, but we need it! Yes, we’re so passionate for this new era!
I too have always hated the wind. But I want to learn to prone foil so I’m wing foiling to learn the foil. Ironically, it always glasses off for me now that I want wind.
You gotta come over to our home spot! Should be next to where you’re born. I guess I got to know your dad 🤔! Cool Team! Is that Benny B? I had the opportunity to meet some of the old core team members around the world and it was always a pleasure because they seemed to have a f***ing good time together 🤙🏼🤘🏼. Mauritius is awesome. Manawa is such a great wave. Would like to get out there with a foil as well… Greetings from southern Germany!
Many Greetings back! No Benny B wasn’t a part of this shooting this time, but we’re really enjoying the time in the water together. And yes my dad was windsurfing a lot so you probably know him! See you around on the Bavarian Lakes 🙏🏼
You’d be better off putting a hydrofoil underneath a wind surfer. You’d generate way more lift due to the ability to run with a much larger sail area & its direct attachment to the board.
To see the amazing possibilities of what you can do on a wing foil, go to the channel JD 'FollowCam' he has great videos of wing foiling at Kanaha beach in Hawaii.
@@alinakornelli He has some incredible videos, especially considering he is only using a little Insta360 GO2 camera, AND he is doing the video while kiting, AND he has a crazy small gear set up- usually on a 2M kite (yes, that is what he says- the wind is honking there around 35mph) and he is on a Lift foil and his board is from Mauiskimmers, it is TINY, I joke it is barely bigger than a cafeteria food tray. Just enough room for him to stand on it. Super talented dude. The tricks some of those groms on Maui can do is mind blowing. Oh, to be 12 years old and 90 lbs, and made of rubber! The height, distance, and hang time these kids get is outrageous!
danke! Hauptsächlich sind wir mit den 55 liter Boards gefahren und 950 flügel von Core ab und zu wenn weniger wind war hatten wir noch 70 l boards dabei.
works for learning but you will end up somewhere else, because your drifting with the wind downwind, because you don't have a big fin or foil underneath to stay upwind.
Never saw this wingfoil sport done before. COOL! Thanks for making the video. Wondering if they have these wingfoil units for other things besides water sports?
Ok. Get serious. One guy or gal in the driver's seat with the transmission in neutral and two people in the truck bed holding up foils. The brakes and steering should still work. So, what's the problem? You'll get great gas mileage.

Excellent! Did you windsurf before or kitesurf? How long did it take you to learn the basics?

What’s stopping you from getting on a kite. It doesn’t have to be an extreme sport. I know guys that are 90 in this community

I don't think I've ever seen anything so amazing. The ingenuity of mankind is just off the scale. More incredible things to come. I'm sure.
thanks and for sure a lot more to come in this sport.

One detail to notice is that 1 out of 5 wings got already ripped within just 1 session.
yes! Because the foil hit the wing in a wave :/ That happens when you push riding waves! But if you take care all stays fine!
They all looked pretty ripped. Just one session? Sign me up.
